I booked this hotel for myself and an 8 lb chiweenie. I had called another local BW that had a pet fee of $30. I did not know that BW was a franchise. When I arrived, the pet fee was $40 with a non-refundable deposit of $75 that is not posted on the website. Since it was too late to cancel because I would have lost the $166 hotel cost, I agreed. I appealed to waive and was given a sheet to approve costs. This was not on it so I thought it was waived. The receipt the next day included the cost. At this hotel, a $166 cost turned into $322 for the worst room in the building. Adjacent to the cleaning/maintenance room and the back was adjacent to the kitchen of a large restaurant next door. Things got poppin at 7 a.m. I called BW customer service and they called this hotel to justify the $75 non-refundable. The hotel said, and get ready for this, that they had to use special ozone machine to clean the air! Scam response. Yeah, for an 8 lb chiweenie that stayed for one night. We were not even in the room for 8 hours of the 21 hours. A deposit is great, for any amount, but a non-refundable and a bold face lie is crazy. Dog owners run and other guests should avoid room 111. This dog has stayed in probably 100 room nights elsewhere across the US with no issues!…
We had a very nice stay at the Best Western St. Augustine Beach Inn. Hannah was so nice and helpful, and we really appreciated how welcome she made us feel. The location is great, less than 5 minutes from the room to the ocean! They were pet-friendly as well, which was great since we had our Yorkshire Terrier with us. There were plenty of great restaurants nearby, and plenty of parking spaces. The breakfast was a grab-and-go bag due to COVID, but it was fine for us. The room was basic, but clean and had a very large TV. My parents stayed at another hotel down the road, and our room was by far the nicer of the two. We would stay there again!
We had scheduled this trip to St. Augustine months ago. It was to be a pre-anniversary trip and the first time I was to be there. The room was very satisfactory and we were able to be on the first floor which is important now. Parking was fine and breakfast was okay. The are is quiet and not over touristy.
Just got done spending 4 great nights. Beds were comfortable, room was clean and breakfast was great. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again. Location was great for everything we wanted to do.
We were looking for a place to stay mid way from home in NC to South Florida. We decided to detour so we could see the beach. What a great decision! Comfortable bed. Clean room. Hot Whirlpool tub and breakfast. We will make this detour on the way back too.
Property and room was very clean. The pool area was clean. Weather didn't permit using it though. Just a short walk to the beach. Breakfast was served near the main office area. It was served buffet style. Fruit, omelets, potatoes and sweet sausage. There was cereal for the kiddos, coffee, juice, tea and hot chocolate.
Staff was great. Very helpful in planning our day Breakfast was good. Plenty of choices I would stay here again but ask for first floor room since there are no elevators The hotel does show signs of aging Very close to the beach. Walking distance
Very nice hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast, close to the beach and only a few minutes to the center of St-Augustine. Even though this hotel is not a Best Western plus is one of the best we stayed.
For the convenience of being close to the beach, close to restaurants, and close to The Amp (the amphitheater for concerts) this fits the bill. It's also clean. We did not use the breakfast in the morning or the pool. However, we attended a concert, and it was perfect. It's very clean, and we slept great! The hotel is across the street from the beach.
About two blocks to the beach. Cross A1A street and the beach access is two small blocks away. Hop on and Off Trolley stops right in front of this motel so you don't have to deal with parking or driving downtown. Room was clean and comfortable beds. Breakfast was usual hotel breakfast.
