Run like hell! Horrible experience. Coastline, the property management people, specifically Buddy Burgess. Thugs. Bent a garage door with a golf cart, due to thje fact that the door malfunctioned and didnt go all the way up. Deemed it negligent, rather than accidental, so that the damage fee we paid was not applicable and we had to buy a whole new garage door. When I asked for an explanation of how this was not an accident, they told me their attorney would call me back. Rather than doing that, their attorney called the person in our party that had booked the place and threatened a civil suit. Run like hell!

The good: Lauren Smith at the Westwinds Tiki Bar made our vacation experience awesome! She is a “one woman show” who manages to juggle food orders and drink orders without getting frazzled by lines forming, etc. She maintains an upbeat, positive, “can do” attitude and when everywhere is having staffing issues she just keeps plugging away and doesn’t complain and keeps providing stellar customer service! I really hope the San Destin Golf and Beach Club realize what a great employee they have and reward her appropriately! I hope when we return next year we find Lauren here again (hopefully with a bit of help to assist her!). The guys who set up and take down the beach chairs as well are a hard working team and deserve to be recognized for their customer service and drive! The “not so good”: we were in a 3 bedroom condo #4777 in the Westwinds tower. While the views are spectacular, the actual unit and its furnishings left much to be desired. The unit is in great need of updating , new furnishings and new mattresses. In my son’s room I had to stuff pillows behind the baseboard of his bed due to squeaking that would have kept the dead awake all night! In the master the mattress was so old that my husband and I had to fight to stay in bed cuz there was a bump in the middle causing us to both feel like we’d roll out on each end in the middle of the night! For the price we are paying per night, I don’t feel it’s unreasonable to expect quality mattresses that are not probably 20+ years old. The beach is gorgeous and so clear you can see all kinds of Maine life frolicking right under your toes! I do wish there were attendants at the pool and hot tub as there’s a sign at the hot tub that says “absolutely no kids under 12” and of course parents dump their toddlers and young kids in there with snacks that get in the water and toys like it’s a kiddie pool (which there is one just a few steps away!) so that was annoying since it should be a place adults can go to seek some refuge from littles. Other than these items, it was a great stay and we will be back but hopefully in a more updated unit!

Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort has the most amazing team at Beach Services! Lynn Woods who manages the beach chair and umbrellas is always personable, professional and the absolute hardest worker! We are blessed to have a second home in the area and this team one of the reasons we love calling Sandestin our home away from home ❤️☀️🏖‼️Thank you Lynn and Brock!!

When we made our reservation we were quarnteed a high floor on the beachfront tower. When we checked in we were given a room on the 3rd floor and told "That's all we have". Since we had paid and the room was non refundable, we had no choice but to accept the room. While the room was ok, it was not what was described to us when we made the reservation. While the room was disappointing, our experience with The Links Golf Staff was a larger disappointment. We paid for 2 rounds of golf with rental clubs on 10/7/21. When we teed off the course the course was flooded and unplayable. We asked for a refund and was told " No, we will give you a raincheck". I told them we were flying out on Saturday and was told "Sorry, here's your raincheck".I then asked in instead of a raincheck if I could get credit for merchandise in the pro shop. Again "Sorry, here's your raincheck". I know have a $331 dollar raincheck I will never use. To say we are extremely dissatisfied is an understatement.

The resort is beautiful and we had only one complaint concerning the resort. We spent $700for the week renting the beach chairs and the resort allowed people to put up tents and chairs in front of all the Sandestin chairs. It was miserable because we could not enjoy the beach for the swarm in front of us. The resort puts their chairs so far back it allows this even though signs are up saying no tents in front of the chairs. I would not waste my money on the chairs provided. Be rude and camp in front of everyone. Beach etiquette is out the door here.
