My absolute favorite hotel in the entire Tampa Bay area. There is nothing not to like here and everything to love. And the ambiance is nothing short of fabulous. I direct all friends, family and business associates to The Vinoy and everyone is always beyond pleased. This is a must stay when in the area. You will never be disappointed. Thank you Vinoy for always providing an exceptional overall experience.
My wife and I arrived on May 2, 2022, and departed on May 5, 2022. She attended a three day conference at the Vinoy. During the early morning of May 3rd, my wife was in the bathroom preparing for the first day of her conference when suddenly she started shouting at me to come quickly into the bathroom. Upon my arrival, she indicated that she had seen a large cockroach go under the sink area. This sink was open underneath. I subsequently found a large cockroach under the sink. I immediately killed the pest after photographing it. That same morning, I went to the concierge desk and asked to speak to a management official. The man I spoke to identified himself as such. I showed him the pictures of the cockroach. He disdainfully snubbed my concerns and told me it was "only a Palmetto bug." He tried to minimize the situation by calling the cockroach a Palmetto bug. He said he would notate my findings and see that the room was sprayed. He acted as if it wasn't an uncommon event. He was very inconsiderate, displayed a pompous attitude toward me, and should be educated in customer service etiquette. Otherwise, our service from staff was great. We checked out two days later, and to my knowledge, no action had been taken to eliminate any other cockroaches that may have been in our room. I do not expect to find cockroaches in a room costing several hundred dollars a night. And then to have my concerns about it downplayed by a staff member was very disconcerting. As for the room, I was not impressed. I expected something much nicer for the inflated price. Even the soda machine on our floor was out of order for our entire stay. But in spite of that, we had a bottle of water in our room that was available for $5. It was hard to turn down that bargain, but I would have drank out of the sink first. I purchased water and soda at a local merchant. Then, we had to deal with continuous noise from ongoing construction that started early in the mornings and continued throughout each day. The noise of concrete trucks was especially annoying in the early morning. I have stayed in much nicer hotels, for far less money, and without cockroaches. This place is nothing special. The value is terrible because so many other better choices are available. Save your money and stay elsewhere.…
The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The safe was broken and unfortunately the phone system was not working properly. We were told there was room service but getting through to the front desk was either a very long hold or it would say your were on hold but then pushed you through to leave a message. On a positive note, the only restaurant open on property was Paul’s landing. The food and ambiance was great. The burger and fish tacos were excellent. Wanda and Mathew were fantastic. They made our anniversary extra special!
The hotel is absolutely stunning. It is undergoing a large scale renovation at the moment and there is some construction noise during the day but it is not intrusive at all. The front desk staff are friendly and professional. The ladies who work in the Veranda Cafe are hard working, friendly, and remember your name. The staff at Paul's Landing are fantastic and so is the food. Housekeeping are friendly and efficient. I love staying at the Vinoy whenever I am in St. Pete (so far 4 times in the last 9 months) and would not consider staying elsewhere. I can't wait to see it when the renovations are completed.
Unfortunately there is some construction going on but it did not deter from our experience. The room was spacious and comfortable. Check in was easy and the location is fantastic. A short walk from great shopping and dining. I can't wait to return. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in St. Pete.
Stayed here for a conference. One of the lights in my suite was burned out but the hotel room was otherwise clean and comfortable. I do realize it’s an old building but soundproofing can be improved - was awoken by a (clock) alarm from another suite at night that went on for at least 5 minutes. The pool is really nice though!
Stayed here many times before and it was always so perfect. This time was beyond terrible. They don't care about the guests cuz they are too busy with the events. The Marchand is closed, the hotel renovations are in progress. Stay way. Not worth the money. So sad, used to be a favorite . Been a Marriott member since 1978 and this is not how it should be. Filed major complaint to them.
This hotel gave us the WOW factor! We were super appreciative to get an early check in. The hotel was gorgeous and rooms felt very lux and the pool area was relaxing. This was the perfect place for a getaway with my boyfriend. If I come back to the area, I will definitely be staying here again! We had breakfast at Pauls landing- our waitress was very personable and food came quick.
Although we have stayed at the Vinoy numerous times, this visit was quite special. Our front desk person, Susan was the absolutely fantastic and the most professional front desk person we have ever met. It was our 38 th anniversary and the Vinoy did everything to make it memorable. Beautiful room, fabulous service and that special treat, ent that only the Vinoy can give…..
Having lived in the area until 5 years ago, I am aware of the Vinoy dating back to the time when it was shuttered and closed. It has a beautiful location. Th rooms in the bay tower are large, clean and modern. The balcony view is extraordinary. I do miss Marchands Grill. I will stay again when in St. Pete.
