This hotel is so cute, cozy, quiet, fun, and safe. I have been staying in this hotel every other weekend for school. It's a beautiful oasis for families with children, couples looking for a quiet getaway, or if you're a student in the area it is a perfect place to study and decompress. The hotel is close to restaurants, the beach, and grocery stores. The owners are the kindest human beings you will ever meet! If you are ever in St. Augustine, this is the best place to stay!

Location is walking distance from the beach with Ocean Hammock park next door! I enjoyed my stay here. My room was big and clean with a comfortable king bed. The owners, Steve, and his wife Hanna are very friendly and welcoming and as a single traveling professional, I felt very safe here. I'm also glad to have found a relaxing hotel that enforces "quiet hours" for a good night's sleep. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a great location on the beach and want to support local!

I should've known when she took my cc info over the phone, and because is was for that night that my card would be charged and it was non-refundable. Upon arrival, I checked in at the night desk (outside through a window, what they've been using since Covid I guess), I received a single key card for 2 adults staying and was directed where to park and access the stairs to our room. There was literally no one else staying there. Awkward layout in the room but that was the least of our worries. It was musty, cheap furniture and linens. I'm not sure that the sheets were cleaned after the last occupant as there was hair in the bed and holes in the sheets. I kept waiting for a big to crawl over my sandaled foot. We left for a bit and went to the boardwalk, talked it over and decided to scrap our losses and go stay somewhere else. I could not imagine actually sleeping there.

I had decided to stay in St Augustine for a night on a last minute trip. Since it was spring break, I couldn't book one of the large resorts with beach access. I was actually happy to stay at St Augustine Island Inn. The hotel room was clean and quiet and the room had everything I needed. The owner/host was very nice. Also the walk to the beach was a short, pleasant walk. I wouldn't recommend it for a long stay but it is fine for a night or two. I would stay there again. Pillows were a little hard though.

The room was damp and all of our clothes/belongings got damp, including extra toilet paper and paper towels we brought from home. There were not enough towels and they were rough and stained. The sheets were see through and bedspreads were stained. Some have posted reviews about the hotel being renovated. THIS HOTEL IS NOT RENOVATED, but certainly needs one. Additional $20 per day for parking and $20 per day for our extra guest. 32 rooms with only approximately 20 parking spots! Not a pleasant stay for $217 per night. The only positive thing I can say is that it was convenient to everything we wanted to do.

The hotel is very well located in a very safe area, surrounded by a very expensive gated community residential area. Within walking distance to a path or walking deck that take you direct to the beautiful white sanding beaches.

The check in process was very strange as we couldn’t go in the lobby at all due to COVID even though most places are open without mask requirements now. The hotel itself needs a major facelift. There were cigarette holes in our sheets, blanket and comforter despite a $250 fine for smoking. The mattress and pillows were not comfortable. The AC unit did not seem to be very effective so we had to turn it down in the 60s to keep our room cool. When we left for the day, we came back to find the staff had turned the unit back up so it was warm and muggy. The staff also replaced some towels and toilet paper but didn’t make the bed. The shower looked dirty and water pressure wasn’t great. The towels felt like drying yourself off with sandpaper. We were also under the impression it was closer to the beach, but it is far from that. It doesn’t appear they’ve renovated or replaced anything since it was built which it is in desperate need of. I’m disappointed to say I spent $182 per night to stay in something equivalent or worse than a Motel 6.

We checked into this hotel, went to the room and knew that we could not stay. It was musty, dirty, outdated and gross. There were several cigarette burns in the blanket covering the bed. The bathroom had not been cleaned. We immediately asked for a refund and were told no by the person at the front desk. Any hotel should honor a guest asking for a refund in such circumstances. We were offered another room, but did not want to stay at this disgusting hotel. We went down the road to the Marriott - lesson learned!! Do NOT book here!

Working for Instacart brought me to St Augustine beach, though I normally choose Hilton properties budgetary constraints would not permit. The Island Inn has free covered self parking, wide open windows, superior water pressure, and clean retro styled rooms located yards from the ocean. Nice clean pool that was too cold to swim unfortunately though It was tempting. From what I gathered it is family owned <or> managed. I checked in very late hours after my ETA but the innkeeper checked me in with a smile. If you're looking for pampering or luxury this is not the spot. If you like quiet and zero hassles choose the Island Inn. Covid restrictions did not allow for use of the lobby or any breakfast but that was compensated w/ a low competitive rate as compared to the surrounding branded properties. I could stay there again maybe even try one of their premium jacquizz rooms next time. IDK let you know.

I was very excited to be staying with the inn, having chosen it for the pool, balcony, and proximity to the beach. But from minute one, it disappointed, and never got any better. When we checked in I requested a second card key and was told no...neither I nor my friend have never been denied a second card key anywhere else we have. ever stayed. Very strange and inconvenient. Much more importantly, the room I booked was described as a pool view balcony room online and the room I got did NOT have a balcony OR a view of the pool from the room. It had a slider that opened onto a completely covered porch that was shared with 3 other rooms. At the end of the shared porch/patio was one short area with a railing that. had a side view of the pool area. But it was in no way a "balcony" nor was my room pool view in any way. The four ac units pouring hot air onto this covered patio area made it intolerable to use for pleasure and the design made it impossible to have ANY natural light in the room, since opening the curtain meant the opposite room could look directly into ours. Not that it would have gotten THAT much light anyway since the entire porch was covered/got little natural light. So our room was dark and dreary...not the beachy Florida poolview/balcony room I had expected at all. The room looked very little like the one pictured online in general, with screws holding up ugly pictures over the beds (it looked like they could fall at any moment) and dingy colors and feel. I went to the front desk to request a room change and was told all the actual balcony rooms were under construction but that mine was "considered a balcony." I gave up at that point. Our request to the front desk for extra towels was also completely ignored. (They answered the phone and said they would bring but never did.) However we d DID receive a phone call at 1045am reminding us of 11am checkout (also a hotel first for both me and my friend... and both of us are well travelled.) Overall incredibly disappointed with our stay and I will be filing a report with booking.com in hopes of a refund. It is a shame because location was great.
