It was close to the airport , so i was skeptical. But WOW- what a diamond hotel here. Clean is not the word- sanitary and safe for my family. This resort reminds me of a hotel in Hawaii. The boardwalk through the property was enchanting. I would take me coffee to the end of the dock and see fish and even a manatee! I felt like I was in heaven- and escape from the daily chaos and commitment of home and work. We came to visit University of Tampa- located quite close. Our room was beyond beautiful. Unoccupied for at lest 48 hours prior to our arrival- It smelled and looked above and beyond sanitary. Remote control in sanitized bag and housekeeping upon request. Parking was so convenient and the parking attendant was so friendly. Self parking for sanitary reasoning was understood and appreciated. both pools were clean and perfect.

Hotel's Favorite
The rooms were comfortable, clean, quiet, well-appointed. Two pools and a lovely walking path. I had a meal at Oystercatchers that was sublime. Also, we ate several times at 1823. Very good. Their chocolate martini was the best I've ever had. We left the grounds of the hotel to go sight-seeing and eat, but I could have stayed right at the hotel and been very happy.

I was excited to visit the Grand Hyatt as I’ve been making my rounds at different hotels to assess the similarities and differences in quality, policy, and procedures during COVID-19. I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted at the front door by a bellman who had on a mask. He opened the door for me and while this is always a nice touch it is especially a great touch right now because it was one less thing that I had to touch. I noticed that the bellman was opening doors for all guests which while small was one more point of great customer service that this Hyatt was doing to keep their guests safe. After I stepped into the lobby, I immediately saw a hand sanitizer station which I thought was placed appropriately for people to use right when they enter the building. As I approached the front desk, I noticed that all guests were wearing masks. I was informed that the hotel was doing their best to keep all normal activities and amenities as normal as possible. This meant I could look forward to daily housekeeping! Out of all of the properties that I’ve visited during this time this was the first hotel to offer this. The hotel also had social distancing markers on the floor to help encourage the guests to keep a safe distance. In the elevator there was a sign that requested that only 3 guests be in the elevator at one time. The pool and hot tub were open but there were occupancy limits to both the pool and hot tub to help keep safe distances. Once I arrived at the room there was a sign on the door notifying me that the room had been sanitized. Once I entered the room it was spotless from top to bottom. All stationery and pens had been removed. The remote had a plastic covering on it that informed the guest that it too had been sanitized. During my stay at the Hyatt I could tell the difference between a luxury property and midlevel and budget hotels. This property went above and beyond in their measure to keep their guests safe. I highly recommend that travelers select a luxury hotel for their stays during this period of COVID-19 if you want to feel extra safe and secure during your vacation. Steve showed amazing leadership as a manager during our entire stay. He was everywhere throughout the hotel helping out when needed. Josh made a great first impression at check-in and continued to provide excellent service throughout our stay. I can’t wait to return to Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay or any other Grand Hyatt, Andaz, or Hyatt Regency properties!

Currently staying at this hotel (and hope I can adjust my review). Checked in yesterday. My room for two nights plus incidentals was $418. I put my card in to pay, payment was approved and I got a notification on my phone the money came out of my account. The person helping me at the front desk told me it didn't work and I needed to do it again. I told this person it said approved and I got a notification on my account that the payment came out. She insisted that the transaction didn't go through and I do it again, so I did. Needless to say it took the payment out twice and my account is now down an extra $518 (2 incidental charges and a duplicate room charge). Called the bank, they couldn't really help until the charges aren't "pending" which could be a few days (in which time my short vacation will be over). Now I'm left here worrying about money that I should have in my account, but don't on a short getaway. $518 is a significant amount that I was relying on to do some fun things with, which I now might not be able to :( Sucks I did go back down to the front desk to ask for help, they said it's not showing anything on their end and there is nothing they can do, though I am even willing to show them the double charge on my bank account. The hotel itself is very nice. Great views, great pools, staff is friendly, going above and beyond to make people feel comfortable during covid. I should have put up a fight and not stuck my card in twice :(

The Grand Hyatt looks and feels like a luxury hotel. We enjoyed our stay there. I recommend paying more and stay on the executive floor. The room is beautifully decorated and the bed is very comfortable. The executive lounge has a good verity of food and beverages and its view over the Tampa Bay is wonderful. The parking garage is huge: unfortunately, they charge extra for its inevitable use (The hotel is near the airport, so it's either having a car or using taxis to get to the city). When you pay 300-400$ a night - the hotel can and should include the parking in the room's price.
