Had a family trip and the 2 bed 2 bath apartment was great for us. Easy walk to the beach and downtown. Ronny who was at the front desk was very accommodating. We didn’t have to use our car and walked and biked everywhere.
Great staff. Very clean. Better than expected. For an old place it is very nice. I hate the 200 minimum character requirement for reviews on TripAdvisor. This may be one of my last. Helping them out with the site, now they are going to tell me how i have to invest in my own time.
We booked this hotel because of all the great reviews we read. Sadly, our experience was not like the others and hopefully yours will be different. 1) when we arrived in room #19, our first impression was that we were to have a great stay. While checking the room out, we noticed a tv missing from the bedroom and called to ask where it was. The response was “it broke the other day and we removed it.” So, why didn’t you get a new one so that we had the same experience as the last guest? 2) tried the tv in the living room; didn’t work either. After a couple of staff members coming to try to fix it, they said it just didn’t work and was Comcast’s fault. I realized it was a smart TV and that I could connect my iPhone to it so we could watch a movie after the beach. After we returned from the beach, the WiFi was now down and, thus, no tv of any kind. We called yet again and were told they would contact Comcast. No further response. Why were we so concerned about not having these things? Well, we felt that we should receive the same thing the previous guest did. We require WiFi to do some work while away. Additionally, the walls are paper thin and because we had no tv noise, we were up most of the night listening to the next room. (We couldn’t possibly call the hotel again for yet another complaint.) Lastly, we woke up the next morning to a gigantic palmetto bug or cockroach on the living room floor. Nasty!! The next morning, upon check out, we let the office know that our stay was way less than satisfactory. Their response was “call us when you visit again and we’ll do something for you.” What we wanted was some sort of compensation for all of the crap we put up with for during our stay. Oh, well. We’ll try another hotel next time. We really wanted to have a great experience as the grounds are beautiful. But we drew the short straw this time around. Their lack of service recovery was pitiful. …
The Sea Turtle Inn is an absolute gem! I have stayed here multiple times including when my family was displaced out of the home for two weeks due to a kitchen renovation. The staff is amazing and really made it feel like home for us. In addition, During a moving process my husband stayed here for several months. When you arrive to check in you will most likely meet Ronnie who runs the office. Ronnie has, in my opinion, raised the bar when it comes to hospitality in hotels. He is kind, accommodating, and fair and truly epitomizes the lost art of being hospitable. My husband and I have traveled a lot and spent many many nights in hotels. Together we have lifetime platinum elite ambassador status with Marriott, diamond status with Hilton, and spire elite ambassador status with IHG. After our wonderful experience at Sea Turtle Inn all those loyalty programs are seeming pale in comparison. Onto the accommodations… The hotel has been in Vero Beach for 30 years and is situated a block and a half from the beach. Across the street is Casey’s which is a local Treasure when it comes to casual dining. Also, within walking distance is Ocean Grill (world renowned fine dining), Mulligans on the Beach (fun family dining on the beach), Kilwins (for the most sophisticated sweet tooth), Nino’s pizza (Order a Maria’s Pizza... your welcome in advance), and local hotspots Grind and Grape (to see and/or be seen) and Waldo’s on the Beach (any local can attest to this beach/poolside restaurant and bar). Rooms range in price during the season from 119 up to $400+. In the summer you can get a piece of the paradise for a total steal. Being a privately owned hotel, reservations are run through third-party companies. So you will have plenty of options for booking. Now as I mentioned I am an experienced traveler and know what I am looking for and how to get it when it comes to getting the best a hotel has to offer. Here’s the insider scoop on this hotel... The hotel is broken up into two separate buildings. The front building which is attached to the front office is two stories and is home to your standard hotel room. Bed, bathroom, microwave etc. On the west side of the property are the apartment sweets. I can honestly say that I have stayed in most and seen all of them. Here’s my top two… 1. Two bedroom two bath very upscale balcony room located on the second floor overlooking the pool. The room rate on this rarely drops below $250 but it is worth every penny. Two king size beds in the master and two twin size beds in the guest bedroom. Full kitchen with brand new chrome appliances. Windows overlooking the lusciously landscaped pool. The guest bathroom has an epically amazing shower and the walk in closet located in the master could be its own hotel room. From what I understand the original owner lived in this unit when he first opened the hotel, before all the other apartment suites were added. 2. One bedroom apartment with street view. No one perusing the room options you might not usually choose a room with a Street view over a pool view. This room however has a door which goes out to a private parking area on the west side of the property and the door which goes out to the pool. In my opinion one of the most private rooms on the property and also has central AC as compared to most of the other apartment suites which have window units. The pool at the sea turtle is lushly landscaped, comfortable and has comfortable lounging options, umbrellas and privacy from the outside world. I love it! Also noteworthy are Tracy and Amy who are super friendly and accommodating when it comes to any housekeeping you may need. They are both willing to go the extra mile to make guests happy and they do it from the heart with a smile on their face. All in all, I give the Sea Turtle in 5 stars! It is a great spot for a multitude of reasons. When in Vero you should definitely check it out!…
Second stay at Sea Turtle Inn. This time we wound up getting one of the apartments. It was only a two night stay so we couldn't make full use of the flexibility the apartment affords guests but it was still very nice. I recommend getting the apartment if you have 3 or more guests even if you don't plan on cooking. The regular rooms were a bit too small if you have someone sleeping on the sofa bed. As before hotel in a great location. Everything was clean. Check-in and check-out were very smooth. I would definitely stay here again!
