The location in St Pete is great, close to everything. You drive through an industrial area to get there. Sites are very close with small roads. Staff is helpful. New bathrooms. Not many other options in this area but I don’t think we’d stay there again.
This KOA is really nice, the grounds are kept clean and tidy. The showers and bathrooms are spotless, as is the laundry area. The pool is perfect with loungers and cute tiki huts to offer shade. The camp store is well stocked, and the employees are over the top accommodating (loved Gretchen)! The Lemon Bay rv spots are really fun, but there were other good looking spots throughout the grounds with shade trees. We’ll definitely be back!
In June of 2021 I excitingly booked a premiere site on the Bayou at this park. I told our friends in Canada and they booked a site next to us. It’s more expensive then other KOAs but I didn’t care as it was worth it to have water view. In December I got a message that our site had to be moved. I quickly called they said they ran into some issues on those sites. I said what about our friends who are staying next to us. They said their site wasn’t effected. Which I find out later it was but they moved them to another site on water. So we made our reservations first but we got moved. On the phone they assured me we would be close to them just not next to. When we arrived not only were we not near our friends we were at the other side of park in the middle of the long term residents . No pretty patio, no fire pit and a moldy picnic table. We still paid same as a beautiful water view site and got a terrible one. II contacted the manager she said too busy sorry no where else to put you I’ll send the guys over with a new picnic table and a fire pit. They gave us 2 packs of firewood as a sorry your site sucks here is some wood. We ended up taking the wood to our friends site. We never sat at our site. We made the best of the week spent any outside time at our friends. We rented a car and drove to their site or rode our bikes. I have a herniated disk and walking there at the other side of park was not an option. On the positive side, it was only a 10 minute drive to the beach, the pool was nice, the pinellas trail is easily accessed from the park & everyone was very friendly. I feel like we didn’t get what we paid for.…
Campground was very nice, very well maintained with a great staff of hard working people. Adjoining bike path is so- so going through highly congested residential area's and the water adjoining the campground is mostly covered with mangrove making it hard to see. Fort De'soto is the closest park, but a solid 45 minute drive through heavy congestion and traffic to get to it. Pool and hot tub were first class as was the general store. We have camped all over the country for several years and our biggest complaint about this campground is how crowded it was. We would have given it a 2 if it weren't for the very nice staff who went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. We just felt as though we couldn't get away from people and for that reason couldn't wait to get out of there and get to a campground where we could find some peace and quiet. When walking our dog we had to move over every few seconds because a truck / car / golf cart / bike was passing by. This was one of the biggest campgrounds we had visited and by far the most congested and for that reason we will not be returning.…
We live 20 minutes from the campground and we came for a getaway weekend. It’s literally in the the city. You would never know. The location is secluded and quiet and beautiful. We stayed in a Deluxe Kamping Cabin and it was clean and well stocked and actually pretty cool. The staff is great and the property is very well kept. There are lots of activities although we were content to just relax. Did go to the pool and hot tub though. We have done this type of stay here before and we absolutely will again. Thanks guys.
This gem of a campground is tucked away from the busy highways. It’s minutes away from beautiful Madeira Beach. Easy access to shopping and restaurants. The campground is clean and kept beautiful. It has everything you could ask for fo have a great time: kayaking, swimming in the pool, tennis, shuffle board, bike trail. Very friendly staff. We hope to be back again some day.
Nice KOA camping in St Petersburg area. Camping is nice, good amenities. My camping site was nice, back-in site at water. Camping is clean. Sites are a bit too close one to another. Also, a lot of noise at night. But still a good campground, I would definitely stay here again. Nice bike trail close to the campground.
Had a nice cabin, very very crowded. Pool small and crowded so we didn't go in. Had a broken toilet which was fixed immediately by the maintenance crew. They were very short staffed on a weekend but the cleaning crew came out to help on their day off. They were wonderful. i wish I could say the same about the office personnel. They were not welcoming at all and rude to a few that I saw. Have no customer service experience. We were testing out KOA to see if we wanted to stay with family but is too expensive when they charge extra for visitors. We probably won't stay again.
On a scale of 1-10, this campground is -00. Sites so small that you can barely get a camper in, with very small parking area. Office staff was friendly and helpful at check-in. Facilities were dirty/unkept. Some people with pets did not clean up after them and allowed them to use other sites for a potty. Parents not paying attention to their children messing with other camper hookups/sites(our water supply was turned off by the child next to us). The photos on their website really should be updated because those posted are not how the place really looks. We do not recommend this place.
We love KOAs but this one was disappointing. The lanes are very narrow and the sites are not level. There are tons of big trees which is awesome for shade. The staff here are amazing, friendly and extremely helpful. There are a lot of permanent sites here which is a disappointment to me. This KOA appears to be quite a bit older and in need of upgrades. The workout room is just a storage room full of Christmas decorations. The WiFi when it works is awesome. There aren’t any Deluxe sites as far as I can tell. I think they should do some major overhauls here and upgrade the areas.
