Great people beautiful park, lots of activities full hook up lots of grass to walk my dogs. Most people had beautiful Christmas lights and their homes decorated RVs or mobile homes. It was really nice walking around the park at night. Pay attention to where you stay if you walk your dogs, the daytime know how to get back to your house at night circular roads can be a little confusing, but a very fun park. Very close to shopping restaurants whatever you need

The resort was neat and well maintained. The long term residents have their places decorated with cute fences, trees and flowers. The pool was cleaned regularly and large enough to practice social distancing and a large deep area for the kids to jump and play without disturbing the older floaters. Staff was very helpful and we were visited by the Thousand Trails rep at our site to check to make sure we were enjoying our stay. This was a first for us even though we've been members for over 30 years.

Note: TT Encore does not mean a special upgraded park, Per TT, Encore parks are ones that agree to hold several sites for TT members. We've come to understand the worst sites are set aside for TT members
Don't waste your money if TT and do research on what site you get if not
This is the second worse Encore park we've visited Booked this site 60 days ago for longer BUT left early as it was so bad One lane roads with 2 way traffic. If you have a big rig, it will be tight. Our Site: Side and rear backs up to the park dump and supply site. Grass/dirt site. Our front has 6 foot diameter sewer drum which is leaking vapor, picnic table over some access panel. Some resolution could be had if a privacy fence was put up to shelter the view Surrounded by year round residents, some homes well kept, most not so much, some abandoned and trashed
I reached out to park manager and was after 2 hours and we already set up in 85 degree heat, there was 1 other site but it was just as bad. We paid an additional $20 per night, I asked for a refund, response was Why? What did you expect? They said to contact TT I contacted TT and they said they couldn't do anything, but I could file a complaint.
Our neighbor was here 3 months, they said on Google earth the area behind us was a field at time of booking. Also told if they wanted to rebook for next year, they would have to have the same site! They aren't coming back either

Mud, flood and crud is everywhere! Many sites and roads under water. I would give this rating a zero if I could. We paid a premium rate for a premium resort site and were packed in like sardines! The site is located on a very busy corner full of tire tracks and mud from recent rains. A little crushed rock on the site would be a welcome addition to at least the residents passing through the site. Our site had little room to safely put out the awning or chairs due to the mud and the constant passing traffic. NOT PREMIUM AT ALL! When I asked about another site I was told this one was the only one available. Yet, when I walk the dogs I see multiple sites open where we could have been relocated. The lady who checked us in stated this was a wonderful site. It is especially wonderful as there are two dilapidated park model trailers (at least 25 years old) right across the street from us to admire. It seems these residents left for the hurricane about a year and a half ago and never came back! This is a park meant for permanent residents whose park models have deteriorated over time. It is not meant for weekends or short stays. They couldn’t care less. Don’t be fooled by their flashy website. I do not recommend Rambler’s Rest RV Resort. They don’t even have ice or a store. I am sorry we came and will never come back. Find another rv park as this is no resort!!! I was overcharged and underwhelmed by their campsite!

I have been to this campground a number of times. The staff has not ever been very friendly but this time was the worst. They say nobody lives there full time and they lie. There are so many full time people living there. Also they have plenty of open spots but will tell you it's for snowbird's. Then they don't come. I had a camping pass through thousand trails I used it then paid full price they reported me. Like I said rude. Also floods really bad and most of there facilities still don't work

The site, pool area, and pickle ball areas were very nice. Did not use any other of the facilities due to ongoing repairs. We are Thousand Trails Members and paid the extra $24 per day to stay at the RV Park. We did notice the park was looking very old and wore down, people were very nice and helpful with local activities.

Previously commented in review. Way overpriced for rv site. For that price would expect water front site in plush resort rather than being placed between 2 trailers in a run down trailer park. Pool amenities were best part of stay.

We stayed at Ramblers Rest over Memorial Day. We loved the pool area and found it to be relaxing and enjoyable. The campsites do not have shell or concrete pads which can be messy when it rains. We were impressed with the entertainment. They offered hot dogs and some beverages at the pool on Saturday while the band played. We would recommend Ramblers Rest as a great camping location.

Although the cost per month is rather high this was a nice park as far a location to gulf beaches and easy accessibility to local merchants. Some of the staff were not very friendly at all. Interactions with office staff were strained and they acted like they didn't want to deal with you.

It would be nice to have cable or xfinity. Tried Verizon hot spots and it did not work for us, actually went through 3 of them. I think if you all called xfinity and said we have 200 sites to provide cable internet they would listen.
not far at all--you take river road south--head west and boom you are there--Manasota Beach--or go north and hit Venice Rd and end up at Sharkey's--super convenient--and their pool is beautiful! so lots of time we did that all day. Turning left is hard--but if you go north and take Center Rd you skip all the traffic on Tamiami -- it's good!
There are more places to choose from in the Venice area.
