Very good and well-maintained property. The room was spacious as well as closet, lots of space for all your things. Soft, cozy bed! The rainfall shower head definitely was a nice plus. We ate breakfast at the Bizou restaurant and had a delicious meal with quick and efficient service. Counter service with coffee and pastries for take-out also available.
Good Afternoon Mr. Fletcher, I am glad for your request. I have been a customer of the Marriott and Meridien brand of hotels for 30+ years and I always try to leave feedback about my stay. Let me start by recognizing the professional, helpful and friendly check in by Lalithia (I hope that this is the right spelling). She made us feel welcome, acknowledged my Titanium level, and was able to arrange a late checkout with the cleaning staff. Checkout was also smooth. The location of the Tampa Meridien Courthouse is very convenient and the building very impressive. The room was clean, just the right size, and the bed very comfortable. Also, we were very pleased about how quiet it was at night. Only negatives had anything to do with breakfast. First, your website advertises Illy coffee, one of our favorites, in the lobby but it was not the case. I try to use the coupon left in the room for a free cup at the Illy Caffee, but they only offered brewed coffee and it was almost cold. I asked if I could get instead an espresso, but not without paying. Incredible for the price of the room! Finally, at check-in, I requested breakfast instead of the 1000 points, to discover that oatmeal, or any type of healthy choice bowl, was not on the menu. We could only get a couple of eggs, not something we enjoy at breakfast. I requested to get the points and we went down the street for a great bowl of oatmeal and cappuccino for about $12 a person. The point I am trying to make is that sometime the difference between a good experience and a great one are the little things.... hope you agree.…
I love the setting in the old courthouse that offers spacious rooms, with massive ceilings and windows. The 2nd floor bar and reception area is so comfortable to post up and work all day in. The staff are brilliantly friendly and always available. I stay here every time I am in Tampa for work, and this si often.
If you plan on making a reservation six months in advance to be organized and ensure a fair price for a room this is definitely NOT the place to stay. We had an upcoming reservation for April that we booked in November. Because the hotel realized there was a Taylor Swift concert the night of our reservation they canceled our room because they could make three times the amount when we booked. COMPLETELY DISGUSTING and pretty sure against the law. They didn’t even notify us and the only reason I knew was when I checked my Marriott account to check my upcoming stays. Also we are Titanium Elite members. This is an amazing way to treat extremely loyal customers.
The housekeeping folded our clothes that was out so neatly on the bed and valet was very friendly and sufficient and front desk was always greeting and inviting everyday even though the off wood doors and marble stairs was off and the grey sad inside of the rooms were a bit strange to me I must say this was a great hotel and it was cozy and very clean. Thank you for the short vacation 🙂
Since we arrived we felt soo good. The hotel is part of the history and feels really amazing. The room was niece and quite and we really had a good night sleep.. Our dinning experience was amazing, food and service. We really enjoyed our stay.
We were in Tampa specifically to dine at Bern's steakhouse. We booked Le Meridian due to the downtown location and cost (not as expensive as other hotels). It is a very interesting historic bank building that was turned into a hotel. The ceilings are very high and the hotel was very quiet. We asked for a room on a higher floor (only 5 floors) and at the end of the hall (kind of hard as it is a large cube with 3 elevators). The front desk was very accommodating. We checked in early and our room wasn't ready. However when we came back after being out for a bit, we had a room in a small alcove, and it was very quite. We really liked the air conditioning! It got the room cold and made enough ambient noise that we never heard any guests. The bed was comfortable (though I can't figure out why hotels in hot climates think we need a heavy down comforter-even with the a/c set low, I was too warm). The bathroom is very nice with good shower pressure and hot water. The room has a small fridge which we were able to store our leftovers. If we are back in Tampa, we would choose LeMeridian again. One additional comment. There is a large building under construction adjacent to the hotel so unless you get up early, you will need to ask for a room on the other side of the hotel to avoid the noise.…
This is an amazing hotel, plus the fact its an old federal courthouse makes it very unique for history and architectural buffs. Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Slight issue with gift card system not working at checkout, but manager arrived promptly and fixed issue quickly. Rooms are very clean, great shower, beds are like sleeping on a cloud. Dont let the negative reviews sway you. We will definitely be back!!
We stayed at the Courthouse in January for three nights prior to departing on a cruise. The building is beautiful as is the outdoor pool area. The gym was adequate although the first time I went there were no wipes. We were not offered assistance with our luggage when checking in despite obviously struggling with bags. We had a room with two double beds. There was only one bedside table so I had to use a suitcase. There was insufficient seating with just a desk chair. I don’t think I have ever stayed in a hotel in the US or Canada without coffee making facilities. There was information in the room advising to request a coffee machine but when contacting reception I was advised “there are none at the property”. This is just bizarre - nobody wants to go downstairs to get a coffee in the morning before getting dressed. We didn’t eat dinner or drink at the hotel as there are so many options nearby. On our last day we did eat breakfast in the cafe. The food was all served in individual plastic dishes even though we were eating in; more work needs to be done on sustainability. On our return we stayed at the Westin Waterside which was a much better experience.…
I wasn't going to review... our stay was wonderful..... and so many people nowadays post only bad reviews. I wanted to let the staff know that there was nothing more they could have done to make our stay better!
