I really enjoyed my stay at The Sands. It is old school, for sure. Classic, friendly and absolutely all you need to enjoy the beautiful beach and sun of Treasure Island. Just steps to the beach, a pleasant walk to several relaxing restaurants, and a pool to float in. The rooms could use updating but served our needs well.

We recently had a 2 night reservation at this property. We left after the first night. This is a very old hotel, which I don't have a problem with. But it is filthy. There was dried blood on the box springs along with other mystery stains. The efficiency kitchen is original from 1946 and so dirty it was unusable. Shower...

PROS: - Friendly staff (real, not 'fake friendly') - Sleeps 6 - Oceanfront - Close to everything - Comfortable full-size beds - Kitchen - Quiet - Smells clean without air fresheners - Nice lightly-lit walkway between hotels and beach, good for joggers, strollers, walkers, etc. - Nice to have windows that open for fresh ocean air CONS: - Needs a...

Firstly the hotel staff were nice, location is great, pool is nice enough but that's it. Our room was disgustingly filthy. Every surface felt sticky and grubby. We didn't use the kitchen because it was so unsanitary. There were five of us staying in a 6 person suite but there was insufficient bedding, cutlery and crockery (if we had wanted...

Thought this motel would be great, in the 1940s design and on the beach, but unfortunately the pictures show a different look to the real thing. We paid over the odds to a modern motel in Orlando and the cleanliness of the appliance ,the Windows, the bath plug with more hair in it than my brother has on his head....

We had the best time! older place and old rooms but very clean. Family friendly and great staff. The rooms face either the courtyard, pool, or beach.....can't go wrong. Parking is not good, few spots in front of motel but they do have a parking lot across the street. Can't wait to go back next year.

Stayed at this place a few years back and wasn't real happy then, even worse this stay. I'm not sure where the people stayed that keep calling this place clean but it wasn't here. Walked in took my shoes and walked to the "couch" my socks were filthy. Next morning made pot of coffee and couldn't find clean cup in...

Location is great, close to restaurants, shopping and grocery. The view is beautiful but be ready to walk a long way to the ocean. The beach is the widest beach I have ever seen. The Sands is old but clean, very interesting kitchenette system in our room. Some of the clientele are rowdy partiers so not a place of someone...

People in office are very nice. Place is not what I expected except for the view. The place needs some major renovations and or fixing. Cleaning says daily housekeeping but we only had it every second day bed was made not changed clean towels but bathroom not cleaned.I notices when the cleaning lady was cleaning rooms of guests that had...

I have stayed here many times. This is my first spring break. It won't be my last. I have stayed at other places on the beach. Including prime condos. My kids always ask to come back here. This place has more to offer than you can imagine. The staff is so helpful. Our housekeeper has seen me grow up and...
