The hotel's cleanliness and service are highly commended, with travelers noting the spotless facilities and the warm staff. I spent this weekend at this property and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The friendliness and customer service of all staff was uncomparable to most other hotels I’ve stayed, which is hundreds. I originally planned on staying one night, but changed my mind around 4 AM to go ahead and extend for one more. I spoke with Tom at the front desk and, although my room appeared blocked for the next night in the system, he was able to override everything and keep me in the same room for the same rate. The room was a corner suite on the second floor directly across from the bar/restaurant. It was very spacious and well-kept. Every single employee I encountered at this hotel was friendly and customer oriented. The valet parking is the only option and it’s a bit pricey at $25 per night. But then again, it is directly in downtown Tampa. Tom from the front desk and I also had great conversation as I waited for a friend to return. Jonathan was also very helpful that check-in and the next day as well. Kudos to all the staff that keeps this property one of the best in downtown Tampa by far. Housekeeping ensures you are stocked up on everything from towels to soaps to lotions and everything you could imagine. If there’s anything you’re missing, the front desk is happy to accommodate you free of charge. I highly recommend Le meridian for any stay in Tampa. Thanks for a great stay and keep up the great work!

We booked 2 rooms on a recent visit to Tampa. Check in was easy and valet was helpful. Beds were comfortable and the breakfast was good. However, there were some problems with our stay. Upon entering both rooms on the 4th floor, we smelled a strong rubber-like smell. We considered switching rooms but were rushing to get to a dinner reservation and decided to forgo switching. We should have requested other rooms. Rooms are very dark as well. The other issue we had was on the morning we were to check out. We returned to our room after breakfast to gather our things to check out and the cleaning lady was already in our room preparing it for the next guests. The door was wide open. Our belongings were all still in the room and even after we entered the room she just continued to go about her duties. Couldn’t she wait for us to check out? Would not return to this hotel

While I enjoyed my room at the hotel and the cool vibe you got from the old courthouse, I am extremely disappointed by the amount I was charged for breakfast. I had just stayed at the AC Gainesville and was charged twice less than at le méridien for the exact same thing. I mean paying $21 for two scrambled eggs, a yogurt with granola and a double espresso feels like highway robbery. Other than that lalithia at check in was a sweetheart which cannot be said about the lady that checked me out... she really couldn’t care less! They should cherish their customers especially at this time when traveling has become so challenging. Apparently the receptionist didn’t care.... very disappointed!!

Dank, depressing and overpriced in a sketchy neighborhood. Our room was in disrepair. The wallpaper was pealing off the wall, the painted walls were chipped. The safe didn’t work and this morning the piercing smoke detector went off at 6am because of a low battery and no one to fix it because no maintenance until 7am. Maintenance told us it had happened the day before in other rooms and “they should probably check all the rooms”. Manager did offer to take $75 off a room that cost almost $400 but I would have rather been able to sleep in on a Saturday. Upon checkin we were told housekeeping was on request so I requested that the next day we get the room serviced. Late in the afternoon when the room had not yet been serviced I called front desk for service. Upon returning from dinner, our room still had not been made up and did not get the towels we requested until after dinner. In 2 days the room never saw housekeeping. Could not possibly think of a reason to stay here again.

We were in Tampa specifically to dine at Bern's steakhouse. We booked Le Meridian due to the downtown location and cost (not as expensive as other hotels). It is a very interesting historic bank building that was turned into a hotel. The ceilings are very high and the hotel was very quiet. We asked for a room on a higher floor (only 5 floors) and at the end of the hall (kind of hard as it is a large cube with 3 elevators). The front desk was very accommodating. We checked in early and our room wasn't ready. However when we came back after being out for a bit, we had a room in a small alcove, and it was very quite. We really liked the air conditioning! It got the room cold and made enough ambient noise that we never heard any guests. The bed was comfortable (though I can't figure out why hotels in hot climates think we need a heavy down comforter-even with the a/c set low, I was too warm). The bathroom is very nice with good shower pressure and hot water. The room has a small fridge which we were able to store our leftovers. If we are back in Tampa, we would choose LeMeridian again.
One additional comment. There is a large building under construction adjacent to the hotel so unless you get up early, you will need to ask for a room on the other side of the hotel to avoid the noise.

The exterior of the hotel is BEAUTIFUL! The lobby is also nice. The staff is friendly. It pretty much stops there. Issue #1) When we checked-in our room key did not work, so back down to the lobby to get a new key. The clerk gave us a new key & came with us to our room. The new key also did not work. Interestingly, his key worked, so he gave us HIS key & left us. Issue #2) The room was freezing. It was set for 72 degrees when we walked inn but was registering 66 degrees. We called the front desk who sent someone. We thought that they were sending someone to work on it, but they sent a woman who just looked at it, asked that we give it 30+ minutes, & if it still said 66 degrees by then that she would send a guy up to work on it. We were FREEZING! Nothing seemed to help until we turned the heat on & got it up tp 72 degrees. CRAZY! #3) Know that the hotel is a square-shape. There are rooms on the outside of the square, looking out at the city, as well as rooms on the inside of the square, looking at a courtyard of sorts. This courtyard doesn't have trees or flowers, it's all concrete & mechanical equipment. The absolutely worst, most depressing view one can imagine. While it was sunny out, our room was still somewhat dark. Sadly, we did not enjoy our stay at Le Meridian.

Good Afternoon Mr. Fletcher,
I am glad for your request. I have been a customer of the Marriott and Meridien brand of hotels for 30+ years and I always try to leave feedback about my stay.
Let me start by recognizing the professional, helpful and friendly check in by Lalithia (I hope that this is the right spelling). She made us feel welcome, acknowledged my Titanium level, and was able to arrange a late checkout with the cleaning staff. Checkout was also smooth.
The location of the Tampa Meridien Courthouse is very convenient and the building very impressive. The room was clean, just the right size, and the bed very comfortable. Also, we were very pleased about how quiet it was at night.
Only negatives had anything to do with breakfast. First, your website advertises Illy coffee, one of our favorites, in the lobby but it was not the case. I try to use the coupon left in the room for a free cup at the Illy Caffee, but they only offered brewed coffee and it was almost cold. I asked if I could get instead an espresso, but not without paying. Incredible for the price of the room!
Finally, at check-in, I requested breakfast instead of the 1000 points, to discover that oatmeal, or any type of healthy choice bowl, was not on the menu. We could only get a couple of eggs, not something we enjoy at breakfast. I requested to get the points and we went down the street for a great bowl of oatmeal and cappuccino for about $12 a person. The point I am trying to make is that sometime the difference between a good experience and a great one are the little things.... hope you agree.

A short review since this is a pretty easy 5* rating on a 4* hotel, a real deal at a $100-150 price point. Ambassador here, for context. Status was recognized, no real accommodation beyond late checkout, but none was requested or needed.

The property is great. Historic, not a bland box, it’s an old courthouse. Expect some eccentricity and oddities as there are only so many things you can do to a historic property. I really want to come play one day with my camera gear and run a photo shoot in their hallways — they’re gorgeous.

The unexpected winning feature here is the bar— great selection and service! Great job F&B team, you totally made my short stay be more memorable. I love the Le Meridien gems like this one (and Le Meridien Indianapolis, where the Spoke and Steel folks to this day set my high standard for what a LM can be), where bartenders are way beyond what you expect in a typical 4* hotel setting. Serious compliments here — this might be my second favorite LE Meridien F&B program and service within the US.

Location is what it is. It’s a bit quiet nearby, but that’s not the hotels fault. Plenty of good stuff nearby a short Lyft ride away, and the hotel is well equipped to help steer you in the right direction.

Valet and front desk staff were friendly and accommodating.

Only downside was housekeeping ignoring the privacy sign and ignoring my late check-out accommodation. Ask the front desk before you wake me up, please — and sorry if I was a groggy jerk when you knocked. The five stars was firmly cemented such that I overlook this.

If you plan on making a reservation six months in advance to be organized and ensure a fair price for a room this is definitely NOT the place to stay. We had an upcoming reservation for April that we booked in November. Because the hotel realized there was a Taylor Swift concert the night of our reservation they canceled our room because they could make three times the amount when we booked. COMPLETELY DISGUSTING and pretty sure against the law. They didn’t even notify us and the only reason I knew was when I checked my Marriott account to check my upcoming stays. Also we are Titanium Elite members. This is an amazing way to treat extremely loyal customers.

Stayed 4th of July weekend, hotel was deserted as was most of downtown. Definitely not the hotel's fault. It's quite charming and a little odd being an old courthouse. I liked it though. Rooms have very tall windows, original oak doors, and gigantic windows. Good location to most attractions. Staff was pleasant, if not overly so. I have stayed at Le Meridien before and the brand is not as friendly as a Marriott, but that's ok. Loved the toiletries, room was not serviced due to the pandemic, but they did provide fresh towels and collected the used ones. I would stay here again

breakfast was not available when I was there in July. The lounge was only open Fri-Sun I believe. The pool had normal hours but I don't know about the sun, I only went in at night. The pool is right against the building, so I can see where sun might be an issue

Yes, the hotel is very flexible about late check-out but call in advance as they will select your room to accommodate your late check-out.
