The hotel was quiet, very clean, and within walking distance of plenty of dining/drinking options. The Netflix option on the TV was cool as well. I was traveling for work and had a noon check out but my conference went until 3. I had asked if there was a luggage storage option. They were kind enough to extend my check out until 3 PM for no extra cost. Very friendly staff!
This hotel is beautiful inside and out! I wish we had a longer stay than just one night! The room was very clean and very beautiful! The bed was very comfortable and the room was extremely Clean!!! There isn’t a mini fridge or microwave in the room but there is a microwave in the lobby area for guests and also behind the desk are cold drinks, wine, beer, and liquor. There is also a market inside of this hotel! I can’t wait to stay at The Renaissance again!
As a Marriott Titanium Guest, our family [husband, wife, two young daughters] decided to enjoy a "Staycation" for five (5) nights at The Renaissance Tampa International Plaza Hotel over Labor Day Weekend. Needless to say, our stay was absolutely sublime! This full-service luxury hotel [287 rooms and 6 suites] is located in the nicest / most prestigious indoor mall in Tampa, International Plaza, and just a scant 3 miles away from the Tampa International Airport and less than 5 miles to the Ben T. Davis Beach along the Tampa Bay. Since the hotel is located in International Plaza, there are numerous shops, bars and restaurants of all varieties just steps away. In other words, the location of the hotel is ideal to explore the greater Tampa Bay area. Immediately upon making our five (5) night stay using Marriott Bonvoy points, we emailed General Manager, Jim Bartholomay and Front Office Manager, Edward Davila and inquired of the safety precautions employed at the hotel due to Covid-19 and further advised them of our upcoming stay as well as our multiple special requests related to our Labor Day Weekend "Staycation", including storage of our four (4) bikes to take advantage of the Courtney Campbell trail in very close proximity to the hotel. In short order Mr. Bartholomay replied to our email in which he outlined a lengthy list of CDC recommended safety precautions implemented at the hotel and he readily granted ALL of our special requests. This timely and comprehensive response from Mr. Bartholomay did not come as a surprise to us given how active he is in reading and promptly replying to their guests on Trip Advisor as well as the Marriott.com website, which is but a mere sign of his commitment to exemplary customer service. Since we are local, I had an opportunity to personally meet with Mr. Davila a few days prior to our stay and he showed me the enhanced cleaning procedures throughout the hotel and made certain to reconfirm our reservation as well as our special requests. Not surprisingly, we were overjoyed with such a response from Mr. Bartholomay and Mr. Davila and really looked forward to our upcoming five (5) night stay at The Renaissance Tampa International Plaza Hotel over Labor Day Weekend. Our initial visit to the Renaissance Tampa International Plaza Hotel did not disappoint, especially when we arrived for a very early check-in (approximately 9:15 am) with our luggage and our bikes to find out that Mr. Bartholomay had provided us with a complimentary upgrade to one of the hotel's gorgeous Suites based upon our elite status and availability. The check in process with Ashley F. and Saida K. and was a breeze and after safely storing our bikes in a locked / secure storage area, we arrived at our Suite in no time (825 / 823). Upon arrival to our gorgeous Suite on the 8th floor with panoramic views, everything was exactly as we had requested with absolutely no detail left out. After checking in to our Suite, we returned to the front desk to personally thank Ashley F. and Saida K. for the special touches in the Suite, including a framed picture of our family. What an incredible and delightful surprise! We simply loved our gorgeous Suite, which which was large and luxurious, with three (3) separate and distinct parts. Part 1 of 3 was the main entryway which opened to a large common area with a complete living room set include couches and side chairs, a large LCD flat screen TV with both cable and internet channels, a massive dining room table, a marble wet bar with microwave, nice-sized refrigerator, a sink and numerous plates, cups and utensils as well as a 1/2 bathroom. Part 2 of 3 was a connecting bedroom for our two (2) young daughters with two (2) Queen beds, a full bathroom, a storage area for clothes, a desk and chair, a safe and a nice-sized flat-screen TV. Part 3 of 3 consisted of an incredibly comfortable King-sized bed, a desk and chairs, a chaise lounge, a chest of drawers, a closet with a built-in electronic safe, another huge LCD flat screen TV with both cable and internet channels and a HUGE bathroom which consisted of two (2) marble sinks and mirror, a huge shower with both a rain forest shower head, a separate soaking tub and a small separate room for the toilet bowl. Our Suite contained four (4) thick and luxurious robes and comfortable slippers. All three (3) of the beds were very comfortable and the housekeeping staff provided extra towels [all thick and soft], ample bath products and several bottles of complimentary water each day. Further, the cleanliness of the room was exemplary, including hand wipes, and for this we want to recognize the entire housekeeping staff. The complimentary high-speed Wifi was excellent. See our twenty-one (21) photos of our gorgeous Suite attached to this review. As our Marriott Titanium amenity, we enjoyed a freshly made breakfast by George each morning. Highlights of the daily breakfast included the Starbucks coffee, freshly-squeezed orange juice, divine avocado toast, the belly-busting Huevos Rancheros breakfast wrap, the tasty Cuban breakfast sandwich, crispy bacon, sausage links, perfect breakfast potatoes, fresh fruit and steel-cut oatmeal. We simply emailed the front desk the evening before such that our breakfast would be ready at the precise time we had requested the next morning. George was on hand each morning to personally make our breakfast to order and encouraged us to ask for anything that we wanted (even if not on the menu, such as the fresh cut fruit and the steel cut oatmeal). We all left breakfast every morning bursting at the seams (in a good way) and for this we couldn't thank George enough. Even better, on more than one occasion, George offered to put together a private dining experience the next time that we are at the hotel, which we can only imagine will be stupendous. Thank you for everything, George, and we cannot wait to take you up on your offer for a personalized private dining experience with you! Besides the foregoing, we enjoyed complimentary access to the large and well-equipped fitness center (with sanitizing wipes throughout and certain machines blocked off for social distancing purposes), the HUGE heated pool and the 10 person hot tub in a private setting with lush tropical plants. We enjoyed all of the above daily, especially the peacefulness and tranquility of the heated pool and hot tub. Every team member with whom we came in contact on an almost daily basis, including Mr. Bartholomay, Mr. Davila, Saida K., Ashley F., Eric W., George, the rest of the front desk staff and the house-keeping staff really went out of their way to make our entire family (especially our two young daughters) feel welcomed. The extraordinary customer service that we received before and during our stay made this property an eleven out of ten in our book! Congratulations to Mr. Bartholomay and Mr. Davila for assembling such a great team and leading them with a overriding goal of excellent customer service. We cannot wait to return, especially for George's exclusive private dining experience. You will be well served by selecting this luxury hotel for your base of operations in the greater Tampa Bay area. Rest assured, you will not be disappointed!…
No shuttle, no room service, food is terrible, restaurant converted to a take out at best. The mall food court is much better deal. The hotel has let itself go and the verified bed bugs in at least 5 rooms is not worth visiting. It is a fake 5 star hotel with nothing to offer and want to charge 104 a day to park in the mall. the manager is old and has been there too long, the assistant manager is a interior decorator at best and the entire hotel is worthless. Cold food and expired after 10PM and only the night staff are good people. This chain will go down as the worst hotel in a mall and should be converted to a store at best.Football team staying there BUCS should find a better location like AC hotel across street. Dont bother coming to this dump and save yourself some headaches and money.Courtyard and residence in are better deals..…
