This is the Best Vintage style Motel / Beach cottages that I have ever experienced . I search out boutique hotels and motels from NYC , SFO, Miami ,Key West and New Orleans. The character of these rooms and cottages including the furniture, the red Refrigerator and microwave, fully furnished kitchen put this location over the top. First and foremost this lovely quaint resort is immaculate and the AC is cold with ceiling fans and a vintage fan in the bedroom to make sure you are most comfortable day and night. You will need a blanket in the bed at night for sure. You are truly steps from the beautiful Gulf Of Mexico Crystal clear waters . There is a beach shelter house with a deck across the narrow street . Don't miss a sunset each night as they are all so different. Beach is quite private ...family oriented for everyone. I just can't say enough..I just returned from a four day stay and already making plans to return. Manager Sandra is bodacious!!! She runs this resort like a well oiled clock. I'll be back Baby!!!!!

We came back for a return visit coming for the first time in Feb 2024. We were so impressed the first visit that we needed to come back to stay longer and use one of their bungalows, and it did not disappoint.

We stayed in the captain, that has a one main bedroom, another area with a bed (but is not a separate space) and it has a full bathtub with shower. It also has a futon in the living room. It also had a kitchen with an oven, stove, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, blender and toaster, not to mention a good supply of kitchen utensils (cups, mugs, plates/bowls, pots and pans, silverware, knives, etc). Since we stayed for 4 days, they also left a tub full of towels. We opted for the beach chair/umbrella/towel package as well, which was so convenient since the beach is literally across the non-busy street (great for families!). As you can see in the posted pics on their website, their decor is awesome and elevated, which makes the stay even more pleasant. Onsite they have large tables and loungers outside, at least 3 grills, outdoor games, and also a guest laundry. String lights come on in the evening for you to spend some time outside after sunset.

The manager and staff is also soo very nice and helpful!

The hotel is in a mostly residential area, which was pretty quiet and chill. There is a bar and beach side restaurant just a few minutes walk up the road. We drove mostly up to surrounding towns to get food, and with dedicated onsite parking this made it so easy to do!

Looking forward to our next trip back!

If it has not already been done, this property needs to be featured on some travel show for unique, retro motels. We stayed for 2 nights in a room with a king bed. The room itself was immaculate and beautifully decorated. The bed was soooo comfortable too!

The motel and grounds were beautiful and clean. And, it is directly across the street from a gorgeous beach. Sandra, the inn-keeper, was wonderful, friendly, and most helpful. They do have have extremely reasonably priced laundry on site, grills, and offer chair and umbrella rentals if desired. Plus, the room rate was very reasonable considering the close proximity to the beach. We didn’t have our dogs with us, but I was surprised to learn that they do allow pets in some rooms, which is another bonus.

Just 2 fyi’s: the shower stall in the room we stayed in was on the small side. It does look small in the photos, so it wasn’t a surprise, but worth a mention in case you need more room… The other thing to note is that the check out time is 10:00am. It seems most places are 11:00 am. I think they just need extra time because they appear to do a full deep clean between guests.

The bottom line is we had a great visit and would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

Such a charming hotel in a great location! We booked The Lookout, their 2nd story suite with a great view of the water from the huge living room windows. The retro motif in the rooms is bright, cheery and evokes a fun, relaxing old Florida beach town vibe. The pristine beach is literally right across the street. Beachgoers should opt for the Soak & Sun package (an umbrella, 2 chairs & 2 beach towels). Sandra and her team are lovely and so hospitable. She gave us outstanding recommendations for where to eat and places to go. The Helm was a fave of my girlfriend and I for brunch. We can’t wait to go back!

The Sunset Inn and Cottages is a little slice of heaven! The decor is so fun and the cottages remind me of being in the carribean. I stayed in The Coral Lee for 2 days and The Blue Lagoon for another 2 days. It was so peaceful that I extended my stay! Both cottages were squeaky clean with white bed linens, white bedspread and white towels. The kitchen had everything that you would need for your stay. They have showers outside by the cottages as well as in the courtyard, which makes it great for rinsing off after the beach. The beach is located literally less than one minute from the cottages and the hotel. Sunset beach is very quiet and not as “touristy” feeling as Treasure Island. The ocean is a beautiful blue/ turquoise color. This morning, when I left, I went over to the beach for one last swim, and there was a dolphin right beside me as well as a manatee. It was beautiful. You won’t be disappointed if you stay here. Sandra, the Innkeeper was very attentive, helpful and very responsive. When I decided to stay longer she had my next cottage cleaned super fast so I wouldn’t have to wait. I really appreciated that. I had my masseuse, Alex Cruz with Le’Excusite Mobil Massage 727-729-0559, come over for a 90 minute massage. (I used to live on the beach and he is my long time massage therapist) I highly recommend him!

VERY clean! Comfy bed and pillows. Simple room was all we needed. Warm welcome and helpful dinner ideas! Being so close to the beach was great yet not a speck of sand in the room!we loved the retro colors and vibe but it was freshly painted and clearly updated.

The location is perfect. It’s on an offshoot from the main road so there is almost zero traffic by the cottage after 5-6pm. The beach is literally a 30 second walk from your front door and it was never very busy and easy to find a good spot to setup. There is a beach restaurant and a tiki bar with live music about a half mile walk down the road. You have easy access to all of the beach shops and restaurants within a short drive from the property as well.

The property is dog friendly which was a huge selling point for us since we were bringing our dog and there aren’t very many dog friendly places around that don’t charge a ridiculous amount to have a pet. Sunset Beach isn’t dog friendly, but Sunset Park on the inlet side of the island is and is has a small beach for dogs to swim.

The courtyard of the property has outdoor games, hammocks, tables, and a grill that we used a few times. We stayed in the Blue Lagoon Cottage and it had everything we needed. The outdoor shower was a plus to wash the salt and sand off after being at the beach.

The only thing I disliked about it was that the waterproof mattress protector (understandable to keep sand and sweat out of the mattress) held my body heat and made me sweat at night. Other than that, no other complaints and I would definitely stay here again!

We had a fabulous week at this place. Rooms come in all sizes and configurations ranging up to two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The location could not be better. We were across the street from a parking lot which was right on the beach. Things are quiet at this end of Treasure Island and you won’t find businesses readily accessible within walking distance. We tend to spend half the day on the beach and the other half in the city doing activities. You must catch the sunset from the beach as it is gorgeous. The hotel provides chairs and umbrellas for a fee, well worth it. We cooked breakfast in, bought food for pack lunches and ate dinner out. you can check in late. Although we didn’t need any assistance, we always felt that management was just a phone call away. There’s a shared courtyard where you can sit and eat or drink as well as play games. Our cottage was absolutely adorable, and designed with funky touches. We felt like we were back in the 60s. The kitchen was outfitted with refrigerator and stove and microwave. There’s a Keurig coffee machine, but bring along your own capsules because they don’t give you many and they’re quite expensive at the grocery store. Shower was large and the water pressure was great. The floor of the shower had this fabulous mosaic. I would happily go back.

I absolutely agree that it was quite clean and the beach access is literally across a dead-end, two-lane street with very little traffic (as opposed to places like Clearwater where the street is a zoo, as is the beach).

I'm not familiar with The Serenity Cottage so I can't answer your question regarding the distance. However, the Sunset Inn, and the six related Cottages are conveniently located across the street from the beach. They are separated by a two lane, residential street.

No pool at the inn, but talk to the hosts to see if they have suggestions. It is about a mile or so south of Caddie's, just across the street from Sunset Beach.
