A short review since this is a pretty easy 5* rating on a 4* hotel, a real deal at a $100-150 price point. Ambassador here, for context. Status was recognized, no real accommodation beyond late checkout, but none was requested or needed. The property is great. Historic, not a bland box, it’s an old courthouse. Expect some eccentricity and oddities as there are only so many things you can do to a historic property. I really want to come play one day with my camera gear and run a photo shoot in their hallways — they’re gorgeous. The unexpected winning feature here is the bar— great selection and service! Great job F&B team, you totally made my short stay be more memorable. I love the Le Meridien gems like this one (and Le Meridien Indianapolis, where the Spoke and Steel folks to this day set my high standard for what a LM can be), where bartenders are way beyond what you expect in a typical 4* hotel setting. Serious compliments here — this might be my second favorite LE Meridien F&B program and service within the US. Location is what it is. It’s a bit quiet nearby, but that’s not the hotels fault. Plenty of good stuff nearby a short Lyft ride away, and the hotel is well equipped to help steer you in the right direction. Valet and front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. Only downside was housekeeping ignoring the privacy sign and ignoring my late check-out accommodation. Ask the front desk before you wake me up, please — and sorry if I was a groggy jerk when you knocked. The five stars was firmly cemented such that I overlook this.

First of all, the old building really looks amazing and is very well maintained. Rooms are sizeable and comfortable. Breakfast was disappointing / it felt abandoned and from what we saw also fairly expensive. But location is really great. We asked at the reception where to go for the night amd were recommended a nice walk at the river with an amazing food market at the end and a rooftop bar which was very nice. The next day we asked what to do during the day (as the last tip was so great) and were sent to ybor which was again close by and great. Would have loved to go there in the evening again. But back to the hotel, it was very clean, friendly, welcoming and very modern despite being in am old building. So overall leaving with a very positive impression. Would certainly considering coming back.

While I enjoyed my room at the hotel and the cool vibe you got from the old courthouse, I am extremely disappointed by the amount I was charged for breakfast. I had just stayed at the AC Gainesville and was charged twice less than at le méridien for the exact same thing. I mean paying $21 for two scrambled eggs, a yogurt with granola and a double espresso feels like highway robbery. Other than that lalithia at check in was a sweetheart which cannot be said about the lady that checked me out... she really couldn’t care less! They should cherish their customers especially at this time when traveling has become so challenging. Apparently the receptionist didn’t care.... very disappointed!!

Stayed 4th of July weekend, hotel was deserted as was most of downtown. Definitely not the hotel's fault. It's quite charming and a little odd being an old courthouse. I liked it though. Rooms have very tall windows, original oak doors, and gigantic windows. Good location to most attractions. Staff was pleasant, if not overly so. I have stayed at Le Meridien before and the brand is not as friendly as a Marriott, but that's ok. Loved the toiletries, room was not serviced due to the pandemic, but they did provide fresh towels and collected the used ones. I would stay here again

The hotel is beautiful we were upgraded to a corner room that was huge, all of the staff we interacted with was pleasant and helpful. There are many restaurants in walking distance. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Tampa!
