Well the campground is not directly on the gulf but is on the intercostal waterway. Stayed in the campground for a few days and one time for two weeks (that's the limit). We love it there. Even if the campground is full to capacity it's not crowded. The shower houses are adequate and pretty well maintained, after all it's a... More

I've been going to Fort Desoto campground for years and still love going there to camp. They have nice size lots with privacy between sites. They have a camp store for all your camping needs, you can order a pizza or have ice cream on site. The raccoon population is much less than years past. A nice place to relax,... More

We tried tent camping here for the first time in many years. Have to say we loved it. The campsite has electric and running water which is a plus. Weather was perfect. Clear skies so we got to see the stars and meteor shower. Our campsite was good size and had plenty of shade. We went fishing at both of... More

Very nice view from our campsite. The bathrooms could use an update. Although the rules state no alcohol, there where a lot of people openly drinking and the next morning, openly throwing up and peeing off the sea wall. I'm just glad my daughter and nephew didn't see it. The only down side is there is no where to go... More

We drove down from Orlando on a Saturday afternoon and hit some traffic in Tampa. The park was expansive and had several beaches to choose from. There were restrooms and showers available. There was even a dog beach. Only paid $5 for a parking fee and most of the lots had plenty of room.

We were tent camping in July (yes, hot) in these beautiful, very private sites, just off the water - important to note not a sandy beach front, where we stayed in site 38. Fairly basic facilities, but all the amenities you need, plus a little shop selling ice, food etc. Bathrooms are not air-conditioned, free wifi only works up by... More

We stayed in the pet camping area with our 2 pups mid September. We spent almost all our time at the dog beach and walking and exploring with our 2 girls. They also have a dog beach adjacent to the dog beach ! We loved it and they loved it, just not sure who loved it more ! The non... More

The site is good, spaces are flat and clearly defined. Plenty of shade. Each site has a picnic bench & grill although I'm not sure I'd put food on either. We had power and water hook up only - no cable, no internet; which isn't the end of the world. It was pretty windy this last weekend and the sites... More

We visitied here not for very long but it is such a nice place. A must go and stay if you love the outdoors and beach! You can rent bikes, kayaks, etc. Lovely views and great location! You do have to pay to get onto the park but could very easily spend the whole day here.
