Out of all the Hilton hotel brands, I would say that Hampton Inns are the most inconsistent between properties. I have stayed at some that should be bulldozed while others rate as high end, full service Hilton Hotels. This property falls in the middle. We reserved a one bedroom suite with fully equipped kitchen (at least that's what the room description stated on Hilton's web site). Thus, we expected basic kitchen tools to prepare meals (the basics: meat, vegetable, salad) as we had planned to cook-in during our week's stay as we are still not comfortable eating out in restaurants. Upon checking in we made a list of items that were not in the kitchen: toaster, cutting board, measuring cup, sharp knife, frying pan, mixing bowl, mixing spoon, dish towels. When I spoke to Nick, the Front Desk Manager, to request them, he explained that they were not an extended stay hotel and didn't provide such items. I pressed the issue and he agreed to look around to see what he could find once he finished his shift as he was the ONLY employee in the hotel and it was only 2pm. Pleasantly surprised, he did come to our room with at least a toaster (that he took from the employee break room), knife, pan and bowl. I was impressed with and appreciated his follow through. A lot of employees would have just clocked out and headed home without following through on their promise. Our suite was clean and well maintained considering the age of the property. The first time we went to use the microwave we were surprised to see that it did not have a turn table in it. It wasn't manufactured that way. Curiosity got to me and I looked for the manufacturing metal plate and found that it was made in 1996! It was 24 years old yet no complaints as it worked; just took longer than normal to heat things. In light of current safety precautions, they do a good job of providing a variety of decent choices for breakfast. They had one hot chafing dish with mini cheese omelets and either hash browns or home fries with hand sanitizer right next to it and a sign asking everyone to sanitize their hands before plating. In addition, they had boxed cereal, milk cartons, apples and oranges individually wrapped in plastic, pancakes or French toast prepacked for you to heat up in the microwave, bagels and English muffins individually plastic wrapped, butter and cream cheese packets along with coffee / tea / juice. No complaints about any of it. However, in the past couple of months we have learned that Hilton's Clean Stay program is only as good as each property has implemented it. Meaning, there are inconsistencies. At the Hampton, there is only a hand sanitizer station at the Front Door Entrance but none at side entrance doors that one might use to park closer to your room and bring luggage through it. No hand sanitizer stations at doors one must touch to go into the courtyard where the pool is located. No hand sanitizer stations by the pool fence gates that one must touch to enter or exit the pool deck. The Maintenance Manger walks the halls with NO mask however he did put one on when he came to our room to replace a light bulb. A couple of months ago, we stayed at Hilton's DoubleTree Suites in Naples, FL where they did all of the above AND.......the Front Desk staff would immediately disinfect the luggage carts after guests had touched them. I would rate the DoubleTree's Clean Stay program A+ and give this Hampton a C. The hotel's indoor public areas and outside are clean and well maintained except for the pool area which appears to be neglected although the pool and hot tub are very clean and water is crystal clear. The dead palm tree looks like it has been there for a while and weeds are growing up throughout the rocks in the flower beds. We shortened our planned 7 night stay and checked out after the fourth night because of the air conditioning situation; not just in our room but in all the rooms. The hotel does not have Central A/C. They are window units although they are installed through the wall just under the window. In our travels, we have always found these types to be inconsistent in maintaining a set temperature. They either come on too soon or not soon enough so you are either too cold or too hot. Because we had a suite with living room and separate bedroom, we had two of them to contend with. Plus, they are noisy compared to Central A/C. After 4 nights of not sleeping well, we packed up and headed home. Upon check out, Nick was most apologetic but as I told him, it wasn't any one person's fault. It's the A/C design for this particular hotel. We would never return to this property but at the same time would not discourage you to stay here if the room rate and / or location meets your needs. Just be aware of the A/C situation if that's important to you and the bare bones kitchen furnishings if you plan to stay for more than a couple of nights and cook a fair amount of meals.…
Stayed at Hampton for 2 nights. Had a suite which was very nice. Great location near restaurants, shopping and beach. Like all Hamptons bed was comfortable. Clean although breakfast is temporarily not being served due to virus they did give a bagged breakfast.
We loved the room layout. Tons of storage in dressers and chests. A closet with an iron and ironing board and more hangers. Great kitchen with full-sized refrig, a small stovetop, nice microwave. What was missing for us was having an in-room safe. The room felt a little old/run-down despite some really nice refurbishing (pictures follow). Our housekeeper was very friendly, as were the front desk team. We stayed during this awful COVID-19 pandemic and the hotel did everything they could to cover the bases so we felt safe and comfortable.
One night stay with my wife before going to Estero Island for our holiday. A practical and affordable Hotel. Good, comfortable and clean double room and limitless breakfast. Ideal after the long journey from Europe.
Was easy to check in and out with polite service. Conveniently located to downtown Venice, and beaches. We had a clean room, laundry service area clean, breakfast was nice. Would stay again at this location.
