There are a few great things about this motel. 1 is the location and 2 is the staff. I had a Last minute reservation on spring break and I ended up with an gulf front room. My reservation had been cancelled due to overbooking on a 3rd party site. The staff made sure I had a room. It was not cheap 250-260+ per night. Parking comes at a premium. There’s often no spot available and you have to park across the street. The room was ok. Bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean. The soap bars provided don’t even lather. Bring your own stuff. The AC worked well. Linens were clean. Pillows comfortable. The one thing that drove me crazy was the seashell light fixture hung directly in front of the AC unit. It blows into it and it sounds like a wind chime all night when you want to sleep. The wifi is glitchy and the cable was good. My view from my room was nice. Glad I was not near the pool or in the courtyard. Too many kids a lot of drinking and It was loud. After a few days I noticed the pool was dirty. There were toys and crap all over the place. No one cleaned it at the end of the day. Housekeeping works hard. They come every 3rd day. The beach is a hike from the hotel. You have to pay to rent a chair and umbrella unless you bring your own. It cost $30/day. My 9’yr old enjoyed himself. And that is what matters. I doubt I will find myself back at the Tahitian Beach Motel. But you never know. …
We have stayed in Treasure Island/Madeira Beach for years, but this was by far the worst hotel ever!! Unfortunately I waited to long to make reservations and didn't have many places to choose from. The only rooms available where on the bay side, but they assured me they were nice and had all the amenities of "an apartment". The room was filthy and old! I expected an old Florida hotel, but this one is disgusting. Do yourself a favor and keep looking don't stay in the "apartments".
The motel staff was kind. However my suggestion is that if you like central air (not window units) or if you like showers at one temperature, this may not be a good fit. Hot water/ice cold water. Rough.
Stayed bay side and the room was dirty . Stained bed linens and dangerous electrical hazards in room. Bring your own cleaning supplies if you want to stay here. Keep alert in case your room catches on fire from shoddy electrical work .
I have stayed here many times and keep coming back but sadly this was our last stay. The price has increaed extremely! The bathroom had not been throughly cleaned in awhile there was a ring in the toilet to prove it. The bathroom door was gross appeared there was a flood and water sat on the bottom of the door. Paint is chipping all over. Usually inexpensive and you get what u pay for but for the price they charge now you can find somewhere nicer
