We were a large group of 16 (all ages) spread across 4 lake houses and had a wonderful stay overall - many thanks to Ms. Young for her help coordinating the reservations with us and overseeing things to ensure we had a great stay, which we did. The lakehouses are very nice 2BR / 2 BA accommodations split with a nice open living area and kitchen in between. During the day, there's golf, the ability to rent a boat, a waterpark (which was closed during the week but looked impressive), a nice pool (with Bull Frog's for lunch right by it), 3 tennis courts and the lake of course. Getting around via golf cart is actually part of the fun (for all ages, especially our kids) as the property is vast and very scenic. For dinner, Sidney's wasn't open for dinner and we Land Shark wasn't the best option so instead we would either BBQ at the lake house or order in from a local restaurant, both of which turned out to be great. For longer stays, there's also the option to venture out into Atlanta for the day for a change of pace as well. Overall, we had a great stay, the staff was wonderful and special thanks to Ms. Young for her help leading the charge on our very nice visit.

It’s a nice hotel, but there some things that need updating. The room itself was nice, but it was a little outdated in terms of decor and the bathroom was also small. Also, it would have been nice to have an in room safe instead of having to ask for one. The windows could also be a little bigger or there needs to be a little more lights, as the room could get a little dark. Other than that the room was very nice. The staff were very friendly, and the elevators were a little slow, but that was not a problem. However, it would’ve been nice if the hotel required key card access on the elevator an to get into the building from any side or back entrance. Overall, I would probably give this place another chance.

Solid 4.5 hotel. Hidden gem. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were there in July, as leisure tourists traveling back to Florida from TN. Very nice resort. When I called down for more towels, the operator might as well have been working at a Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons. A+ service. Rooms were spotless. Very clean everywhere in the resort. Beautiful views. Very peaceful. Nice, big, clean pool. Buffet breakfast was good at the restaurant. We only had snacks & drinks at the grill. The restaurant was not open for dinner. We were traveling with kids so we did not use the spa or golf. (We were disappointed with golf cart rental prices during the week, so we did not rent- but that would have been fun. Carts were lined up, but nobody was using them- maybe they should offer a discount during slow times?) We did go to the free beach at the Landshark Landing area at 11am. It was fun for the kids & decent food for lunch at the bar& grill there. Nice views. We skipped the water park/Margaritaville. That area did not match the quality of the Legacy Lodge, in my opinion. This is a really nice resort. It has even more potential. It didn't seem to be busy with tourists though- mostly conference attendees. Not sure if the resort is unknown or still due to Covid hesitation or due to recession. I'm sure they normally get many guests from downtown Atlanta. We'd be interested to visit again in the Fall or Winter. Maybe at Christmas time.

My Executive Director and I booked a lake house for a 2 day work retreat. Pros: -With the exception of the phone rep who I spoke to upon departure, staff were extraordinary! -Check in was simple and convenient. We were also able to check in early so that we could get right to work. This was fantastic and extremely helpful. - The actual experience of Lake Lanier was wonderful. We enjoyed the scenic breaks from work to go grab meals and each dining and staffing experience was exemplary. The place is beautiful. Cons: - The actual lake house was a disappointment. Not really a view of the lake. The upgrades advertised were made with subpar materials and/or installed with poor workmanship. It’s cute at first glance, but then you really begin to notice the series of imperfections that overall make it look like a cheap diy renovation. -The shower pressure was dismal in one bathroom. I had to stop using it and go to the master bathroom in my ED’s suite. - The biggest issue- roaches. I know this is a lake house and we’re in the woods, but the amount of them was unacceptable. We adhered to the sign in the home and never opened doors, but they continuously got in from the door leading to the deck. We literally watched it happen multiple times. The final straw was one crawling across the bed I was sleeping in at 530am, resulting in me having enough and checking out early. -I called the front desk to let them know we were leaving and had my first and only unpleasant customer service experience. The rep continuously cut me off in the middle of my questions to answer them. (Which were incorrect answers bc she incorrectly assumed what my question was going to be.) And when I very respectfully advised her that we were leaving around 630 am bc of the roach issue, she was in my humble opinion, quite dismissive. Overall, it was close to perfect, and we considered bringing our leadership team for our annual retreat, which has about a 25k budget. But ultimately, the lodging experience will keep us at Lake Oconee.

The place to stay! Large, comfortable rooms, clean, salt water pool, gym, restaurants and much more. We have stayed here twice and highly recommend it to everyone. You can even rent golf carts to tour the grounds and see all there is on the property. Very friendly staff.

My husband, myself and our 1 year old stayed here for a night as we’re traveling. We called ahead to get a room with a bathtub for our little one. As we entered the property it was absolutely beautiful. There are so many activities/restaurants. The valet and bell men were fantastic(5 stars). We checked in at the front desk and double checked that we had a bathtub and was told yes by the woman working. We looked outside and saw the pool and it was very nice. We were excited to take our little one swimming. He was cooped up in the car and needed to get some energy out! The bellmen took our belongings to our room on the 4th floor and helped us unload. As we were unloaded we observed there was no bathtub in the room. My husband went back downstairs to see what we could do. After awhile he came back up stairs and said they were working on it so we sat and waited. Eventually the bellmen came back up to move us to the 1st floor which had a room with a tub. The room was located right next to the ice machine, 10ft from the restaurant and 15 feet from the pool entrance. There was constant traffic. We waited so long that by the time we got into our new room it was too late to take our one year old swimming. In the morning we got up early to take him swimming but found out it was closed due to someone pooping in the pool and it would be closed until that evening so we never got to take him swimming. Unfortunately this time was a poor stay but based off the overall nice staff and how pretty the property is and all the extra activities there are to do there we hope to try this place again. This place is more of a week/weekend stay then one night.

We stayed a night for the collegiate triathlon national championship. It was very convenient for the race. Our room was very clean and comfortable. It was well equipped with a fridge and coffee maker. Nice view from our balcony. Facilities were very nice. Restaurants on site. Plenty of parking. Will definitely stay again when it’s warmer and we can enjoy the pool and lake.

Very beautiful place to stay. Golf course is fantastic. Be aware there are minimal places to eat at the resort. Staff are very friendly. Would suggest using Uber eats for some of your meals. Would love to stay again.
