I booked 2 rooms Dec. 2019 at RumFish Beach Resort by TradeWinds for my daughter's July 2020 wedding, through Otel.com. I received several emails confirming our reservations. When my daughter arrived on 7/16/20, she was told by the hotel staff that we didn't have reservations because Otel.com had cancelled them on 7/7/20. I did not receive any notification indicating anything had been cancelled, The lady that supposedly talked to Otel.com, Kim, from Rumfish, was conveniently gone for the day when I arrived at the hotel 15 minutes later, but they were willing to give me a "deal." In order to not upset the bride and myself, I booked and paid for 2 new rooms. I tried to reach Otel.com to no avail. It is located in Turkey and I don't have an international calling plan. We went to the room and my son, who is in a wheelchair, couldn't even get into the room or the bathroom because they were so small. They did relocate us to another room, but all the bedrooms are very small. My daughter's room was so small that you could hardly walk through when the luggage was in the room. My husband, son and I checked out on 7/19/20, but my daughter and her husband stayed at the hotel through 7/23/20. I paid for the bride-and-groom's room for 4 nights, but after I checked out, Rumfish tried to get them to pay again, claiming it had not been paid. I had to send screenshots from my charge card app showing where the payment had posted to keep them from having to pay again. Wow, they almost received money 3 times for that room! Since I have returned home, I have tried to get in touch with Otel.com by phone, which I cannot, so I have entered 2 tickets/emailed, but have not heard back. I have called the hotel, but they say they cannot help me. Kim, who had talked to Otel.com, refuses to get on the phone with me or give me any helpful information so I can reach Otel. com to try to resolve this. There is so much more to this story, but I'm trying to stick to the short version. The hotel did not produce any evidence of the cancellation, except to verbally inform us that Otel cancelled the reservations. So Otel has $1263.35 of my money and now RumFish Beach Resort has $1480.10 of my money and they are not helpful at all. My credit card company won't dispute the December charge because it is more than 6 months ago and won't dispute the July charge because we stayed at the hotel & rendered services. I am angry and disappointed with all of them. I will never recommend or stay at RumFish Beach Resort by TradeWinds in St. Petersburg, FL again. I will never recommend or book through Otel.com again. I'm not sure if this is a scam or a big bunch of mistakes, but I do know they both ended up with my money and I have very few options for getting it back. The other thing I do know is that Kim from Rumfish, does not have the customer's best interest on her agenda.

Hotel's Favorite
This was our 3 rd visit to this Resort. Great accommodations, front desk staff was so nice to work with. Alma our maid did a very nice job making sure our room was clean and tidy each day, even lining up our shoes. The Captain was awesome and had lots of good information and tips on fishing. Overall, this is our favorite vacation destination and resort!

Stayed here for 4 nights this past weekend. The place is super nice. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The facility was clean and well maintained. We upgraded from a standard room one level up - which was really nice. It had the bedroom on one end, bathroom/kitchen in the middle, and living/balcony on the other end. The pool/beach/outdoor-bar areas are really nice. I wouldn't say 10-star (in most people's eyes), but probably 8.5-star - which is what we like. It didn't have an overly stuffy/boujee feel. It had a laid-back resort feel with the beach area just on the other side of an area of tropical foliage. The beach is incredible. Great white sand, very comfortable sandy/walk-able slope to/through the water. On Sat night, a really talented musician was set up near the pool bar area. That was fun to have. One small complaint I would have would be the daily maintenance/setup of the beach area. While the other resorts had their beach lounger umbrella/shades set up early (~7am?), RumFish didn't typically have anyone out there to set up the umbrella/shades until more like 9 or 10. You can't set them up yourself, as they keep the support ports locked up. Also, although the area is beautiful leading from the pool/bar area to the beach, it would be icing on the cake if someone walked through there early every morning and picked up any bits of trash that came in overnight. We went out to the beach nearly every morning to sit on a lounger, have coffee and watch the sunrise (which is actually behind the building, but the sky/beach/surrounding is still stunning). It certainly wasn't "trashy" by anyone's definition, but there were always a few bits of straw rappers/napkin/etc. There's also a green extension cord across one of the paths that is intended to be buried in the sand - but part of it is exposed. CLEARLY this is being super petty, but with such a great setting and such great other things at the resort, those little things (like I said) add up to icing on the cake. Ok, just one more complaint :) is the price of the drinks at the bar. $12 for a red Solo cup-sized margarita full of ice is more in line with cruise-ship pricing. Next time I'll definitely bring my own stuff and just carry it out onto the beach. If the drink prices were more reasonable I believe it would encourage more sales. Ok I promise this is my last complaint, but the on-site Starbucks isn't a corporate Starbucks, so don't expect normal Starbucks treatment or products. The hours were loose. The pastries were VERY dry, but just as expensive (maybe more) than corporate stores. Oh, big shout out to the bellman (Rob). Super nice, friendly and helpful guy, as well as Sade and Chris at the front desk. Really everyone we interacted with was great.

We were able to check in early that was great ! We had Gulf view suite with balcony. It was fabulous! The suite was clean, well stocked with towels. It had dishes, silverware, coffeemaker. Most dats the resort pool was crowded we expected that, but we came for the beach. Pool was packed way too many people with No social distancing on July 4th. Stayed far away from it. But it did not spoil our trip ! Staff were compliant guests were Not !!!! Cabana guys were great ! Even on busiest day the 4th we were still able to get a cabana. The water slide was great ! Plenty clean beach/pool towels. A lot of activities were not open but the hotel just reopened, so to be expected with Covid. We had a great time @ Rumfish ! Fireworks on beach was beautiful! Rumfish Restaurant was a delight !

We booked our stay in Dec for a July visit. We chose the resort for all the fun activites. We were disappointed to wake up and see that the floating island was not there. Many of the advertised activites were closed including a prepaid snorkle in the tank due to covd, which we understand. However I feel we should have had notification so we could have the option to reschedule as we chose this resort for those activities. Finding out the first day was disappointing and to add to that we still had to pay the $45.00 per day (7) resort fee even though half the activites were no longer running. They did offer replacement activities but they were for smaller children not teens. The resort was very clean and for the most part (2) the staff was very friendly. Our favorite staff member was Victor Ortiz! Our first day there we watched him interact with families by the pool, having fun, making people laugh! When we met him he treated us like family. I saw as the days went by he treated every guest like family! We could see he truly loved his job and always went above and beyond making sure eeryone was enjoying themsleves. There was never a moment Victor was not makeing someone smile. We also had a great expereince with another employee in security Zima He was so kind and showed careing for us. Just a beautiful soul. The stay was very nice, the hotel was clean and masks were provided throught the hotel for guests. Beaware the gulf facing suites do not have balconies, just a sliding door that opens with a railing, not as good as a full balcony but better than the door not openeing. All in all it was a nice resort, I just wish we were given notice about all the activities closed and still paying full price resort fees. Thank you Victor and Zima foe making us feel so welcome and hapy throuout our stay, you truly made it better!
