Went to the Hard Rock in Tampa for a couple of days getaway.... If it wasn't for all the smokers and the smoke I would rate it a 5...but the smoking is hard to get away from... granted there is a smoke free upstairs but it is much smaller and limited in game choices. We valeted the car, worth the 25.00 not to have to walk from parking garages and stayed in the East tower. room was really very nice almost had a newer feel. The only downside would be the glass partition in the shower which looks into the bedroom area, not a lot of privacy...and we had difficulty with all the lightning...sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't, never could figure out how to get the bathroom lights to go all out. the guard to the elevators to the East tower was a plus in checking the keycards to make sure you were a guest.... The casino was clean and well maintained....if not for ashtrays and cigarette packages left behind. All of the staff we had contact with were friendly and helpful. The meals we had at the different restaurants were all good.... in short...or long! it was a fun time and we will definitely go back.…
No issues with self parking. Upon entry to the building, the cigarette smoke hits you in the face. Easy check-in. Had to walk thru the casino to get to the hotel elevators. Heavier smoke! The room was well appointed with a wonderful bathtub that you can actually stretch out in! Downside was the noise in the hallway during the night. Loud people returning to their rooms and slamming doors. My wife did not sleep due to noise. We left at 3am. Not a place I would stay again.
Stayed 1 night on 7/16, booked a room in East Tower, Gold Suite. Easy valet, prompt and friendly greeting and check in process. Suite was great, very modern, very well maintained. Be careful to see if room is 'accessible' if yes bathroom is modified for disabled guests and shower is tough to use. The property is very well maintained but there is cigarette smoke everywhere, it's so strong that it permeates any item you have in the area, clothes, suitcases, etc. We made several efforts to tough it out but couldn't. There is a non-smoking gaming area but it didn't provide any relief at all. Property, room and service are all 4 stars and above but cigarette smoking just spoils all of that. Ironically all the gaming tables have plexiglass up at tables and dealers were masked, it's difficult to hear the dealer and plexi-glass is not clear. Ironically these properties care about COVID but less about all of their non-smoking guests inhaling hours of second-hand smoke. If not for the smoke we'd return but until that changes would recommend alternatives.…
If this place wasn't a monopoly, they would certainly be in trouble. But since they are a monopoly in the state, they can do whatever they want to their customers. This place is a DUMP! I can't see how anyone can say that it is clean because it most definitely is NOT! From the parking lot to the entry areas to the casino floor, it is FILTHY! We tried to get help in the slot area and some very obnoxious older man walked by and we asked him if he worked in this area, his response, NO NO ONE works here, in a very un friendly tone. We checked the prices in one of their restaurants and they are not ashamed to take your money there either. RIDICULOUSLY over priced! If their casino is this dirty, we wouldn't even consider staying in their hotel. So we left. If Hardrock had any competition from the REAL casinos in Las Vegas, they wouldn't know what to do.…
My husband & I had an outstanding meal at the Hard Rock Cafe...prices were really fair for the level & amount of food...waitress & hostess...super nice & helpful....bought 3 shirts at the connected store & had a nice cocktail watching folks gamble ...can gamble while sitting at the bar too....I will say my only negative is my own lack of understanding exactly how the slot machines work....I would loose heart cause I didn't know how to play exactly......I would have played longer if I had some basic beginning guidence...but I can't expect someone to babysit me to start...so...I left with a huge roll of money I didn't spend...felt kinda stupid....but my husband went off & he won....guessing his way...he probably would have dropped it back in the machines if he knew more as well.....we live on Gulf beaches near Clearwater........wish we could have understood the betting better.....I would have played craps if they had it....but...I guess I try to learn more about the new slot machines somehow before I ever go back....Loved the Casino tho....& Really felt welcome in stores & cafe ❤️…
I did a prior reveiw as our stay was horrible- I was contacted by Carl M. a front desk manager- This time he delivered on his promise and our stay was great. We had a room on the East Tower 4th floor deluxe king- WOW- beautiful room - the updates are amazingly beautiful- calming colors and the room was hands down the best!! The East Tower was by far more updated- We ate at Cancel Oak- amazing service and dinner- My favorite was the Noodle Bar- Asian food- OMG the best we ate there 3 times lol! The service on the floor was excellent much more staff this time - easy to get drinks while gaming- Again staff were super nice and quick. Its evident they have more staff. I played all over and came out pretty even- We spent some time in the high roller room which is where I won the most- back by the food court and my white russians were free and yummy. I do not have any complaints- But I will say one thing negative- nothing to hurt my reveiw- But drinks should be free on the floor if you are playing- basic like vodka OJ ect. Also I would say the staff at the bars were not very friendly- but the drinks were yummy! My favorite this time Watermelon Smash!! Overall This was a great stay- staff has been increased and service was great- Front desk staff was so amazing this time sweet and smiling. Great Job Carl M. I appreciate your extra touch with the room on the East Side!! The service overall is exactly what I would expect from a Hard Rock property!…
My husband and I have been going here for 1 year now. We take turns gambling the slots. He always loses I always win our money back. This time we won $5500! Pretty cool. Their security was once rough with my mother in law she fell asleep leaning on a game while waiting for us. Whatever you do dont do that. And I wonder if they ever comp or gives better rates for repeat guest? Its pretty clean and out of many times going we only had bad service 1 time. We stay away from the 2 cent slots and up they take your money too fast. We like to take our time. Stick to the one cent machines you will be there all night! Haha.
For some reason we paid 3 times a normal room cost. Still not sure why, perhaps due to a concert. That isn't the issue as our room was very nice. We arrived at 5:00 PM expecting our room to be ready and the staff was totally non sympathetic and said they are not responsible for having the room ready at 4:00. We waited until 6:00 and complained to concierge as my husband was on a walker and needed to get to our room to relax before going to our son's birthday part (which we were already late for). She was a little more understanding and and said she could give us a double queen room instead of the king we were suppose to get. Also she added that we would get a credit of $30 for our inconvenience. Upon checking out, we inquired about the credit and the gentleman said there wasn't a note of that but he would certainly send that to administration. The big mistake we made was not getting names or a receipt because to this day we have not seen a credit. Needless to say, we won't be staying there again.…
I have been going to casinos for over 30 years . I have seen so many conflicts most were well handled by security. The incident I witnessed as I watched a player jump into the face of my wife (who was a table game supervisor) yelling obscenities and spitting. She asked the man to back away calmly until he refused . She then reached her hand up and moved the man's face from inches of her own as he continued to cuss and spit into her face. What surprised me even more was there was no security around to protect her. She ended up getting fired for touching a guest. It was very obvious that this man knew what he was doing . The end result was just as he planned. I have never seen anything so obvious as he taunted her before and after the incident saying out loud. " you touched me , your in trouble now. Did everybody see that? " bottom line the casino fired my wife and also failed to protect her by not having security available. I myself had to walk around the table to stop this guy from coming after her a second time. Although my wife was upset she lost a job she really loved. I told her that she really do not need to work at dangerous place like this. I can't believe they don't protect there employees and in essence any customer can walk in that building and spit in the face of there employees with the end result of firing the employee for defending themselves . A simple hand movement to get that patron out of her face got her fired. Nice job hardrock...God bless your employees ...very poor security . Very poor response to remedy this situation. But I'm sure it means nothing to you. As it impacts the life of someone trying to work for you and defend your game rules.…
I've collected data from each of my 45 visits to Hard Rocks casino located in Tampa FL. This is what I have found to be factual...The games are literally turned on to play and then preset with a specific program which is consistent amongst all games the rest of the time. Of the 168 hours in a week I would say the games actually play about 18 of those 168 hours at best. the other 150 hours the games all pretty much play the same. This includes few paylines, a lot of spins to get a bonus, and ultimately the bonus being good for $5.00 - $10.00. This after spinning off $100.00-$200.00. Shortly after the bonus what will happen is suddenly the game will altogether stop playing and you'll go 20+ spins without a payline. They have programmed these games as such to take the remainder of the money you put in the game. I found these traits to be prevelant amongst the majority of machines. They do keep a few random ones out of the 3000+ on site playing even when the others arent. This way theyre paying out jackpots ( anything over $1200.00 ). They claim that they payout a jackpot every minute which doesnt at all surprise me seeing as how they are f....everyone that comes through those doors every second of every minute of every hour of every day. They quite literally are stealing money from everyone that is unfortunate enough to play there. A big part of the problem I came to find out is that not only do the Seminole Indian Reservation have quite a large interest/ownership of the casino but they also own the gaming commission that is supposed to regulate the casino. A total conflict of interest to say the very least. Needless to say, as a result they pretty much do whatever they like as is outlined in my data. As for theyre sincere concerns in regards to people who have gambling problems, I know an employee personally who has told me that when people self exclude themselves the casino does nothing whatsoever about them being on the property playing after the fact. The only time the casino will enforce the self exclusion is if that particular individual jackpots a machine they will not pay them out. Not surprising seeing as how gambling addicts comprise roughly 85% of theyre revenue. Do the math, you have approximately a 90% chance of losing your money playing there. Dont be that person that leaves there feeling as if they have just been violated as most do. They are nothing more than thieves. the equivelent of any criminal thats commited crimes. Nothing more!…
