Detailed Reviews
We had a great week at this Treasure Island hotel! We loved the staff! Jen, Ashley, Christiana, Shay, and Theresa made our stay the best by their diligence and careful consideration of our needs as a family with two small children. They always greeted us with smiles. The apartment was very nice with comfy beds and furniture. We also loved the location within walking distance of the beach.
We had a great experience at the Crystal Palms Resort largely due to the wonderful staff!
It could have been better stocked with essentials. There was no broom and dustpan which were essential in an apartment at the beach. Our children’s feet were continually dirty and sandy because we couldn’t clean the floor and there was not daily maid service. It also lacked important items in the kitchen such and kitchen shears, pitchers, sponge, tongs for cooking and most importantly a safe!
Theresa did go out to get us the pitchers so we could make tea and juice which we greatly appreciate.
Also for a resort to have such a limited supply of pool towels seemed odd. We had to wait till our second day to get any. When traveling by air from NY to Florida, one cannot possibly bring towels and kitchen tools from home; resorts typically supply those essentials.
Despite the minor shortcomings, it was a lovely week.

The room was spacious and very clean. There was a pool but we spent a lot of our time at the beach. Staff was very helpful. When we needed something housekeeping would bring it to our door and leave it in a bag for us. We were required to wear a mask when entering the lobby, but we had to wear them when we went in other places anyway.

Just returned from Crystal Palms and can say we really enjoyed our stay. We had family staying nearby in 3 other condo's all within walking distance, although they were directly beachfront. We are locals, so opted to save a bit by being on the other side of the street. All the family agreed that our Unit 302 was the largest and had the better balcony. I should point out, our Unit was very, very similar in design to these other 3 condos. Crystal Palm had a smaller pool - which was a real plus. As Red Tide was evident on the beach, everyone headed to the pool at my other families resorts nearby and they were PACKED! We enjoyed our pool without the congestion of soooo many people. The beds were comfortble and clean. small shampoos and soaps were available, but missed having Kleenex in the bathrooms. I would easily stay here again and simply cross the street for beach access.

It is very obvious that the listing photos were not of the actual location. Our unit was very dirty. I asked my husband to not complain because this was our first vacation since before the pandemic until our refrigerator leaked brown fluid. It was ‘after hours’ and there was zero help or supplies to clean this up., and at that point all of the “small” problems mounted up. They just told us it wasn’t their problem at the main site. Issues: The unit over all wasn’t clean. The master bathroom door looked like there was vomit on it. There was dirt on every baseboard, the bathtub and shower seams were decaying. You couldn’t even safely lock the balcony door, it was a plank of wood. On top of that the balcony was missing screws for the railing (we were on the fifth floor). The location was great, sure. But the site was understaffed (the staff there was awesome we feel bad for them) and it was gross. And zero offer for help when we called. We had a fan that didn’t work, outlets that didn’t work, light switches that didn’t work, and a ‘safe’ that just beeped all night because it was also broken. We cleaned all we could before we left and took out the trash but this entire company needs a re-haul and reassessment before Airbnb allows them to re-list. Not at all what we’d expect. Also, the listing didn’t tell us until days after booking, and past the cancellation date, the site had ‘covid’ restrictions with staffing issues (which were a selling feature in the listing, a lie) and didn’t disclose the horribly loud construction that started at 6am each morning that went well into the evening, making even talking or enjoying the pool there impossible. This was so frustrating and disappointing. Not safe for a family at all.

Where do I begin...please do not waste your time or money on this place. It is very outdated!! Filthy towels, dirty dishes, running toilet and roaches. We asked the one person working at the front desk for clean towels and she wanted the ones out of the room first which was fine. I put them in a trash bag and she took them out and counted them with her bare hands after they had clearly been used which was disgusting! There was a half bottle of dish detergent under the sink. No tissue in one of the bathrooms. A used roll of tissue in the other bathroom that was almost gone. Again decor extremely outdated. Dishes had food that had been stuck to them for quite some time and stove dirty. I was very disappointed and it was my birthday. I tried to make the best of it. The ONLY thing that was ok was the view. I will n never return! I wish I could give it a 0 which is what it deserves!

We stayed at Crystal Palms July 4th weekend. It was very dirty and not well taken care of. From the outside it looks great. Our unit was in dire need of new paint. The doors looked like they had not been cleaned since it was built about 10 years ago. The shower looked as if it hadn’t been scrubbed in years. The laminate floors in the bedroom had about an inch of dust and the transition from the bedroom to the bathroom was being held down with tape. There were repairs to the walls that hadn’t been painted over. We were supplied one roll of toilet paper per bathroom. When we asked for more after 3 days, we were given one roll and told that was all they had. I would not recommend staying here. There are many other great places on the beach for families to stay.

Our room (308) was dirty and worn. The upholstery on the furniture was dirty and worn. The moldings were dirty. The switch plates were dirty. The door handles are dirty. There is no office, housekeeping or maintenance staff on the property after 5:00. At 5:30 we discovered that one of the toilets in our room had something (toilet paper roll) stuffed in it and was not operable. There was no one on the property to take care of it that evening. We arrived at 4:15. Our room had just finished being "cleaned". The floors were soaking wet. The housekeeping staff had left a running load of linens in our room's washing machine. The guests are required to strip their bed and put all used linens, towels in a pile by the entry door. Also require the guests to take their garbage to the chute on the floor at the end of the hall. Threatened by a fine to do this. When we checked out the next morning, the manager gave us a $100 refund due to the toilet issue. We will not stay here again.

I am sorry your stay was disappointing. At check in our guests are told that we are temporarily open from 9-5 pm. If there are any issues, you are instructed to call our sister hotel and and someone will take care of the issue right away. Worn furniture and cleanliness issues are on us and I apologize for that and we will address with the owner of the unit and housekeeping. Hotels here are extremely busy and sometimes rooms are not getting finished being cleaned until later in the day. We still have to mop the floors but our apologies for wet floors. It is also common that guests are asked, not forced, to strip there linens and throw out your garbage to help us get the rooms cleaned faster. We would never "fine" a guest who does not do this.

This Resort is in a great location, close to beach and restaurants. Room sizes are perfect, the furniture is comfortable and the kitchen is stocked with needed dishes and pans. The beach is directly across the street and the sunsets can be seen from the room.

Staycation turned to nightmare! Started at check-in, The front desk agent is should not only no how the facts about the property and no the logistics of their job, more importantantly the should have impeccable customer service skills or at the least be engaging, polite and smile. The female that checked me in was none of those things, As I am standing at the counter she called someone and asked if a specific room was clean. I am only assuming that the person on the other end replied, "yes" because that is the room I was checked into. When we walked into the room, the first thing I noticed is the large sliding glass doors have no window covering. As begin putting my things down, the freezerwas dirty, the top of the refrigertor, looked as if had not been wiped off in months, there tracks of both sliding glass doors were black with dirt (not sand dirt), the shower tiles along the bottom were covered with mold. I live in Florida and due to the humidity mold grows quickly, but this was not one day of mold and these are cleaning products that can be used in Florida so that mold does not grow in the bathroom. I found pillows stuffed behind a chair in the bedroom, there were only 2 pillows on a King size bed. I found a large bug in a window sill. The floor had not been swept or mopped anytime recently. I have attached a picture of the amount of lent that I removed from the dryer. Most everything I have mentioned was a cleanliness issue and unsightly, the result of being lazy and careless could of started a fire. You will also see a photo where the transition stip between the bedroom and bathroom just laying on the floor, now the guests and the property owners could have a serious safety issue. My husband imeditaly went to the office to complain a diiferent front desk agent was on duty and she said the she did not speak english, (in english) and was unable to help us. I went to the foffice before check out this very front desk agent person was not accomidating at all. I was told I had to reach out to the sister property, she would make a note. I watched her write 2 sentences. When I called the sister property there was not a manager on duty and the GM was not their either. This use to be a nice property, and the people were great. I am not sure what has happened but, I feel like i was robbed of my hard earned money, their is an expectaion standard when someone spends money especially when it is with the hospitality industry.

MANAGEMENT: Big Disappointment. Last year when we came to Crystal Palms, I was given a coupon for 10% off the nightly rate. Before making the current reservation, I called Crystal Palms to get instructions about how to make the reservations properly.....so that the coupon could be applied. After a long discussion with Brittany and a female manager (I could hear her in the background), I was told that the coupon would be applied when we arrived. I proceeded to use Booking.com to make the reservations. In the “Special Requests” portion of the booking request, I indicated that I was told to “bring in the coupon and the cost would be adjusted at check-in.”
When we arrived, I turned in the coupon and was told that the manager had to overwrite the cost on the computer. EVERY DAY we stopped by the lobby for a receipt. EVERY DAY we were told that the manager had not had time to correct the price on the computer.
Sensing that something was wrong, the day before our scheduled check-out, my friend and I went to the lobby and requested to speak to the manager. The manager, Ryan, would not come out to the lobby to speak to us personally. He called the apartment as soon as we returned upstairs. He said that the coupon could not be applied because we were "stacking the coupons." He said that we had already received a discount from Booking.com. I related my conversation with Brittany and the unknown female manager to no avail. Ryan threw Brittany under the bus – stating that she didn’t know what she was talking about. His contention was that the coupon had to be used on their website. Ok – why wasn’t that fact communicated to me so that I could compare the pricing on the website as compared to Booking.com? He said that he could not override the price once the booking was set.
My issue is not so much the coupon. We did get a discount from Booking.com. However, Ryan did not have the courage to talk to us personally about this problem. He chose to avoid us for days and blame his employees. Whatever his reasons, this is not good customer service! His attitude is distressing because we really enjoy vacationing at Crystal Palms. My girlfriend and her husband felt that they would not go there again because of Ryan’s poor reaction.
