Everyone experience is different and has to do more then anything with the expectations people have in general and some reviews not always reflect the real truth and our recent stay proved we had nothing to worry about. The staff was awesome. Brittany at the front desk was very upbeat and helpful. Aimee and Jimmie in Aqua (the restaurant) were incredible. Attentive, fast, and very accommodating. We ordered room service, and it got to our room in 15 minutes hot and fresh. Downstairs, dinner by the bay with the fire pit in a very social distancing setting was a perfect end to the days. The food was excellent. We particularly liked, and appreciated the heathy choices like superfood salad. Every meal was tasty. The menu had a nice a selection of fresh seafood items. There’s a Starbucks at this hotel, which compared to the rest of the hotel looks new. (More on that later). The staff will remember you and your order on your first return visit. I got the NITRO a new drink that is delish. We saw plenty of Covid 19 precautions. Masks and social distancing are required, and there was excellent compliance amongst staff and guests. Hand sanitizer stations everywhere you looked. One on each floor by the elevator. The pool was closed out of safety precaution. Our Suite was awesome 3 rooms kitchenette, living room and dining room table and a bedroom with a super comfy king size bed, incredible views from sunrise to sunset with a mini fridge, microwave, little sink and coffee maker. Also is a little park across the street if u bring ur fur-babies Location is excellent midway between Clearwater Beach (about 20-30 minute drive) and Tampa (10 minute ride over the bridge) 35 Minutes from Ana Island just a perfect location in the middle of everything you desire. Is important to understand that we are in the middle of the pandemic so the hospitality industry change operations to follow the CDC recommendations to protect guest and stuff so some services are not not provide like housekeeper daily service but if u need a change of towels or sheets u can call the front desk and they will send it to u room. The potential of this property is just infinite. .Definitely worth a return visit, Can't wait! :)…
I stayed here for two nights from 25-27JAN2021 and it was just ok. The price felt a little high for how old and worn-down the room was. I did appreciate the free parking and coffee + breakfast item at Starbucks in lieu of a real breakfast. But as a Bonvoy Ambassador Elite, all the other Elites out there should know there's nothing special about this hotel. Views were lackluster and the neighboring construction might mean it's better to stay somewhere else until this property gets a refresh. The staff were all pleasant and professional. The gym was on-par with cardio and weight training available. The internet was fine. The TV was hilariously small and the remote control was not very responsive. Even though I booked the room for two people, there was only one robe in the bathroom. I also had to go to three different floors to find a working ice machine. Oh, and there was no refrigerator in the room, which was odd because you could tell where one used to be. They only stocked the room coffee station with decaf coffee. That's so annoying to discover in the morning. I could also hear the person in the neighboring room quite clearly. I'm sure there are better options for Marriott loyalists in Tampa.…
The Westin Tampa Bay is a first-class, beautiful hotel on the water at Rocky Point, about a mile west of the Tampa Airport. The public areas, rooms, furnishings, staff, and parking are all great. The hotel has it's own beach facing southeast for wonderful late-morning or mid-day tanning. It is right off the Gulf to Bay bridge so access to Clearwater is easy. The Westshore area of Tampa is minutes away for shopping and dining and the Bahama Breeze restaurant is within walking distance.
I don't even know where to begin. I was a little hesitant to book this Westin property because of the reviews, however I have enjoyed other stays at Westin's before so I thought I would give it a shot. The instant we walked into the doors, I regretted the decision. The front desk person had her headphones in so I felt like i was interrupting her personal time, the other front desk person had their feet up reading a book - not exactly hospitality at it's finest and the service continued to get worse. She was cold, rude, and didn't have our reservation details. Instead of asking clarifying questions, she assumed we had booked the other property in Tampa (which was incorrect) . Once my girlfriend provided additional details she found the reservation. We got into the room, relaxed for bit, ordered some doordash and on the way back into the room, my girlfriend walked me over to the bed and showed me the pillow where my head had been...there was BLOOD on the pillow case. After a moment of panic and disgust, we went downstairs to ask for a new room. We were provided a new room and went back upstairs to inspect the sheets...once again there was BLOOD on the comforter and stains near the pillows. We didn't even put down our bags and walked back downstairs and showed the front desk person our photos. He provided us another room, but no upgrade or an offer to alleviate the frustration and disgust we were feeling. We opened the door to the third room and the smell of marijuana came blasting out and was very pungent, but by this point we were tired and decided to inspect the sheets again. This was bed was absolutely foul, there were disgusting stains all over the comforter and sheets, that looked like bodily fluid. We walked downstairs and demanded a refund, drove over to the Grand Hyatt and had a wonderful stay there. I would never stay at another Westin property and hope you stay far far away from this specific location.…
