The Park Plaza Hotel is centrally located in the heart of Winter Park, Florida. It sits on Park Avenue directly across the street from Central Park surrounded by numerous fine restaurants and shops. The hotel itself is a two-story building and as you enter you are taken back in time to the 1930s era. It has the appeal of that old world European charm with an old-time operating two door-person elevator. The hotel offers different rooms, however, our experience was in a king suite with a balcony overlooking Park Avenue. This is where we enjoyed our complimentary breakfast every morning which consisted of orange juice, coffee, and freshly baked croissant, which were just perfect to start our day prior to our morning walks in the adjacent neighborhoods with oak filled streets and majestic homes on the nearby lakes. Our room was very clean and spacious; yet, the bathroom was smaller, typical of the time. The hotel personnel were phenomenal, very personable and helpful. Pia, the general manager, was also very friendly and attentive to our needs. We look forward to returning to Park Plaza Hotel on our next stay at Winter Park.…
We stayed at this lovely boutique hotel right in the center of Park Avenue. The charm of this 1922 hotel is authentic to its time. The lovely balcony with tropical flora and rich tones in the sleeping and living spaces wrapped its wealthy quaintness around you. If you are looking for a new hotel feel that is not to be found here however if you are looking for a unique quaint stay the Park Plaza is the place to stay. The staff are so welcoming and warm and friendly I could not finish this review without mentioning them and thanking them for a wonderful stay.
I have stayed at this property twice. Pathetic is a kind description. Tiny closet space, tiny TV, no parking, the breakfast is comical, noisy, very poor all around. The owners should be ashamed. Winter Park fortunately has the Alfond.
I love all of it, customer service, clean, quiet, homey feeling, accesible to night out bars, close to breakfast places , close to shopping, loving this cute place, will be back more. Also it is close to home.
I really enjoyed my recent stay at this charming hotel. It was reminiscent of past elegance. The location was handy to restaurants, shopping and transportation as well as to other areas including the airport. I loved sitting on the balcony having morning croissants and even purchased a lovely meal from a nearby restaurant to bring back to enjoy on the balcony and savour the park view. The hotel staff was very accommodating have any needs that I had. Would recommend this hotel for those who enjoy old world charm but for those who like slick and modern it would not be a fit.
