We have been coming to Bryn Mawr for years, the kids always loved it because they have a pool and the ocean. There are two pools one for families and one for adults. It has not changed much through the years other than a lot of full time trailers. We try to get down close to the ocean where there are less of them. The beach is the biggest draw for this park, they have 4 boardwalks with beautiful sand dunes between the campground and the ocean. We have saw a variety of small animals in the dunes so have the kids look for them. Most of the campsites have raised decks so you can see beyond dunes which is nice, it gets you off the ground and out of the water if it’s raining. It’s just about 5 miles to the fort and old St Augustine and the lighthouse is even closer. There is a Publix and a Winn Dixie just down the road, and a lot of restaurants to choose from. Our kids are grown now but we will keep coming back to Bryn Mawr. …
Has its pros and cons, but the ocean access “forgives” many of the cons. Beautiful beach is huge accessible via four wooden walkways across the dunes. No road to cross. Sites themselves vary from large with elevated and covered deck, to narrow and stacked in. Try to stay as close to the beach as possible for best sites. However, the ocean cannot be seen directly from any sites as the dunes block the view. Inner roads are narrow. Long units should pay for a drive through as back ins (except the most expensive ones closest to the dunes) would be very tight. Nice pool , okay cable, weak WiFi. Many long timers, but none look hoarded. We will return - for the great ocean access.
Very nicely located but don’t come here if you want relaxation...the park is loaded with people working on their camps. Sanding, drilling, hammering sawing all day long. Monday thru Friday I could tolerate but even Sunday mornings! The camps are on top of each other with very little privacy. The proximity to downtown St Augustine is great but I would never come back or recommend!
The good: it's by the beach, 2 nice pools, full hook up, close to shopping and restaurants. The not so good: tight getting in for a big rig, narrow roads and tight turns, very close neighbors, compact sand roads. We have a 40'DP and made it ok. A neighbor with a 45' fifth wheel had to take out some poles to get in his site and is very concerned about getting out. Would come back when I need my beach time.
We just had a rally of 24-26 Rv’s for two or more nights each. The office was pleasant to book. However a few of our group were not treated in a friendly manner. It appears this is not a resort that is owned and run by a company. It is personally owned lots rented under the resort name. Our friends were told one thing about parking but the owners association did not agree and sent security to let them know the President of their HOA wanted them to move. Then with bad weather we inquired about a room space for a potluck dinner. $50for three hours/ $150 minimum. Most places have been complimentary, or a reduced rate for booking such a large function. No such luck. We paid and when we were almost at three hours they sent in security to make sure we cleared out. The security guy even opened the fridge, grabbed a beer of ours and walked out with it. We did leave it cleaner than we found it so that should appease them. It’s in a great area but they are high priced for roads with potholes, a hot tub that doesn’t work properly, and bathrooms that could be cleaner but hey, they do pick up your trash in the morning.…
