I am not one to write many reviews, but I was really blown away by the staff at this hotel. We just stayed for a quick night on our drive to Orlando on Christmas night, but they made a big impression. Overall the hotel was clean and room was nice. However, the guy at check-in was just very friendly. I asked for dinner recommendations on Christmas Day and he had several places on hand to give. Also, we needed some extra sheets and he had them ready for us when we got back from dinner. He was just above and beyond what was expected for a normal day, and this was a guy working Christmas Day. The next morning the lady up front was also over the top friendly and just made you feel special, and she had no idea I was a gold member. The breakfast attendant was great too. To the manager hopefully reading this, you have some outstanding staff and they definitely deserve a Christmas bonus. (P.S. just if your wondering, no they did not ask me to write a review)…
Stayed overnight with my husband and teen. Good beds, quiet and cold A/C. Fairly friendly staff. We ordered Dominos pizza for delivery and they were super fast! Next door to a Village Inn, which was a great breakfast! We would stay again.
Our stay at the Holiday Inn Express on Raymond Diehl Road in Tallahassee reminded us of why we've abandoned the Holiday Inn Express brand after several years of it being our go-to place to stay during our frequent travels. I am busy right now and it's just not worth me spending a bunch of time providing details, but here are a few of my notes from our stay so you'll know why I do NOT recommend that you stay there: - Dirty toilet, bathroom, and room -- the dirtiness was obvious, which made it obvious that whoever was supposed to clean the room failed to do their J O B - Toilet would not flush -- the front desk person moved us to another room, but that room was every bit as filthy as the first - Very dark rooms -- not only were there not many light fixtures, but a couple of them didn't even have bulbs - Telephone broken -- the cord was broken and detached, so even just a casual observer would have noticed -- again, people are not paying attention or doing their jobs at this hotel (hello, management!) - Industrial noise from HVAC -- the air conditioner was VERY loud; again this should have been noticed by housekeeping and fixed - Broken office chair (would not stay elevated, sat leaning sideways, uncomfortable) --that the chair was inoperative was obvious just by looking at it - Halls had lumpy and loose carpet -- the place is falling apart and taking on a third world appearance This hotel is worse than the worst ones I've stayed at while traveling in some of the most rundown places of Asia, Africa, and the Far East. Do not stop at this hotel. You're better off sleeping in your car.…
After trying to check in at the Hilton next door only to find my reservation totally wrong.....and no other options....and in a pouring thunderstorm...Holiday inn came to my rescue and found us a Ground floor room at the end of the hallway next to the exit. Yea for HIE Great friendly staff!
I wasn't impressed with the room. Looked kinda dirty. Thank goodness it was a one night stay. The Breakfast area were quick fruit, muffins, juice and coffee. The pool was outside standard size. Check in was slow 2 people ahead of me took a bit.
