we stayed 3 times in December 2022 Each time, we got a better room than the last The hotel has definitely seen better days but at that price, what are you expecting? I saw staff cleaning constantly, even though the age and deterioration of the hotel would seem otherwise. You can clean the fire stairs forever and not see much of an improvement! But the staff worked diligently the entire 8 days total we stayed over December. The rooms were showing their age but the beds were comfortable and did not smell of anything offensive. The pillows seemed new-ish. The lower floors have long-term residents (also some on higher floors though) - be aware. Don't be surprised by this. Location is excellent. Parking in the garage is accessible and easy and safe and worth the $8. There were NO bugs of any kind at least! We were happy enough to come back 2 more times, even though the first room was old and residents were noisy outside our door at night (it was Friday-Saturday though). The staff were universally friendly and accommodating. We asked for a fridge in our room and always got a room with one - probably the reason our first stay was not in the nicest room - it was the only room left with a fridge those days. I cannot fathom why other people complain about the staff. Every single one was nice to us, even though we were from Australia and knew little Spanish. Everyone spoke good English anyway, but we like to try to speak the most used-language of the region. Again, location is excellent. Walking distance to 2 supermarkets and Metro. Close to Miami University. Close to South Miami shopping precinct. We mostly walked. Felt totally safe during the day as 2 women walking. Probably recommend car at night though. The pool was immaculately clean and nice, although the poolside lounges were old. We swam a few times. You have to ask for housekeeping if you want it more often than about every 2-3 days. We were frugal with towel use and you can always ask at Front Desk if you need more towels and amenities - which we did. Fresh filtered coffee all day long - refilled on request if empty. Microwave in lobby bar area (pre COVID breakfast area). Kindergarten opposite front of hotel is noisy for lower floors at 0900, but that's time to wake up anyway! Less noticeable when not holidays. If you want more, pay MUCH more and stay elsewhere! Get realistic and stop complaining about small things you can live with at the price you're paying. Maybe Australians are just more easy-going?!? Be like us and enjoy your life and get out of your hotel room for most of your stay!

First let's start with something positive, location of the hotel was convenient to walk to the university and metro station. And I was allowed to leave my luggage until check-in. I can't think of anything positive than this. Facilities, service is not worth for the price paid! Walls are so thin that I could literally the noise coming from the next room. I could smell weed, and around 5 people were sharing the neighboring room with an awful noise, which caused me to change my room to another one. Cockroaches were crawling too. I do not want to remember Miami by this hotel.

This is the worst hotel I have ever seen! I had booked through reservations.com and when we arrived within five minutes of being in our room and seeing the deplorable condition of it from the furniture to the bugs to the smell and no working telephone we went back down to the desk explained our situation to the clerk and that we could not stay there and he said he understood and he would document everything and that I should call on Monday and speak to the manager and request my refund… I could not get through to the manager on Monday but the clerk gave me an email address and I also filed a complaint with reservations.com… They said they contacted the Rodeway Inn and the manager denied my request for a refund… Then back-and-forth with several other emails the latest was Rodeway Inn is now saying I did stay there which is a lie! Apparently the manager that was there last week is gone and now according to the front desk the new manager is even worse than the last one… I felt completely unsafe there not only due to the deplorable condition of the hotel itself and the rooms but the drug dealers in the lobby was the last straw… I really hope this ends well and they grant my refund as I was down there for a funeral that my brother had passed away… How sad they are treating us like this… Again I would never recommend this hotel ever!

I booked a handicap accessible room. Once i got there they told me they sold that rooms weeks ago and because theyre elder they have priority over me. They didnt update the fact the rooms were sold and tried to blame choice I called and had choice on the phone. Once choice was on the phone rodeway admitted to their wrongs. On my last day my caretaker complained of a smell. Because water leaked from the vent onto the mat. The manager came in very nasty saying the hotel had a problem with me. I said what problem? She said i dont know the cops were called. Its a free country if i feel unsafe im allowed to call the cops. When i asked her what that had to do with anything she said i dont know what do you want. I told her what my caretaker said. She said the smell wasnt mildew it was me. So i turned to say something the manager cut me off the PAYER and said im not talking to you im talking to your caretaker. And i said im the one that paid for this room and caretaker how dare you dismiss me. At that point me and my caretaker packed up and left. I would never step foot in there again. And they never took any blankets that were messed up because my caretaker cleaned them herself and they said even though they were cleaned its "cross contamination" so im to be charged another $75. I would never stay here again. No breakfast. They dont know which rooms have refrigerators or dont . No microwaves in rooms. They sell rooms that arent available through choice because they dont update as they sell. Staff is the worse youll ever come across. You cant ask for anything theyll get nasty with you. Theyll also swipe your card and not give you a receipt saying their printer is broken and not email one either. Dont let them add anything to your billing nor swipe your card ! They will make false claims you by law need to see what they are charging you for. So i would avoid this hotel all together.

The first bad sign was the parking charge, which I do not think seeing on their webpage. I walked in my room, and my concern was further verified. I am sure house keepers clean although not really sure what they do. The outlet does funny thing. Sometimes it is working, sometimes not. The light above the entrance door is dim, and gets brighter. The door hinge hits the door, and makes a loud noise. Guests next to me is way too loud, which is not the hotel's fault, but that tells you how thin the wall is. My last straw was dripping from the air vent. It started when somebody above me started to take a shower. The front desk lady practically refused to give me another room, and said would send somebody in 5~10 min. Well, after 38 min., nobody has shown up. Seems cheap, compared with others, but not that cheap to begin with. You should spend your money somewhere else.

Horrible experience at the Rodeway Inn — South Miami. When we checked in, we had to pay for our three nights upfront. Unbeknownst to us, we were also charged a 25% deposit, which was not applied to our payment for our stay, but rather an additional charge. When we asked the front desk about it (only having discovered it by looking at a credit card statement), we were told it would be refunded 2-7 business days after we checked out, making the total cost significantly more than expected for a total dump. Aside from the “deposit,” the cost of a room is astronomical for what you get: filthy/stained furniture, musty smell, no cable TV, shoddy WiFi, broken elevator, no available towels (bath OR pool), broken shower head, broken toilet, broken windows that haven’t been washed likely since the hotel was built, no available ice buckets despite asking for one two nights in a row, no clock in the room, and the kicker — a chirping smoke detector whose batteries were dying and not replaced for the entirety of our three-night stay (the front desk was informed of this). The cleaning staff was very kind, but that is the only positive. Oh, and don’t bring any valuables — there’s a safe in the room, but you have to pay for it.

Dirty worst place that you would stay in Miami. The price is not worth it. The room is extremely dirty and all the furniture old. The whole place is dirty and needs better maintenance and cleaning staff. Plus they advertise free parking when you check in they charge you $8. All door locks are broken it doesn't make you feel safe at night.

Let’s start with how dirty and destroy is the “Hotel” the amount of mold , the cracks on walls and ceiling... I payed in advance 3 rooms king beds 1- we got 3 rooms 2 beds per room 2-first room the tub didn’t stop running ever 3- second room door didn’t open so we got another room than the room was dirty beds undone trash in the bathroom 3b- then we ask for another room cause my friend had an asthma attack cause of the mold on the walls and ceiling 4- 3er room the door opens but it happens that it was some else’s room. ( we got there at 11 pm. ) you can imagine the problem when some opens your door on the middle of the night ———— Next morning I go asked the girl down stairs to get us the king size bed and clean rooms. She just plain told me no we can’t! So I told her I need to cancel my reservation. And get about $750 dollars back in my card. Just wanted to pay for the first night and leave.. Well they manage to still my money ( smal fake print ) and cancel my reservation. Basically kicking us out!! I was mad. But honestly $750 is less the all of us getting sick for spending 3 nights there. ( this is during virus time ). We end getting another hotel $1200 more thanks to this dirty scammers with amazing photography skills.. The new hotel was amazing all white clean and awesome. Only $35 more than that dump I won’t recommend this place to an enemy!! If you want pics and video of this dump. Please ask me .. we have so many. And I will post this in every website I can to safe people from this Halloween hotel .. **** doesn’t look like the pic. **** I have video and pics real!! This are the pics of how we find the room And I also got charges to my card other that the ones already pay. Even after canceling my reservation

I should’ve know what was coming to me, after I had to wait for almost 5 hours to get my room. When I finally got it, TV didn’t work and room was not clean as expected, so they change me to another room. Things just got worse by the minute. Zero maintenance has been given to this hotel in years, it’s dirty and old! In my room, the ceiling is peeling off, curtains are falling and dirty, window is broken and does not close, there was hair on the bed which was supposedly recently cleaned, toilet dirty, furniture all swollen by humidity, not once did housekeeping do ANY housekeeping, phone dirty and stained with nail polish, towels dirty and stained with what appeared to be blood, I reported the security vault 3 times and not once did they come to check it (bit, of course, they charge for it even if you don’t use it, or as this was the case, it doesn’t work!!!). Customer service??? LOL! They don’t even know the meaning of the concept in this “Nightmare con Elm Street” hotel!
