We arrived to find out we could not have the site we were told we had. They put us right by the dog walk area at the entrance of the park. We do not have a dog, and I would suggest not staying in the site if you do not have a pet. People were very good about cleaning up...

This was our second time here, and we had a great stay, not too busy. We stayed in the tent area which is first come first serve so we foud a nice spot to set up camp. Everything was exactly what we expected, although I wish the store would stay open a bit later for ice and firewood. There were...

So I'm not entirely certain what all the negativity is about? Yes, the RV spots are small...its the Keys, space is prime real estate! That being said, we camped in our Class C RV during spring break week and the resort was not full, and left us plenty of space in the park. The staff was very nice and extremely...

A lot of people are probably looking to stay in a hotel on Key West when they travel to the low keys, but we found the KOA for tent camping! It is a nice, intimate location with lots of visitors to meet.

We don't RV, so this is just about our visit using their "Kabins". Due to the water table, they don't have the typical KOA Kabins to stay in, rather they are a trailer with a couple pop outs. The park itself was crowded with RVs and camp trailers, but what should be expected?!? The pool was large, clean and fun...

Sugarloaf Key is very expensive for a below average RV Park. When I'm paying over $100 a night Ifor a place to park my RV, I expect something more than a crowded gravel parking lot totally void of trees. The gravel wasn't even deep. When it rained, the water collected in dusty, dirty puddles. Our neighbor's sewer line was 2...

We arrived at Sugarloaf Key excited to be there on a beautiful Saturday night. As usual the golf cart with the yellow shirt guys were waiting to escort us to our site. He was very helpful and friendly in helping us back into out slot. It was very crowded since it was spring break. What we were not prepared for...

Very friendly people and staff. The roads are a little rough when you camp, but all sites have a fire pit and picnics and a great view of the stars at nite! It is in between sugar loaf and key west and away from the parts so you can get a good nights sleep! Has a boat ramp, fishing shack...

This was our second time staying at this KOA. We stayed here in February 2015 and it was a great experience. This time it was so so, we stayed in the tent area which was not very mapped out and people were just packed in. The pool didn't have umbrellas around the tables and chairs, the store was not very...

If you spend the winter months in the lower keys, you cannot complain about anything. Good thing we stayed here in our RV since everything was perfect. The other campers are so friendly you feel like they've been your friends forever. The staff is so nice you are immediately put at ease. Some even carry dog biscuits to share with...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Open all year. Set between the crystal clear Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean, Sugarloaf Key/Key West KOA is a true beachfront resort. You'll find amenities and activities designed to please everyone in the family, local fishing and beachside fun at the campground's own water haven. Dine under swaying palm trees and sip frozen margaritas on the waterfront veranda of the campground's pub. Even your family pet will have fun at the pet playground specifically designed for them. Ever-appealing Key West lies just 14 miles south. Hop on the campground's shuttle to this funky and historic end of the road, dubbed "the Conch Republic." Walk the narrow streets showcasing Conch architecture-breezy wood houses with lush tropical gardens-once home to pirates, treasure hunters, sailors, novelists like Hemingway and songwriters like Buffett. End the day with a sunset at Mallory Pier. ... more   less
