We stayed in this campground 2 times while we were in Florida during the month of February. The first time we were placed up front in a pull through. We were only staying two nights. We were beside to the Pilot station and it was very loud. If noise bothers you -you should ask to be in the back of the campground. On our way out of Florida we stayed three nights and did have a campsite in the back of the campground. It was a nice long pull through. It was grassy and therefore somewhat messy from the morning dew and rains. There are no trees except on the perimeter of the ground. The campground does have a nice pool but we did not use it. It has laundry facilities that we did not use either. It is conveniently located to restaurants and gas stations. We have friends in the Villages and it was located conveniently to their home. We would stay there again for short visits.…
We asked for a pull through and they put us in the old section. No shade, scruffy grass, ant hills, very narrow site. Trash and cigarette butts all over. The WiFi and cable work well. The dog park is a decent size and shaded but lots of sand. There are a lot of long term old trailers many in need of repair. The staff is nice and they do pick up the trash you set by your site. The pool and laundry are clean. The laundry only has 4 functional washers and no laundry carts. Someone filled all the washers and never came to get it the whole time I was there. We don’t plan on returning.
On our way to New Orleans we camped here two nights. Office staff great. Warm welcome and efficient check in. Pool fabulous. Bingo if you like is well run. GROUNDS have dog poop not cleaned by dog owners. Perhaps someone can monitor the grounds since we cleaned 4 piles of dog poop from our site
We arrived with two RV's, a tag-along and a Class A. Staff was among the most efficient and genuinely friendly we have ever met. Wonderful, dedicated people. The campground, however, left quite a bit to be desired. Our main complaint was the constant and clearly on-going rv and truck repair taking place in the spaces close by to ours. One guy was fabricating a huge exhaust sytem for his diesel pick-up, using grinders and welding equipment. Another was using very loud wood-working tools to cut and finish some sort of improvement for his trailer. Kids driving around in golf carts, obviously too young to drive anything. Lots of older, and somewhat dilapidated rv's that look like they are permanent. If this park would enforce a 14-day stay rule, it would be a great place to stay. It's right on I-75, so I'm certain it would be utilized by travelers a lot. But the sketchy look and the laissez-faire attitude towards extended-stay residents really makes it a low-end park. Certainly not an "RV RESORT"!…
The staff was accommodating. The pool area and restrooms were beautifully upgraded and clean. We were there during dry weather so grass was not a problem for us, but iI would be be an issue if it rained. Our site was very wide, easy in and easy out. The trucks next door did not bother us. Giving Wildwood 5/5. Really checked off all the boxes for us.
We stopped for one night. Campground in the middle of busy area, entrance could be missed in part due to construction going on at the front. Campground expansion in the back as well. We were placed in the back, facing the construction, it got a bit dusty, construction noise didn't start too early in the morning. Site with no tree shade and mostly dirt but roomy, easy in and out. Near gas stations, restaurants etc. Very friendly staff. We would do another short stop.
This is on the site of the old KOA. Completely renovated and expanding with 200 sites to the north and 150 more to the east. Easy and cordial check in, bathrooms totally renovated, new pool, etc. This is nothing like the crowded, old KOA. Great amenities with cable & wi-fi. Another few months and this will be the showcase for Wildwood.
Very nice people...the lots are all grass and dirt, so if it rains (which it does a lot in Florida you are in mud..lots of mud. Lots of trees so satellite connection is challenging. Lots of people and small laundry room. Now for the bad part...after discount it is $60. Oh yes it is right beside a major truck stop that is active all night long.
I wish I knew Trip Advisor rated RV parks before we booked this. Now we understand why you pay in full at booking and no refunds. We would have pulled out of the park after we saw the conditions. If you like dirt and the sound of 18 wheeler's idling all night long....this place is for you! They are trying to make upgrade but have a long way to go! Too expensive for single night stay. This is a monthly rental park.
We spent 6 weeks in our RV at the Wildwood RV Village. It was a really nice RV park. The park is quiet (mostly snowbirds), clean and a great staff. There are a lot of things going on in the park including ice cream socials, bingo, free movie night with popcorn, pool parties and many more. They have a very nice pool and it is warm. I met a lot of great people there, most of them had stayed there before. On Thursdays a fresh fruit and vegetable truck sets up by the office, so you can purchase these items at reasonable prices. It is in a great location(5 miles from the Villages) and close to many other attractions. The sites go for under $800.00 per month which includes full hook-ups, cable tv and wi fi. Looking for a place to get out of the cold next winter, this is it.
