Sunset Vistas Beachfront Suites has received mixed feedback from guests, with some praising the scenic views and proximity to the beach. However, issues with the atmosphere have been noted, including loud music and outdated decor. Although service has been described as friendly by some, others have experienced poor communication and unhelpfulness.
Value has been a point of contention, as several guests feel the hotel's offerings do not justify the cost, highlighting the need for improved amenities and room maintenance. Cleanliness also varies, with calls for more thorough cleaning measures.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed here in November 2019, the last week of our 3 week holiday to Florida. The accommodation is set in a fabulous location on the beach and is central. The accommodation itself is great, modern and spacious and there isn’t anything you need. The pool area is clean and there is ready access to the fabulous beach. There is a bar near the pool with great staff whilst the in house cafe bar serves decent food at decent prices. Parking is also allocated so there is never any issue with parking which on Treasure Island is a huge problem. The beach is great, clean and you get to see dolphins a plenty, various sea birds including pelicans and if you are lucky the local fishermen are catching hammer head sharks from the beach . Price wise you can’t beat it.

My family of seven made a reservation for Sunset Vistas back in January of this year, for October, when nobody had any idea of how bad this virus was going to affect everyone.
Florida is our favourite family vacation destination and we’ve been travelling annually (at least) from Scotland for 30 years.
I had no hesitation in booking part of our trip at Sunset Vistas, for 5 of our nights, as a side trip from Orlando which our grandkids love.
I took full advantage of Providents 20% discounts for full payment at time of booking which , as part of the deal, is non refundable; fully confident that hell or high water we’d be there.
We all know what transpired, International air travel heavily curtailed and with the added bonus of vacation insurance not covering a pandemic.
I was fortunate that most of my outlay was returned to me by Virgin holidays and I was prepared to kiss goodbye to my $2100 paid upfront to Sunset Vistas, a deal is a deal!
However, I phoned Provident, the parent company last week and was able to speak with a very kind lady with a wonderful accent.
She heard out my story and immediately sympathised with my predicament.
I was offered an opportunity to rebook for a later date, suspend the booking without duration of time or receive a full refund!
How kind of this company to do this! They and I had made a firm contract which,by right, they could have held me to; but they didn’t.
I sincerely hope that those Americans that are lucky enough to be on vacation at Sunset’s beautiful location have a wonderful time in my absence.
If I’m spared, and can get insurance, I’ll be back to fulfil my intentions. Thank you.

We rented a 3 bed 3bath, which was great for grandkids and their parent with us. The unit was furnished nice and kept well, but I think they were still finishing off some of the shelves and shower stall shelves, but since it was so spacious we didn’t even use it all. Our bed was comfy and the pillows were perfect as well as linens. The appliances were all in working order and dishes were plentiful, but could use a better skillet or an extra one. We were on second floor, so it was great for using stairs if one didn’t want to wait for the elevator, but if you want more privacy, I recommend upper levels, also we were too close to the little bar, but maybe that wouldn’t bother most. During this difficult time of 2020, they were sanitizing well, but I thought there were too many people in pool that didn’t seem regulated. They had a nice beach with a good place to rinse off. The location is near great restaurants that are in walking distance. I do like the covered parking to keep things just a little cooler in summer. I love Treasure Island!

We just took a family trip and stayed for about a week.
What was great about our stay here was this: great location right on the beach but also within 20 min walk to Johns Pass and other places to eat/hang out (although a lot of places were closed during the week, only open wknds or other hours, I assume due to labor shortages?), great parking (you can see your car from your room!), good security on site (felt safe even with late hours), good visitor/guest parking, the grounds outside are immaculate (no trash at all, very well kept) and the beach access is great (complete with station to rinse sand off feet). Everything works, nothing is broken. The courtyard is very beautiful and makes for a nice little walk/pictures. Cafe on site has limited hours but food was good (lunch for family of 4 was 40-50$). I think the cafe had a few convenicent type items for sale but the Walmart was close and had great local options. Beach umbrellas/chairs available for rent (third party company on beach).
What was great about the room itself, it was awesome to have a full kitchen and washer/dryer. All of those appliances were newer and worked well (washer was a little loud but worked well). The kitchen sink was a little iffy, almost like the spray handle needed to be replaced, but that was it. The air conditioning was GREAT too, very col and very quiet. Kitchen has plates, pots, utensils. Ceiling fans in each room, lots of lighting options. The balcony is a little odd in that you can turn your head and easily see other guests but it didn't bother us much.
What could be improved about our stay was this: We had an incident where the previous guest/housekeeper/maintenance had broken glass of some type in the master bath and I was cut several times by it on accident, and we found shards of glass in the bathroom/bedroom. I handled this with the front desk, but moral of the story is that the rooms could have been cleaner. Bedding/sheets/pillows were good, but carpet/floor could have been cleaner (bring house shoes so your feet don't get dirty).
There was also construction going on, replacing toilets, flooring, etc, and this caused some random loud noises during the day. I wish we would have been told about this construction because it would have been good to prepare (ear plugs etc).
I'm not sure if I would stay here again or not, but if you don't mind dirty floors (aside from the broken glass incident) the grounds are beautiful and the beach access is OUTSTANDING, that beach cannot be beat!!

This place was really just what girls on vacation for a week needed. Each suite had 2 bedrooms and a living room, kitchen , washer and dryer, dishwasher in the suite. The place has a cafe for breakfast thru 5pm. It also has a bar with all your favorites. The pool is heated and pretty big. It's only 4 blocks from John's Pass or on this side of the bridge you have Gators with good food, drink and music too. We used Tampa Van to transfer us to and from the airport to here. They did an awesome job and with nice , new vehicles for a very reasonable price.

This was our second time staying at Sunset Vistas over the last ten years, and with this visit, I was not as impressed with the resort. While the gulf front view and beach accessibility was really nice, the resort needs an upgrade. The rooms are a bit dated and it not as clean as we had expected (even with Covid safety cleaning protocols).
The elevator broke multiple times during our stay. Not a big deal for us as we were only on the 3rd floor but certainly an inconvenience with those that may have physical limitations. Warning, do not stay in a gulf front room on the 2nd or 3rd floor as you will hear loud crowds at the resort tiki bar late at night. We didn’t realize our room was right above the tiki bar and we heard noise until 1am every night. On a positive note, the staff was very nice and professional. If we needed more towels or other items they were promptly brought to our room. Overall, it was a decent stay. The view made it worth it but I don’t think I’d be open to returning until the resort has some updating done.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed here, each visit prior our stay and room was wonderful, however, our room was no where near up to par this visit. Upon checking in into our room, the crib we requested was not there. I tried calling the front desk from our room, but the phone didn't work. I got through on my cell, and they let me know someone would bring it up. Meanwhile, I opened the closet for the extra blankets and pillows and they were wadded up, used and had blood stains on them from the previous guests. The couch in the living room was filthy and apart and our feet were black from the dirty floors and carpet. Staff did bring the crib and replaced the blankets and phone, however, the room is in major need of some cleaning and renovations. Surfaces were dusty and dirty, locks on patio foor didn't work. We love this location, the pools and proximity to the beach, but for the amount of money spent on the room, we expect something much cleaner and well kept. I was going to say something at checkout, but the front desk employee was so rushed and told me to put my key in thr basket and then she was on the phone. It makes us sad, but I don't know that we will return here for our yearly visit.

I was recommended this hotel by our travel agent in the UK and I was worried that I hadn't picked it myself - I shouldn't have been. For our family of 4 it was a great size and a relief after being crammed into one room at Universal. The fixtures and fittings were modern and the appliances huge and we had a lovely side view of the sunset over the ocean.
The front desk was helpful and friendly - suggesting restaurants, giving us extra bedding and redoing our door cards for us when they stopped working and it was great having an allocated parking space. I think housekeeping were due in on the second full day but we didn't need anything changing and I'm sure if we had needed anything else we could have got it from the front desk.
We walked over to St John's Pass for dinner twice and it didn't take very long at all and had day trips from here to Clearwater, Crystal River and Venice Beach.

Writing a real review of Sunset Vista…
I had apprehensions arriving after reading some of the reviews that the rooms where dirty, I actually stopped and bought Clorox wipes, which was not necessary.
We checked in and we were greeted with a smile and all our questions were answered. We came to our room and it was fabulous, no need for the Clorox wipes, even the floors were clean which is a hard feat at the beach when sand is everywhere. I checked the sheets and the beds, no bugs…clean as could be.
The pool area is what I would expect for a hotel this size, it is not as small as I feared after reading some reviews.
The Tiki Bar closed at 11 during the week so I can’t speak to it being loud all night on the weekends but I can tell you I slept with out slider open and wasn’t disturbed by noise.
Overall…it’s great and I will come back…I had a lot of anxiety for no reason at all!!

+1
We stayed as a family of 6 for 5 nights at the end of a Disney / universal trip. This was supposed to be the relaxing chilled out part of the trip. Could not fault the position of the place on the beach however for the amount we paid around $4500 for. 2 bed gulf front for 5 nights the room was no where near the standard I expect. The room needed completely renovating and must not have been thoroughly cleaned since covid evident by the depth of dust visible on skirtings light switches lightbulbs etc. All the furniture needs replacing as it must be around 20 years old. Cleaning needs to be brought back like other hotels in Florida the hard rock at universal has twice daily maid service so cannot see why trash cannot be emptied, towels changed and bathrooms etc cleaned here. When you are charging people that amount it needs to be backed up with a level of cleanliness and a good standard of fixtures and fittings. I did bring this up with reception and they said they would let management know but I have not heard anything.
