Detailed Reviews
We ended up here last minute since our previous reservation at another location did not work out. We are super glad we ended up at Westwind Resort. We got the two bedroom with master bed, two twin beds in second bedroom and a pull out sofa bed in the living room. It's super quite at night so sleeping is not an issue. There's a kitchen too and you can switch dirty bath and beach towels at the front office in the morning. The place is super clean, the beds are comfortable and the pillows are super soft. The pool is heated and there's an outdoor grill by the pool as well. There's a pedestrian crosswalk just 20 yards from the resort to go across to the beach and one block walking distance to Publix groceries so extremely convenient!
We go to St Pete for annually for the past 5 years but have stayed at different properties. However, we have found and decided to come back to Westwinds from now on. Dawn and Chad who run the front office are super nice and friendly. Definitely recommend Westwinds Resort.

We only stayed here for two nights but it was a lovely stay. Our room (208) had a waterfront view which was lovely. Watching the sun rise in the morning was amazing. It was great having two bedrooms so that our son could have his own space. Being able to sit outside on the patio and watch people on jet skis/boats with a glass of wine was so relaxing. The pool was nice and clean. The beach is a few minutes' walk, and I would recommend watching the sunset on the beach, it was beautiful. The facilities in the room were great and an added bonus of beach towels and beach chairs made it perfect. If I was to be really picky some of the furniture in the room is a little tired but it's a rental and how long do you spend in a room looking at the furniture. The main bedroom had a huge comfortable bed, and the shower was great in both ensuites. The only thing missing is a clothes airer for wet towels/swim wear. The room might have one, but we couldn't find it. We stayed in a deluxe two-bedroom apartment and it's well worth paying the extra.

2nd Floor Westwinds was quiet, it didn't seem like the place was that busy this past week, which was fine w/ me. Shopped around a lot and it's difficult to find a condo in this area that checks all the boxes, especially right on the ocean, w/ a pool, patio, hot tub etc.... for this price. This does not ck all these boxes but it's a good price for such a nice size place w/ plenty of room. My main issue was with the pool. Sand on the bottom all week, lower part of pool chairs dirty (looks like from people's feet) NO umbrellas. There's room (in my opinion) for 4, one at each corner of the pool. It's such a nice area but NO shade and you really fry in the sun trying to enjoy the pool.

We booked this hotel for five nights and checked out early, having spent three miserable nights with no air conditioning. Even without that problem, the unit was disappointing. The bed creaked like something in a Halloween House, the ceiling fans rattled (living room) and hummed (bedroom) constantly. The bathroom was so small one could barely turn around in it, offered only one small towel bar, and had no clothesline to hang a wet bathing suit even though there is a pool. The hodge-podge of furnishings looked like they came from a garage sale -- old and worn. Cleanliness was questionable.
When we left early, the hotel staff promised that we would hear from them within a couple of hours about a refund. Three days later we finally contacted Expedia, through whom we had booked the place; they contacted the hotel and got a refund for the nights that we did not stay. No compensation from the hotel itself for the nights without air.

We stayed in a main floor unit by the swimming pool. The customer service provided by the front office was top notch. Dawn and Amy were welcoming, accommodating, and pleasant to talk to. The unit was clean, everything functioned properly, and we were treated like guests. Free laundry was a bonus. Parking was organized, assigned, and never a problem. Our only nitpick was sketchy wi-fi, which will be rectified soon according to the management, with each unit getting its own router. We liked the ease of walking to Publix, and the excellent concrete walkway along the beachfront. The pool was clean and warm, and we enjoyed relaxing on the lounge chairs right by the intracoastal, literally a stone's throw from the unit. Sitting in the back by the water was beautiful, quiet, and a very intimate setting. It felt like we were in our own back yard. Terry & Heather from Winnipeg

After staying over Thanksgiving 4 years running, we had the nightmare experience thank to one of the newer owners of one of the properties. We tried everything to help the situation and the owner was reluctant to work with us, take advice and just chose to be difficult every step of the way. The entire property stands to suffer a damaged rep because of one owner's inability to be reasonable.

We usually stay in Indian Rocks but the prices have really gone up so decided to try Treasure Island.
Lovely welcome and early check in.
The condo was very clean and had everything we needed. We were on the ground floor, 105 and loved being able to walk straight out to the pool or dock.
We think our condo was a disabled unit, this meant the bathroom lacked anywhere to put things on around the sink, but we copied.
The pool was lovely to start, warm and quiet. However a large group arrived on our 3rd day and were very noisy around the pool. Also one of their children was sick in the pool! Everyone got out and left but not sure they reported it? (No-one on site as I would have reported it.) I did tell the office the next morning but sadly we then heard the pool pump had broken and due to the high winds the pool temperature quickly dropped.
Quick walk to the beach, great to be able to borrow beach chairs, wish we had an umbrella too as I got rather red despite my factor 50!
Would happily stay again if in Treasure Island.

Very nicely decorated, clean rooms, up to date. They provide beach chairs in your room. Our room (Room 312) provided a full kitchen, master bedroom (queen bed) and small single full bathroom. We could hear a little road traffic, but very little after 9pm. Elevator is directly across from room, you can hear it beep three times when someone uses it, but didn’t hear it much. Two TV’s in room, plenary of channels. Nice, but small pool area, less than 12 chairs/recliners. There was a grill and some other areas to sit near intercostal waterway. Also a few small docks you can fish from. Cross the street to gain access to Treasure Island beach, very short walk.
All in all, a nice property to stay at.

We reserved a 1 bedroom condo for a week and were very satisfied with our stay! It was our first time in the area and it was beautiful. The resort was within walking distance to restaurants, the beach, beach rentals, and scooter rentals. My boys love to fish so the docks off the back of the resort was an excellent amenity for our stay. We ended every evening fishing off the docks while the sun went down. The pool was well maintained, warm, and saltwater. The resort provided beach supplies and our condo was fully equipped with everything we could possibly need in the kitchen. It was a beautiful stay and the sweet lady in the front office was so helpful and nice.

Great condo, very clean, with everything you need in the kitchen. Amazing views from our room. I saw a dolphin from the room!
Free laundry. We needed that every single day. (You have to pay for your detergent.)
Short walk to the beach. The beach is great and very clean. Very safe for families with small children - the water is shallow and does not have big waves.
I could hear no noises from the street in front of the hotel or the boats passing behind our hotel. Zero. It was a peaceful stay.
The best of all was the human touch: Leslie. She makes a difference by taking care of each guest and she goes above and beyond her duty.
The rest of the staff was very friendly and helpful with hints for places to visit.
We will be returning with the rest of the family!

Yes, there are boat rentals at John's Pass.
If you have a car, it's less than a 5 minute drive north. If you're walking, about 20 minutes.
That would be a queen size
Its from dawn to dusk.
They have good air conditioning and ceiling fans
Wi-fi was reliable and kept 4 IPhone/Pads going. Not as fast as some places but OK for us.
"Great place for a short getaway. Love it! Only negative was water pressure too low in main bathroom. Other than that AWESOME. "Read full review
