Great location, right on the beach. Very pretty, nice rooms that were clean and comfortable. Great place for kids to stay. Pool was nice. Breakfast was simple and a good way to start the day. Will definitely be back:)

Just left the Island Inn having spent a 4day weekend here. Stayed on second floor of Matthew's Lodge. Had a fantastic view of the water. Room had a beachy cottage feel. Very comfortable and clean. Loved that the porch was totally screened in as we left the door open all the time fir fresh air, even at night for the...

The Island Inn on Sanibel Island is a step back in time with all of today's modern conveniences. It is easy to imagine an earlier time when there was plenty of room to spread out on prime beach real estate. Island Inn has lots of open space and a spectacular beach. The rooms are large and modern for mid century...

It sounds as though you had a good time. We'll take your comment pillow under consideration. We have to be conscious of people's allergies, so we will do our research to find out what type of pillows might be good replacements.

Never having been to Sanibel, we didn't know what to expect or where to stay. My research turned up What looked like decent 3-star places that reminded me of motels -- with balconies facing the beach. And the beach is certainly the highlight...calm water, plentiful shells, unspoiled beaches. A few things about the Island Inn stood out. 1) the "inn"...

Thank you for the thorough and excellent review. It means so much when our guests take the time to explain the Inn to others on Trip Advisor. This is a great overview of the property and our amenities. We're happy you experienced the beach walk, we offer that because we feel that adds so much to guests enjoyment of their...

Our first time on Sanibel Island. Loved it... quiet, laid back with great restaurants and beautiful beaches. Lots of nature preserves and shelling opportunities. The hotel is spotless with upscale room decor. Plenty of drawers and mirrors, nice furniture and high end hardware in bathroom. All with a beachy feel. We had a full kitchen which allowed us to shop...

Lovely older style beach resort with motel style building as well as separate cottages spread out in a large property. Our unit looked like it was recently renovated with a modern beach decor and had a small kitchen with full refrigerator and a screened in porch. The views and sunset were beautiful. The resort was quiet and there was plenty...

I had stayed on Sanibel in November and fell in love. Not so much with our previous hotel. The Island Inn was awesome! We stayed at Matthews Lodge and had a 2nd story room. Very friendly staff. Great room. Nice breakfast. If you have dinner you get 15% off but they charge you 18% gratuity. That was kind of odd....

So glad you enjoyed your stay! We have updated the 15% off coupon as most people stop reading after the "15% off". The coupon clearly states that an 18% gratuity will be added, but people don't seem to read that far...so we've highlighted that section to make sure people read the tip portion of the offer. While the restaurant and...

We stayed 1 night in new wing of the Inn's property. There were several cottages and buildings. Very friendly and helpful staff. I loved walking the beach and the shelling was very good. I used the pool twice, the beach chairs were plentiful. A flashlight was provided with the room as the property was dark at night. Continental breakfast was...

This isn't a posh huge resort which is what we wanted. It is on a quiet part of the beach. Loved the walks along the beach in the morning without having to get int he car or cross the highway. Everything is immaculat. Great place for a vacation away from the crowds you find in parts of Florida. Loved, Loved...
