It would not have been half as fun without Andy. He had us laughing and feeling good the entire time. He made the best rum runners and quick. No matter how busy it got. You gotta stop by the Flying Bridge and see Andy anytime your at the Tradewinds.
I was down on vacation with one sole purpose in mind, to get inebriated and meet ladies. So where did I go? To the flying bridge at the tradewinds resort to see my favorite bartender, Andy. The new uniforms threw me off but they were wlecoming and easy on the eyes. I asked Andy for some life advice and he said "you're on the beach baby, live it up, we are back!" It hit home and I remembered why I was down there. I asked Andy if he knew of any good spots on the beach later that night and he told me he was DJing at another bar, so I attended. Andy is also a phenomenal DJ. I met a lady that night and fulfilled my vacation desires, exceeding them actually. I owe it all to Andy.
Got too the resort bright and early the room wasnt ready yet so i went exploring ! found the nearest bar where i met this hilarious bartender Andy at the flyjng bridge ! he was truly enjoying his job every day , made delicious drinks and great recommendations all around town ! i ever went too his DJ show he does on the weekends! the cabanas were awesome i recommended paying the e tra $15 too get front row ! overall great trip ! definitely gonna make it back !
My family and I have been going to TW for ten years now. It has sentimental value to us as a family and we just love this resort and St. Pete. We had not been since 2017, due to my father being ill. After his passing last year (2021) we decided to go this June 2022 as a family and celebrate my dad. What we endured at our favorite destination spot was not to our liking. The pools ( minus the adult pool) were disgustingly dirty and the water was very cloudy. The fire alarm went off at 12:30 am and then again 2 days later in the early morning. Not a single manager or staff member notified us as to what happened nor did we receive an apology for the huge inconvenience. Very poor, on management’s part. Next I would like to address the ongoing elevator problem. Which has been occurring for the last 3 times we’ve been to TW. Elevators overheating, and breaking down. Guests walking flights of stairs in 95 degree weather because the elevators are not working or there is a long wait for the one elevator that does work. This is a serious problem that needs to be addressed and RESOLVED once and for all. Housekeeping did not come regularly to clean our room, even after calling the front desk and direct line twice and being told that someone would be “right up”. We went two days with out clean towels or a clean room. I understand staffing issues in our country right now, but when a guest calls to request this and is told someone will come right away and no one does, that is completely unacceptable. My mother is a diamond Paradise Club member and has been for over ten years. To experience these issues on a vacation that is supposed to be relaxing and stress free is ridiculous. Tradewinds needs some dire upgrades to the overall hotel presentation, rooms, paint etc. Most importantly the elevator situation needs to be resolved and maintained. We will be traveling elsewhere next summer, as we need a place to stay that meets our needs and presents to us a relaxing, stress free vibe.…

Andy C is the definition of 5 star service at The Flying Bridge. I am a repeat customer because of him. Great energy, all smiles and genuinely cares about his customers! He is always a highlight of my day!
Family and I visited from a Sunday - Wednesday in early June. We had a blast! Location was perfect, activities for the kids were non stop, and being able to walk between Tradewinds Island Grand and Rumfish Beach Resort allowed a different change of scenery and amenities. It was busy, even during midweek, but the beach was not overcrowded. Ability to reserve cabanas (free, except 1st row was $15) was a must. The pool areas were packed at times but you just picked and choose a different pool if it was too much. Only complaint about the pools was they were closed frequently for cleaning. (This is a good thing right?) and were often cloudy (too much sand?). No sickness here though. The 1 bedroom gulf front ( 2 doubles and a pull out sofa) was just right for our family of 5. Sofa bed could’ve been more comfortable, not very thick, but having a kitchenette (full size fridge/freezer, cooktop, microwave, and toaster) was a must for breakfast or to come back in the middle of the day to have lunch and cool down. Would definitely keep Tradewinds Island Grand at the top of our list next time we return.…
Matthew did a great job wrangling all 7 kids and 8 adults to get some great shots! He was really easy to work with to set up the picture time, even moved it easily to fit our schedule better. Really loved the big group shots he got and love the individual ones of the kids! Getting the pictures done was a great way to remember this family trip!
Stayed here with friends who invited us to go on vacation with them. Very nice resort! Rooms were very clean and comfortable. It wasn’t fancy but had everything you need. The beach and facility was nice with several dining options and several pools. We had a great stay. The staff was also very accommodating and friendly.
