Stayed here for a concert that was down town. The outside upon arrival was a little in need of paint. The staff however was really incredible and the rooms and interior (which is what really matters) was all new and improved. The room was modern clean and comfy. If you are coming here for your kids Hockey events next door I would highly recommend it for the price!

Good location for seeing the sites of the Tampa area - we were tourists passing through. Good breakfast to start the day, friendly staff, and while the hotel is a bit older it was very well maintained and clean. Quiet location back from the road.

The Brandon Center Hotel is a a former Hampton Hotel, a slightly above average mid range hotel. Clean well appointed rooms, quiet, with a friendly staff that go the extra mile. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Lisa at the front desk who made a 3 star into 5! Thanks Lisa!

My room was very clean and we were welcomed into the hotel by a wonderful front desk worker Leon who was very nice and helpful. Breakfast in the morning had a great variety and the managers were kind. Highly recommend.

As a single woman who loves to travel, I plan my hotel choices in advance. I look at location, Tripadvisor reviews, safety, if breakfast is included, stuff like that. I felt pretty confident in booking the Brandon Center Hotel thanks to the reviews of other TA users. When I pulled in to the hotel, I was a little disappointed by the exterior. It looks like any one of a million other hotels built in maybe the 1980s or so, and you could see there was signage for a prior hotel owner, so I knew this was a hotel that had changed hands. That made me a little concerned. Those concerns went OUT THE WINDOW as soon as I entered the lobby. It's hard to explain what exactly it is that makes a hotel "welcoming," some combination of cleanliness, an airy feel, music playing, a full pitcher of ice water at the coffee station, a smiling face greeting you from the front desk... whatever it is, this hotel has it. Check-in was fast and efficient, and I was at my door on the second floor within minutes. I had reserved a king-sized bed with sofa room. When I walked in, I was immediately struck by the modern, dark wood cabinetry built into the exterior wall. The furniture was matching dark wood, and the couch and carpet (which seems new) brought together the neutral paint and chocolate brown furniture nicely. The room smelled amazing, fresh and clean. I have allergies and the smell didn't bother me at all, like it does at some other hotels where I stay. I started to settle in and found one thing that wasn't perfect: the fridge wasn't on. It had some water in the pan under the freezer and looked like it was maybe unplugged to defrost. I am a "don't sweat the small stuff" kind of person, so I just made a mental note to mention it at the desk when I left to head to Clearwater Beach for the sunset. The lady at the desk was very apologetic and assured me she would take care of it right away. And sure enough, when I got back a few hours later, it was working fine! Then the most peculiar thing happened. An envelope was slipped under my door, addressed to me. I opened it, and it was a handwritten note from the general manager apologizing for everything not being perfect in my room, acknowledging that it had to have been a disappointment and she had made sure that (this specific employee's name) took care of it for me, and that she appreciated my stay and hoped I enjoyed a nice beach sunset. It included her business card so I could get in touch with her if I needed anything else. WHO DOES THIS? Seriously??? Nobody. I have stayed in many hotels in my life, from the Motel 6 to the Ritz Carlton, and I've never had a hotel's manager personally write me a letter of apology for something being less than perfect. It may have taken her 5 minutes to write it, but the impact on my perception of the hotel's staff as being genuinely caring and eager to please was monumental. Big hotel chains, you need to take notes from the Brandon Center Hotel. THIS is how you do PR and customer service. I don't know if my travels will take me back to this area, but if they do, this is the ONLY hotel I will choose. It was safe, there were many choices nearby for shopping, dining out, and entertainment, free breakfast and free internet were great, and the bed was SO comfortable -- firm but not hard -- I wanted to take that comforter home with me! If you're looking for a hotel in the Tampa area, you'll be in good hands with these folks. Ms. Shannon, you rock!

Thank you so much for your glowing review! We are thrilled that you had such a great experience. As you had mentioned we are a formerly branded hotel that is now independent, but we do pride ourselves on being clean and giving the best service to our guests. We do our best to prevent any issues before our guests' arrival, but when something does go wrong we try to handle it immediately and with follow up form our management staff; we want our guests to know that we listen and care. We look forward to welcoming you back whenever your travels bring you to Tampa.
