We came back for a third time with friends and as usual we were not disappointed. The owners,Carol and Mike, were very welcoming and remembered us from our past visits. Our cottages were nestled quaintly amongst the beautiful backdrop of palm trees, local artistry, and the blue of the Gulf just steps away from our doors. The rooms are welcoming with Jimmy Buffett inspired music playing to us as we opened the door to our cottage. Once in the room you are surrounded by pictures of famous places in the Keys, fresh flowers, and all the smells of a tropical island. Carol and Mike clearly want everyone who stays there to get the full impact of island life. The rooms are complete with a small kitchenette, and they even have a small cooler you can fill and take down to the waters edge. And speaking of the water, a pristine beach leads to water so clear that allows you to see so many different species of marine life. Its quite a show that goes on in their waters, day and night! There are comfortable hammocks speckled about the grounds under palm trees to just sway under and take in the blue, blue skies. This place is clearly one of our favorite places to go too, and I honestly can't wait to go back again. The day that we left, we went again to the waters edge to say goodbye, and as if on cue, a 3-4 foot stingray came floating up to the pier as if to say farewell...see you next time! Incredible!! The moment we left, we started planning our next trip back and planning to stay extra days there next time!!! It's a place to relax and rejuvenate your soul, and have a great time all at once.

I absolutely loved this place! There are 12 beach cottages, so even fully booked it is extremely private. Our cottage was immaculately clean. Each one has a different Florida theme and is decorated accordingly. When we entered our room, there were fresh flowers with our towels, in the bathroom, and even by the coffee maker. Beach music was playing quietly next to the bed. But really the best part is outdoors—there are plenty of beach loungers, and each pair of loungers has a table with built in umbrella. They are easy to move so you can keep your shade no matter where the sun moves. There are three generously sized hammocks swinging between The numerous palm trees. There is also a tiki hut, with a love seat and chairs around a wicker table. There is a ceiling fan to move the breeze, a tinkling fountain, and more beach music. We ate several of our meals out here. The paver driveway leads right out to the water via a boardwalk that crosses the pebbly sand and connects to the dock. There’s a small but perfectly adequate water access (which neither of the neighboring properties had, I noticed). As soon as you step into the water, you can see little tiny sponges and even corals. The water was amazingly clear, so you can see to the bottom even in six feet or more of water. Island Bay Resort also provides paddle boards, kayaks, snorkel gear, and lockers for diving gear. Pretty much everything you could want, they provide, and at no additional cost. I can’t say enough about how great this place was. I am already planning my next trip!

This was our 2nd stay at Island Bay Resort. Sometimes, in life, things are not as good the second time around. But this trip was even better! We were so happy that the Resort did not get wiped out in the hurricane. We went in June 2019 and the weather cooperated. Everything is here for your enjoyment, with the owners constantly on the property making sure everything is going well. 10 bungalows right on the beach. kayaks, snorkels, paddle boards,. No crowds, plenty of comfortable lounge chairs with sunbrellas on the beach. Each unit has a kitchenette and deck. If you are looking for a perfect place to relax, then this is it. And so many great places to go eat on the water (the owners have created a good list of options and they are so happy to give you great ideas). We will be going back!!

I wanted to take my wife on our first vacation in 20 years without any children, and I wanted to make it the best vacation ever. I could not have chosen a better place to book our stay. This was the best lodging I could have hoped for. Everything was clean, the owners are fantastic and very accommodating, and the location was away from any hustle and bustle. The private beach area really is private and so well maintained. If you want a quiet, romantic place to stay, this is THE PLACE!! Will be going back here for sure.

We loved staying at Island Bay Resort! The owners are wonderful—very knowledge about the area and so helpful and attentive to the needs of their guests. The place is like a garden very beautiful and meticulously maintained. Such a peaceful and relaxing setting with a beautiful view and many inviting seating areas scattered throughout the property. The cottages are charming and well equipped with attention to detail. The views and sunsets are breathtaking. I highly recommend this as a place to stay in the Keys!
