Sarasota Surf and Racquet Club delivers the best of all worlds: The newly renovated, privately owned vacation condominiums have full amenities and include resort-like accommodations. Our customer service & satisfaction tops the charts and differentiates us from the many other choices you have when deciding on a vacation rental. Conveniently located close to fine dining and shopping and within minutes of area attractions, this is a perfect year-round island destination for travelers, active seniors, couples, families, or honeymooners.
Enjoyable stay, however expected more to make the cost more palatable, and importantly our stay easier and a little more comfortable.
Accommodation very spacious for four of us, comfy sofas, beds and pillows. Plenty of cupboard incl. walk in wardrobe and draw space. No issues with hot water and towels were refreshed weekly, however option to use washer/dryer for $4 via the office to pay.
The second bedroom is cold due to Air conditioning. Good TV network. Like how people leave books for next guests, nice touch. Had a gazebo and beach umbrella which was very helpful. Bathroom extractor fan was excellent.
Kitchen, the cooker extractor fan not fit for purpose when cooking and had to open main door and windows due to steam. Utensils are lacking, required much more choice of saucepans, cheese grater. Shower cubicle requires a larger basket/shelf for gels, shampoo, as currently tiny shelf for just 2 items, add a shelf or basket to make life easier.
Property, Wi-Fi non existent for our room around the pool area for this room, must be made available for all guests.
In summary, enjoyable stay, requires some basic improvements as outlined to make future guests stay easier. Understand paying premium for location of the wonderful beach/sea view, which is amazing!

My family and I had the pleasure of staying here from 7/18 - 7/25/2020. This location is great for getting back to the main land or going into the market. It's not within walking distance in my opinion. I liked the private beach area and the free lounge chairs they provide for you. The smaller pool was not very clear looking, but there were always tons of little kids and people in that one. The larger pool was much nicer. Our unit C303 could use a bit of an update. The beds were horrible - extremely hard and the sheets were terrible. I am not sure if that is Condo wide or specific for that unit. If it's condo wide I would suggest upgrading to a nice blend. If you are expecting people to pay 4 star hotel rates, they should get 4 star bedding at least. Also our unit could use one of those towel drying racks. It was difficult to find a place to hang 6 beach towels each day. I ended up just washing and drying them almost every day. All in all though the place was nice. You were required to wear masks in the office and walking around or in the elevators. Also there were only 2 people allowed in the office at a time. I brought my own sanitation wipes and spray to clean all touchable surfaces within our unit.

We stayed for 10 days in T1201. We actually stayed in that same room in 2010 and believe it or not the bedding in the master has NEVER changed. The manager and the property staff were wonderful but the overall stay was pretty awful. The pictures of the condo is NOT how this condo actually looks. Couches were broken, headboards were not attached to the beds, just standing against the walls. The furniture in the master was terrible. Loud music on the beach everyday, it is no longer required to only use headphones so the competing types of music was really awful. It’s like private beach prices for a public beach atmosphere. I was really disappointed after having stayed at this property for the past 30+ years. If you do go you may want to ask for updated images, had we seen beforehand the true condition of this condo we would have NEVER reserved it.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Sarasota Surf and Racquet Club. All of our units are individually owned and it is up to the owners to update their units. We will share your disappointment with the condition of unit T1201 to the owner and hope they will consider making improvements. The music at the beach is supposed to be at a minimal sound level. We appreciate that you have been enjoying our property for years and sorry that the inconsiderate behavior of other guest and the condition of the unit has changed that for you. Sincerely. Kerry Wanglund, Guest Services

This was our first time visiting siesta key and staying at surf and racquet. Checking in and out was easy and the outdoor property including pool was very clean and nice. My issue was with our room. We rented in the Y building room 106. The view was beautiful but the room was not clean and had issues. The shower in the second bathroom was nasty, the toilet leaked, several blinds were broken so we could not open them, and the air quality was so bad I struggled to breathe. There was black mold on all the vents! My husband check the air filters and they were horrible! After my husband put in clean filters and maintenance cleaned the black mold off 1 of the vents I could breathe easier but I would never stay at that unit again! I included pictures of the HVAC system, vent, and the filters before and after my husband changed them. Maintenance did come to our room but with the cost of that room we should not have checked in with a nasty shower, broken blinds, black mold, and very dirty filters.

We have been coming here for the past several years. We find Kerry and the office staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. Being right on the beach is awesome and having two pools is great. We really like having beach chairs that we can use. There is a fitness room with a couple of treadmills, exercise bikes and weights. The ability to have guests stay overnight and be able to park here is much appreciated.
However, this year we stayed in Unit T1106. This unit really was disappointing. It is very tired, paint chipped on the walls, tile in the bathroom stained by the stool, kitchen completely understocked, dishwasher doesn't clean dishes and is EXTREMELY loud! There is black mold in the shower. We couldn't get one of the windows in the second bedroom to close and had to call maintenance to fix it. The chandelier above the dining room table has tape wrapped around the wires by the ceiling. The kitchen cabinet doors don't stay closed. Some of the blinds didn't work. I could go on but you get the picture.
We were told that this unit has been sold. Hopefully the new owners will come in and do some major remodeling!!!!!

Beautifully maintained property, exceptionally clean and a location that can’t be beat . Siesta beach is an incredible natural marvel with white sand so fine feels like flour. Our unit was beautifully renovated with an amazing view from the 8th floor Tower building.

I have been coming here, to this resort for 40 years. Until 2020 I loved bringing my kids, but since then it has not been family friendly. I’ve tried many different times between Memorial Day and Labor Day and it’s been the same, large groups of 14-16 year olds drinking and taking over. They have parties in rooms, which I assume their parents have rented because I saw two moms corn out of one yesterday trying to clean up after a party the night before, and play loud club music everywhere they go. They literal walk around with it playing. If it was a smaller group I’d get over it, but it’s like 20 plus kids and more than one group. To make matters worse, management and security do nothing when they are made aware of it. If I wanted a club scene or to pretend I’m in a reality TV show, this would be the resort for me, but I want a family beach vacation, and this is not the place to come.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Sarasota Surf & Racquet Club. We do not rent to anyone under 25 years old so all of these teens were here with their parents. We agree that some of the teenagers and their parents did not act responsibly and were disrespectful to other guests. However it isn't far to say that management and security didn't try to stop this from happening. We hired an off duty officer to help our own security staff last week, went to the pools numerous times to take alcoholic beverages from minors, dispersed teenagers that weren't staying here and evicted guests for numerous noise complaints. We appreciate your patronage all of these years and we are sorry that the bad behavior of others has ruined this for you and your family. Sincerely, Kerry Wanglund, Guest Services

The Surf and Racquet Club has long been an ideal family vacation condo complex. Reason being it has some of the best beach side amenities like a seawall, swimming pool, grills, tons of chairs, lots of beach. It is located right in the middle so walking to the Village or South Bridge area is very convenient. They have many well cared for units with awesome gulf views. The grounds are top notch, zero blacktop, beautifully maintained garden, lots of covered parking, pretty night time landscape lighting. There are several tennis, pickle ball, and even a basket call court. It is gated, has 24 security, on premise office, and an excellent rental program. Go online and see for yourself. Every unit has pictures, so no surprises. It's number one for a reason... It has much more to offer than most other rentals on the beach. Total class act.

My sisters and I rented a 2 bedroom condo and we loved it! It was spacious, clean, and the staff were very accommodating. The condo was stocked with just the right amount of kitchen utensils, plates, cups, etc. The beds were comfortable and the view we had from Building Y was fabulous. My only complaint and it is a small one is that the parking was crowded so we had to park a ways from our building. But everyone was friendly, the beach is right there and the beach chairs are free to use on the beach for guests. I highly recommend this resort. I will definitely stay here again!
