We have driven by this place several times in recent years but we stopped in this past weekend and boy were we happy about it. From the outside, this place clearly wears its chronological age. Apparently the hotel and restaurant have been around for decades. Today, its open for lunch and dinner (but not late) and serves a darn-good burger...

This is under new management and they have made an enormous difference. If you want a great burger 🍔 or a satisfying plate of fish and chips or deli style BLT (just to name a few) you won't be disappointed here. The Desert Inn has been around for many years, its an old historical landmark and not fancy, but it's...

You have to understand that visually, the Desert Inn is, on the outside, a dump. But don't be put off: inside it is very plain but the highlight are hundreds of signed dollar bills stapled everywhere on the ceiling. And a few rattlesnake skins. Very plain, pretty limited menu. Nothing to give you a high expectation. And I'd guess that...

Stopped by on the way home from south Florida. Pretty good food with a good price. Family owned. Spoke to the waitress who said she and her husband bought two years ago. Well worth stopping by. Will be back.

From Vero Beach to Tampa on State Road 60 or Miami to Ocala via the Florida Turnpike, I have traveled through Yeehaw Junction, Florida, dozens of times throughout the years. An almost desolate exit with a couple of gas stations and some fruit stands, this place could surely use a Starbucks. As a child, I seem to remember a Stuckey's...

We met some friends from Maryland that were staying in Orlando, for lunch at the Desert Inn Hotel and Restaurant. Not only are the owners friendly but the local residents were too! The food was great, I had the crunchy fish sandwich and it was wonderful and my husband said the hamburger and fries were the best ones he has...

I stopped here near the end of a 100 mile bike ride and sucked down about half-a-dozen sweet teas, then came back and ate a couple days later. The quirky Florida history just oozes out of the timbers! I could imagine Serge A Storms taking refuge here during a hurricane.... The food was excellent and the staff was friendly as...

I've been stopping here for years to and from Orlando, and Tampa. Skip the fast food and crowds at the Turnpike Plaza and step back in time. There's so much history, interesting people and great food too. You'll meet unique locals, tourists just passing through and a staff ready to share the unique and colorful history. I always end up...

Yes...get off the turnpike and away from mass produced, identical, and somewhat boring fast food, served by mechanical, uniformed, though qualified and helpful, staff. This little historic building Is all by itself, and has a little story to tell. While waiting on your fish & chips.....and enjoying a cold beer, take a short stroll around the room to see a...
