Upon arrival, you could tell that the cleaners missed this room. First of all, the air filters were dated 11/2020 and my stay is 3 months later. There were inches of dust on the vents and 2 filters. The balcony had weeks of bird poop which is not good as Florida has bird flu. The vacuums are not capable of getting under the bed. The bathroom amenitites have rust on them. The doors have not been wiped down and need repairs badly. I borrowed a vacuum to clean under the bead, and it was full of dust and not clean. This is not a covid issue as the wear is more than a year old. It is badly run down. If you have allergies or want a clean place go somewhwere else.... During covid, this room should smell and look sanitized. This is more of a 2.5 rating room.
This is one my favorite resorts! It’s located right on the beach, lots of activities to do for all ages, laid back and close to Publix and other restaurants within walking distance. You never have to leave the resort . I wish that they had full kitchens but they do have a mini fridge, microwave and dishes. Many of the activities are free with your stay and you can reserve a cabana for free every night of your stay, just reserve the night before!
DO NOT STAY HERE. We had a horrible experience with this place. We checked in Friday night, and early Saturday morning went to visit friends in Naples and stayed over night and returned 6 PM the following day ( sunday). On Saturday night while we were in Naples I got a call from the resort asking if we were in our room because security is knocking at our door and I said no we are in Naples, two hours away. They wouldn't tell me what was going on. 24 hours later when we finally returned the next day our key cards were terminated. Security came up and told us we were being evicted because someone complained they smelled pot the day before. We weren't even there. They gave us no information, no documentation of when this complaint was filed. It made absolute no sense since we weren't even on the premises. They denied us documentation for the incident and didn't let us talk to anyone else in management. I truly think they had the wrong room since 1. We don't smoke and 2. We weren't even on the premises for 24 hours. Essentially they stole our money because we paid in full up front. We will be filing a claim with this hotel.…
We came here to the TradeWinds Island Grand Resort in October as one of my life long friends was getting married here. Of course, in the era of Covid, this review may or may not perfectly paint a picture of our experience had we stayed during normal operations, however this is my honest review of this hote: To begin, when you get to the hotel, there is a security guard that stops all guests driving up to see if they're checking out or visiting. The security guard was super friendly and, being dressed up in his hawaiian shirt and fedora, made you feel like you were ready to start your vacation! Once in the lobby, the gentleman checking us in was the most hospitable and friendly front desk employee I think I've ever come across (and we live in Orlando, the mecca of all things hospitality). He answered all questions, offered us bottles of water and made us feel welcomed right from the get go. When we checked into our room, it was decently nice, however super small. It could certainly use some updating, but nothing beyond the normal stereotypical beach hotel you're probably picturing in your mind. The bed itself doesn't strike me as being bad, but also didn't blow me away. For amenities, because we were here for a wedding, we were very limited on time so we didn't really experience much. What I will say is that if there's one thing this hotel does really well it, it's their outdoor experiences. This hotel has multiple pools, bars, putt-putt golf course and more. They also have a private section of the beach where you can slide down a 30+ feet inflatable slide or lay seaside in their lounge chairs. The couple of bars we got drinks at had a solid menu option and great frozen drinks for a cheap price!. The wedding and reception were both outside. In Florida, it's going to be hot no matter where you are. On the beach, we at least got a breeze blowing to help cool us down. However in center courtyard, the sheer size and shape of the hotel blocked virtually all of the breeze keeping it a bit hotter until the sun set. The wedding was great, it still was a very pretty venue. Of course, St. Pete has one of the top rated beaches in the country, so location is prime for sure! Overall, for the price the value isn't quite up to par. Could be Covid, could just be an upcharge for the area. I will say this is definitely a great spot for families to stay at given the amount of outside activities available, as well as couples looking for a beach getaway.…
We chose this resort because of the amazing pictures online that showed a refreshed, modern and clean hotel. When we arrived, we walked past old a/c units in the parking lot and rusted golf carts. As we continued to walk through the resort, the put put course (3 holes) was ripped and falling apart, however we decided to still check in and wait for our room. The front desk said we could use the amenities while we waited, as we walked to the beach we passed the crowded pool area where the DJ was doing so some sort of contest with guests. We waited at a cabana which was ripped and no cushions which again, did not reflect the online pictures. Finally I decided to confirm that our room would be the same as the online pictures. The front desk response was the "room had 2 beds and a gulf view but couldn't confirm if the room was the same". At that point I had seen enough and cancelled our reservation. Overall the hotel seems worn down and tired, and while this appears to be family friendly, it seems more like adult spring break. The pictures online are not reflective of the resort.…
