Nestled in Sarasota, the Tropical Beach Resorts is often celebrated for its spotless accommodations and hospitable staff who are commended for their prompt and accommodating service. While some guests have noted the rooms to be cozy yet somewhat compact and occasionally in need of modernization, the cleanliness rarely goes unnoticed. Its stellar location, a stone's throw from the beach and local attractions, is frequently applauded.
The ambiance exudes a quaint, tropical charm, despite remarks about dated touches. However, visitors have called out the extra charges for beach amenities, which can dampen the otherwise good value.

I recently stayed at Tropical Beach Resorts in Sarasota, and overall, it was a wonderful experience! The location is unbeatable – just steps away from the beautiful Crescent Beach, which was stunning. The sand was soft, and the water was warm and inviting. We spent a lot of time enjoying the beach, and the resort's proximity made it super convenient.
The resort itself is charming, with a laid-back, tropical vibe. Our room was clean, spacious, and had a cozy, homey feel. I loved having a kitchenette, which made it easy to prepare quick meals and snacks. The pool area was also a highlight – peaceful and relaxing, with plenty of lounge chairs to soak up the sun.
The staff were friendly and helpful, making the check-in process smooth and giving great recommendations for local restaurants and activities.
If I had to give a small critique, it would be that the resort could use a little updating in certain areas. The furniture and some of the amenities felt a bit dated, but nothing that detracted too much from the overall experience.
All in all, Tropical Beach Resorts offers a great, no-fuss beach getaway in Sarasota. I’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing and peaceful retreat by the ocean!

Could not have picked a better place to stay on our first family vacation with our one year old! Entire staff was so friendly and accommodating! The stocked kitchenettes in the rooms were very convenient- just picked up some groceries and were able to save money on breakfast and lunches. Location was perfect- within walking distance to some great restaurants/bars/ice cream/breakfast and coffee/shops and the Crescent Market that carries just about anything you could need. Two free transportation services run all day long to take you the short drive to Siesta Village or Turtle Beach. The trolley pick up is almost directly across the street from the resort and the Frog Hopper (runs on tips) will pick you up right at the resort within 20 minutes of calling. Beach is a short pretty pathway away and has beautiful white soft sand and plenty of shells to search through, with umbrella and chair rentals available. The two heated pools were very clean! Overall a wonderful stay- looking forward to visiting for years to come!

I loved how close our room was to the beach walkway. The room was perfect because I had a day bed to sleep on while my mother slept on the queen bed. It had a kitchenette & dishwasher so we could cook and eat in our room. The office staff was very friendly & helpful.

We booked The two Sundeck Studios with another couple so that we would have privacy to relax outdoors in the evening. The sundeck is large and is furnished with two umbrella tables, 4 chairs with each table, and 4 plastic strip chaise lounges. The seating was fine, nothing luxurious, but ok. The umbrellas were quite worn and difficult to adjust. Staff closed the umbrellas late each evening. The Sundeck Studio rooms were ok, 3 out of 5 stars. The decor is VERY dated, the bed squeaked, we discovered that the tv remote needed new batteries late our first night, after the office was closed. The doors to the rooms open out, and you must take a step down to enter the room. Not a big deal, just very odd and distracting. Felt like cobbled construction and definitely detracted from the resort atmosphere they are apparently trying to achieve. Also minor, but since I am not a tall person I couldn't see to use the security peephole since from the inside, the door is above floor level. There is a large warning strip in the doorway reminding you to step down/up, because safety first! There is no elevator to the second floor, so be aware of this if you have mobility issues. Kind of a climb with baggage. Housekeeping is MWF only, but fresh towels and toiletries are available upon request. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available at a cost of $30 per day. Absolute highway robbery. We did not take advantage of this "perk" as we we felt that the $100 "resort fee" we paid should have more than covered the use of their chairs. The beach is beautiful, but the small area for hotel guests was very crowded. Unlike their sister resort, Inn at the Beach 30 miles to the south in Venice, Tropical Beach Resorts does not provide a continental breakfast. Disappointing, but our mistake in not clarifying that. We've stayed at Inn at the Beach many, many times and just assumed it would be the same. Fortunately, there is a cute breakfast place within easy walking distance. The do offer complimentary coffee, water, hydrox cookies, and kiddie candy if you're starving. They also have a large collection of dvds for your use. Siesta Key is fun, the trolley to the village was handy, and the staff at the hotel were mostly friendly. We just wouldn't choose this hotel again.

We sincerely appreciate you for sharing your feedback following your recent stay. Your insights are invaluable in helping us enhance our hotel experience. Your comments on the peep hole will be passed on to our maintenance team to inspect and correct. The beach area extends from the boardwalk to the point of rocks. The flagged area is for those that choose to utilize the rental service. Our resort fee covers parking, beach towels, all day coffee service and treats, and the DVD collection at the office. I was expecting a lot because the reviews spoke highly but felt a little disappointed, especially for the price point. Check in was smooth and the front desk friendly. Our room was as pictured but a little tight for four of us. With the sofa bed out you could barely walk around.
We had a private patio area and I liked our location but was disappointed that the tiki bar was under construction so that whole area was taped off and unsightly and we couldn’t use any of it, including the grill. Our personal patio area had a recurring smell of fish so we didn’t spend a lot of time out there. Even after we asked the staff to take away the overflowing garbage which they did quickly, the smell was still there.
The room AC worked great and the bedding was comfortable. The kitchenette was perfect for cooking and had all but a simple spatula included. The red tide was bad so we spent most days by the pool. It was very crowded and we had a hard time finding shade by the pool.
I was most disappointed that we had to spend $80 on beach chairs and umbrellas to spend the day at the beach. Anytime I go to a hotel in FL I expect the chairs to be included and they have been. Apparently that’s no longer the case here. $72 plus tip (which they make a point to ask for) seems incredibly steep when you’re already paying $500/night. To be at the beach!! I couldn’t get past that and we only spent one day on the beach because of it.
The water and snacks in the office were a nice touch. Housekeeping came daily to restock our supplies. The staff was friendly but not overly helpful and didn’t offer any suggestions on the construction being done outside our room or on how to best deal with red tide.
Overall, I felt the place was mostly as pictured but next time I would probably stay somewhere else because for the price, it left me wanting more.

Dear Kelbel, Thank you for staying with us on your recent trip to Siesta Key. I'm sorry that your trip was not what you had expected and feel that it is due to the red tide conditions as well as the Tiki Hut deck construction. While we unfortunately can't do anything about the red tide, and the fish smell when it is taking place, the deck construction is something we could control. We tried to limit work being completed from 11a-4pm so as not to disturb our guests who are staying nearby. Most of that work is now complete, although too late for you and I'm sorry that it caused a disturbance, but am excited about the added amenity to the property that will help guests deal with unfortunate events like red tide. The Beach Service charges $32 for all day rental for 2 chairs and an umbrella, guests are welcome to bring their own items to the beach and can direct guests to the appropriate area. I have a meeting with the beach services Company tomorrow and will talk to them about "asking" for tips, while they are appreciated, they should not be solicited. I appreciate the comments regarding the staff and the room itself and do hope that you will consider staying with us should your travels bring you back to the Siesta Key area. Best Regards, Bill Jones General Manager

Close proximity to a beautiful white sand beach that is kept very clean. Grounds are lush and gorgeous, filled with tropical plants and trees that are well kept. Parking was never an issue. Air conditioned rooms that truly stay cool. Mattress was comfortable, even the sleeper sofa was comfortable. Water pressure was very good. Movies to choose from and rent for free kept in the office with a bag of microwave popcorn, DVD player in rooms. Pool was kept clean, felt like salt water, never strong overwhelming chemicals. The pool was low key, kid friendly as well as the beach. The town has various restaurants, shops, and bars within walking distance. Even a little grocery market nearby. We rented a golf cart on day 2. We were able to travel about 10 minutes to Siesta Key Village which has more restaurants and shops. If you do not choose to rent a golf cart, a trolly runs about every 20-30 minutes that will take you to the village. Staff including the front desk, house keeping, and GM were always kind, helpful, respectful, friendly, and prompt. The value is definitely more than reasonable. We can’t say enough great things about this resort! Highly recommend!!! We will be back!

Love the location of this resort, it is located just a short walk from the south bridge in Siesta Key, walkable to the restaurants and bars as well. The resort appears to be a cumulation of a few 1950 style motels on a semi private circular road with beautiful, well maintained landscaping. The beach (which is beautiful) and pool are less then 5 minute walk from room. The large room was an efficiency which had everything you need for an extended stay, fridge, microwave, dishwater, table seating for 4. Parking was located directly outside our door. Go and enjoy!!

Front desk staff and cleaning crew was very friendly and alerted me when my son left his prized stuffed pillow airplane in the room after we checked out. They went above and beyond. Thank you and a job well done!

I went here for the 2nd year in a row with my friend Barb. During our stay, we noticed that the bathrub was incredibly slippery (we are elderly), and there was almost no water pressure in the shower. Not to worry! ONE call to the office, and they were in our unit fixing in in LESS THAN 10 MINUTES!!! They put on a new shower head & everything was excellent again! A rubber bath mat delivered shortly thereafter took care of the slippery tub. The sunsets here are awesome, and the resort is surrounded by some of the best restaurants I've ever been to. Don't hesitate to drive to Walt's Seafood Market...have the king crab legs. I'll have pleasant dreams about those forever! Beach is well kept and beautiful white sand. My only compliant is that the place next door has a board walk almost to the water and I wish this place did...especially for we oldsters who have a tough time walking in sand. We were exhausted just going to the beach and back.

Cute Resort. Small Beach, leave your stuff at home and rent two chairs and an umbrella for about 40-45 dollars a day depending on tip. Short walk to the beach. Not a lot of restaurants within walking distance but you can jump on the Frog Hopper for free and it will talk you to The Village with a ton of options.
