I came to The Don to spend a day at the beach and Matt and Kyle set up a bed for me, they’re both amazing and so was my server Kurt, so nice and helpful with everything! My day at The Don was so fun, would 100% recommend asking for either of these guys when coming to visit!

we spent 3 nights at the end of our florida vacation at the Don and i have to say we were wowed. what an elegant property and so much history. let me start by saying there was definatly construction going on and you will be aware of this that being said we were told up front before we came that some resturants and parts of the pool were under construction so be prepared. we had some issues but they were all taken care of by front office manager stephanie with total profesionalism it is because of her we will be back iwould also like to say every employee of this hotel we came in contact with was awsome and friendly. big shout outs to Mikey and sallie at the lobby bar are great assets to this property. and tall Paul by the pool was great!!!! we will be back to see all the upgrades that the construction was happening thanks to all who work there.

My wife and I love the Don Cesar. We go every October and while there was some construction going on at the hotel it in no way impeded our enjoyment. Everyone that works there is attentive and helpful. Matthew on the beach was awesome and made sure my wife and I were taken care of all weekend. I recommend the property and can’t wait come back and enjoy the new upgrades to the hotel.

Don't plan to get any rest in your room between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm, as the hotel renovation is currently on the entire 4th floor of the hotel. The reservationist I spoke with at great length when making the booking made no mention of this. Nor did she advise that three of the six dining options are closed. The Maritime, Beachcomber, and Sea Porch Cafe are all closed. There we no bellman to bring the bags to or from the room. There is no room service either, or any type of snack/drink offerings in the room, so bring food with you of your arrival is after 10 pm (as was ours). While we do have a distant view of the ocean, we can't hear the waves or enjoy the salty breeze because there is no balcony and the windows do not open, although they have latches on them as if they were designed to. Be sure to book your spa appointments ahead of your stay, as we were told upon our arrival that there was no massage availability for the entire length of our stay (though to their credit, they did call us when a cancellation arose). Don't expect any concessions for any of that inconvenience in the way of price or service either. When we called the front desk about the noise at 9 am on a Sunday, the female attendant curtly informed us, "It's the construction. The whole fourth floor. 9 to 5." As if we should have either known that or been out of our room for the day? There is no housekeeping service either, no inquiry of whether we even need fresh water bottles or towels. Nothing. For $630 per night this is subpar IMO. Just sayin.
