As a lifetime Titanium Elite member and corporate meeting planner, I’ve stayed at my fair share of Marriotts around the globe. I hosted a small meeting here in June 2021 and opted to extend my stay for a few pool days. The front desk staff is not up to par. At check in, my room was not ready. Understandable. I was not greeted warm and friendly, never mind a quick review of the property or a bottle of water. No comment on my status or points in lieu of no M Club Lounge. The man was rude and abrasive. Thank God for the very kind bell man and team who kindly offered to explain the property to me as I was shooed off with luggage in hand by the front desk with no ETA of my room being ready. I ended up making my way to the pool. Staff was great! Servers at the pool, especially Jason were fabulous. Food and drinks plentiful. I finally got a call after guaranteed check in time (ugh). The same gentleman (in-training) at the front desk provided keys. No direction where my room was located, no complimentary water, no orientation to amenities, no conversation. He acted as I was a bother. Thankfully my new friends from the bell hop kindly walked me to my room 2 buildings over in the “tower”. If you need accessible access, do not book a room in the “upgraded” tower. It is quite difficult and cumbersome to access. The rooms were upgraded 3 years ago in this tower. To be honest, felt like a well used beach hotel. Shower floor stained, not vacuumed well, very humid, frayed towels, no coffee maker, no phone. My toiletries were no replenished daily. Bath mat was dirty and the “clean” towels had a huge hair ball in them. Gross! And the mini bottles of water in the room were not replenished regularly. FYI - no room service available and small coffee shop in the lobby was closed by 8:30 PM. When I needed to purchase medication for a colleague and kindly asked for water for her, I was denied by staff. We were able to get a very low room rate due to staying mid week ($200 a night) but will not be back. Lobby is beautiful, but everything else needs an overhaul including attitude of many staff members. Location is great to many restaurants and pier. Felt like a bait and switch with pics online vs real life!

Spent the weekend here for an evening wedding in the garden. Love this hotel! It’s epic old school with all the modern amenities. The room was clean and comfortable, especially the bathroom. That’s important when you’re getting ready for a wedding. Slept like a baby in the big, soft bed. The garden was the perfect setting for a wedding. There is also a huge room for the reception. My favorite was the bar. Ha! Also loved sipping coffee on the front porch. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would definitely return. Highly recommended!

We stayed in the historic section of The Vinoy, Room overlooked the beautiful bay and St Pete Pier. The room was great. Bedding very comfy. It was clean and well stocked. The staff throughout the hotel are doing a great job in what has been a tremendously difficult year for them due to the pandemic. We had dinner and breakfast at Paul's Landing and the food was fresh and delicious. Can't wait to go back for anther stay,

We have been bringing out boat to the Vinoy Marina for a number of years. The last time we were here I commented, I don't think they are keeping up with maintenance. It's even worse now. The slip they put us in B13 has a floating dock that is dangerous and falling apart. It very difficult to get on and off the boat. Very disappointed. The dock masters are really good guys, but they can not control the management of the hotel/Marina.

This building is historic in the "needs maintenance" sense. In the rooms, the shower fixtures and faucets had mold and mildew. Every metal surface in the room - such as door hinges and handles - were rusted. Our toilet in room 521 leaked water all over the floor and we reported it 3 times - nothing was ever done. Bathrooms in the public areas were out of service. The walls were thin - there was a screaming baby next door so we got little sleep. During our stay there were two events. All the staff were focused on those so there was no service in the main areas. We waited for 40 mins for a drink on the porch, got nothing. We wanted 30 mins inside until I went to the bar, and was given a bottle of water with no glass. On bar was completely closed on the Sunday. Every the front desk staff never asked how the stay was or did anything beyond the most basic functions of checking in and out. Literally nobody cares about guests here. The room service did little more than make the bed. We ran of out of toilet paper and cups and got no refills. We cut the stay short by a day because the whole experience was so terrible for $400 a night. I'm lucky enough to stay in 4 star hotels frequently and this was the worst I've ever experienced - avoid this decrepit hotel and the Bonvoy program which apparently doesn't matter much either. Additionally they charge $13 a day for wifi and $20 for parking, on top of the exorbitant rates.
