Rakesh, who is the manager at the resort was very helpful and tried to take care of all our needs. Our package included a couple of trips to nearby places like Manoli dam, sunset point, Pawankhind...

Our intention was to visit the famous Chandoli National Park near Kolhpur in southern Maharastra State. We were particularly interested in exploring the various rainforest and mountainous habitats to be found there. The park was also strategically located by road between Hampi and Mumbai. By good fortune our travel advisors had booked us into The Jungle Resort Amba. The facilities...

The jungle resort is a nice, cozy place for a holiday. The resort in itself is pretty beautiful and away from the usual city noises. The rooms are pretty clean considering it's not a city hotel. The food is not that great - we expected the non-veg curries to be spicier, as is normal in kolhapuri cuisine. The breakfast was...

Writing this review after a bit of time has elapsed. However, I do not think it would be making too much of difference. I was here with my family in the long-weekend of January 26, 2016. Incidentally decided on this place as I had also visited the resort many more years back and had a good memory of being in...

Dear Indranil, Thanks for your kind review. Thanks for pointing out "This place remains peaceful and calm and totally removed from civilization". We donot agree with your point that travel time required is 9 hrs and even if it is 9 hrs, it cannot be our disadvantage, its the unfortunate disadvantage of mumbai that is so far way and totally...

The climb from Ratnagiri District to the resort is very scenic and is called Amba Ghat. The resort is located in village of Amba, near Dajipur Bison Sanctuary on the Western Periphery. Radhanagari Wildlife Sanctuary is close to us. At The Jungle Resort, Amba we are a property of 5 acres with natural and jungle terrain, beautiful and bountiful tree cover. In these jungles you can find the great Indian bison and other animals associated with the jungle. "WATERING HOLE," our in-house restaurant along with local Kolhapuri Tambda and Pandhra Rassa, cuisines of delicious seafood we also serve Jain, Chinese menu (we get freshest and choicest fish due to our proximity to coastal Maharashtra - Ratnagiri 60 kms).
