Yes, I know the keys are hot, but the lack of any air movement here just made it unbearable. The beach is small and cute, but the amount of jellyfish at this location made swimming nearly impossible. My daughter was stung on her first swim. We reserved a tent space for the weekend. Spaces are not assigned, but are first... More

About a month before Labor Day weekend we called and they had available sites, so we booked. It was empty when we arrived as they had numerous cancellations because of Hermine, but that was okay by us. We had site 405 right, I am talking, right on the beach! Loved this site, because you walk right out and you are... More

We had a great visit for the week we stayed. The bar had a local island atmosphere. The location is convenient. We kayaked and laid on the beach. There are many campsites with water view. It is a clean campground and we would definitely stay again.

We took our daughter and 3 friends for her Sweet 16. The teens stayed in the RV and my husband, our greyhound and I stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin. The cabin was clean with a full kitchen, dining and sitting area (small couch) and ample bathroom. It included a deck complete with a grill and outdoor table. The RV... More

Place was pretty clean. We did not stay on any of their sites just camping. Felt very safe, staff was constantly driving by picking up, bathrooms were pretty clean considering the amount of people I saw during that weekend. Pool area was nice too. Overall I would recommend and stay here again. NOT crazy about the beach area but that's... More

We camped here for 6 nights and loved it! I would definitely recommend the beachfront sites. The interior sites didn't offer shade. The beachfront sites were packed sand, good size and footsteps from the water, and partially shaded. There are two inflatables in the water. Beach volleyball. Lots of large iguanas roam right up to your camper which is really... More

Pam at the entrance was wonderful. She did a nice job of finding our reservation and getting someone to take us to location, and he was very nice. The place is clean overall. The swim area is nice but wear water shoes due to the coral. The issue was the bartender, and believe his name was Steve. We paid $20... More

We had what was supposed to be a "Deluxe cabin" according to their website but it turned out to be nothing more than an RV! The bathroom was as tiny as it could be and the futon had a big saggy hole in the middle. To top it off, it was only $50 less than staying in several different hotels... More

At first we though this place was bit over priced but turns out it is worth it. This is about 27 minutes from Key West, Fl. We stayed in the single queen bed that allowed no pets. The place was very clean and the surrounding campsite had plenty to do. Keep in mind these are very tiny so moving around... More

Had the most amazing time visiting your campsite, the weather was beautiful, the iguanas were amazing, but the staff was remarkable , I have been in the hospitality industry for 16 years and know what great service is! They stayed their distance, and were there promptly there if need be. My boyfriend and I had an amazing time! Some of... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Open all year. Set between the crystal clear Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean, Sugarloaf Key/Key West KOA is a true beachfront resort. You'll find amenities and activities designed to please everyone in the family, local fishing and beachside fun at the campground's own water haven. Dine under swaying palm trees and sip frozen margaritas on the waterfront veranda of the campground's pub. Even your family pet will have fun at the pet playground specifically designed for them. Ever-appealing Key West lies just 14 miles south. Hop on the campground's shuttle to this funky and historic end of the road, dubbed "the Conch Republic." Walk the narrow streets showcasing Conch architecture-breezy wood houses with lush tropical gardens-once home to pirates, treasure hunters, sailors, novelists like Hemingway and songwriters like Buffett. End the day with a sunset at Mallory Pier. ... more   less
