This was by far the most unsanitary, unkempt hotel my husband and I have ever stayed in. We were there with our kids for a long weekend. We had 2 rooms for 3 nights. The most disturbing issue were the live cockroaches in one of the rooms all 3 nights/4 days. The hotel was extremely slow to respond and said that they placed a call to pest control on our behalf, but pest control never called them back. We had to call the front desk on this issue 4 times and visit them twice throughout the day to request that they spray the room which never did get sprayed by a professional pest control company per the front desk. We were told that the hotel general manager went out and bought bug spray and came back and sprayed our room. We asked to speak with the general manager of the hotel and apparently he was not available to us for the entire duration of our stay. Not once did he reach out to us, call us, or apologize to us. We have yet to hear from him about our concerns. We've emailed him twice and he still has not responded. We asked them for a full refund for the "cockroach" room and they would only comp one night, rather than all 3 nights because it had to be approved by the general manager who, again won't respond to us. This was the response by a front desk employee "It is Florida. We have bugs." We have a video and photos of the roaches in our room. I can only imagine what's running through the kitchens on that property. In addition to all of that, when we arrived and checked in, we were told that housekeeping services is only available every 4 days. This was not disclosed to us when making the reservation on the phone and it should have been. It is an expected daily service at a hotel. The carpeting in the hallways to our rooms was not vacuumed once in 4 days. The same trash and crumbs that were there on the day of our arrival were on the floor the day we left. Additionally, there was trash every morning by the pool, beer cans and soda cans piled up, food containers on tables, pizza boxes laying around, towels thrown all over the place, pool chairs and recliners out of place. There was trash in the little canal you had to walk over every morning to get to the beach. The only thing this hotel has going for it is the beach. I have never given a bad review of a hotel, but the fact that the general manager has been unresponsive to us and our concerns warranted this review.

We had 3 nights at this hotel and wish we could have stayed for longer. We have a 4 year old and there was so much for us all to do, we all had the best time. The staff in the hotel are excellent and really go out of their way to look after you and give the best service. In particular, Heather who was our waitress at Breakfast in the Bermuda restaurant. She was friendly and funny and looked after us so well. I can recommend eating in the restaurants and the bars we tried the Tiki Bar for lunch every day and it was great. We also ate in the sports bar, the Italian and Bermuda and all were very good. If you are traveling to this area with a family I highly recommend this hotel. We will be returning.

One of the dirtiest places we've ever stayed. The canal used by paddle boats was full of trash that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks if not months. There was even an old beach ball floating in it that was full of mold and mildew. The glass doors were full of dirty fingerprints and were never cleaned/wiped down during our stay. They don't tell you that housekeeping only comes to your room every third day. And they piled the trash/dirty towels outside our door and left it there overnight. For the nightly room rate this is just unacceptable. The tables surrounding the pool are full of trash first thing in the morning. The walls are so thin that you can hear people speaking in normal tones in the room next to you. There was broken tile in our room and the bathtub was rusted and had rings. One of the sofa cushions was ripped. The lack of cleanliness was very concerning in regards to guest safety during the coronavirus pandemic. Definitely not a place I'd be willing to stay at again nor take my family to. The place definitely reminded me of a Spring Break level hotel - definitely NOT the impression given by their web-site nor their nightly rate.

First if I gotta name drop! Tina at the front desk made me want to stay more nights, she was great, friendly and happy. Brooklyn from Long Island New York was great with upgrading me to another night and very friendly. Emily at the front desk saved my night by finding me a brand new phone charger because I lost mine and we talked with her for 1/2 hour and she was lovely. The most memorable was the security guard Nick we seen him more than we should have lol but was very understanding on us on vacation. Best stay I’ve ever had at a resort and it’s all because these very nice, funny, happy, friendly employees.

This is my 3rd time staying at the TradeWinds Resort, It's May 15th, 2020 post/during COVID-19. I must say that the friendliness and welcoming STAFF at the Tradewinds has made my stay. Just as friendly, helpful, and kind as the RITZ or the 4 Seasons! It feels so good after everything we are going through to be greeted by such wonderful staff. ASHLYN @ FRONT DESK CHECKIN was incredible, SAFE, friendly and kind. She welcomed my friend in I like we were family. She did her job well and made our process fast and hands free. My FAVORITE EMPLOYEE AT THE TRADEWINDS was BYANCHA in the DELI AREA. She greeted my friend and I, and asked if my family and friends were all healthy and well, she also asked if there was anything she could do to make our stay better, and her WARM, CARING, FRIENDLY demeanor was so refreshing. BYANCHA made our day and STAY AT THE TRADEWINDS. Thank you TRADEWINDS for giving me such a wonderful experience after this horrific time we are in. I love you guys!!!! Kevin S Naples, FL
