Our family of 20+ people, staying in 6 rooms, spending almost $10,000, will NEVER return to this ‘private resort’ again. It is such a shame because the location is great. The condo itself was mediocre, the items inside looked like they were all bought from a thrift store, including all kitchen accessories. The unit was clean but stocked with the bare minimum. The reason our family will not be returning is due to the ‘security guard’ Guy. He harassed and bullied our family and other families while in the pool. He was extremely unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful. After reading our rental agreement for rules about the pool, it states “no food, and no glass bottles.” Nothing was written about drinks or drinking. You couldn’t even bring snacks for your little kids, if you wanted. For a private resort, it is not accommodating whatsoever. Upon the employee starting his shift, he would immediately come to the pool, and claim he received several complaints about drinks around the pool. He did this EVERY single day. The first day he did it, another family stated “he ran them out of the pool the day prior by making that same remark.” He even went over to an older mother and daughter, and asked them what they had in their Yeti tumblers, and made them remove them. They were so threatened by him, they chose to leave. He actually went as far as calling police on our family twice. When the police arrived, they had nothing to say and did not have any reason to be there or take action. After they left he came back to say we were lucky he didn’t have them remove us from the property. Later one night, after we returned from dinner, he followed our truck back to see which room we were staying in. We then saw him looking through our vehicle with a flashlight. When asked what he was doing he stated “looking for your parking permit.” The permit was hanging off the mirror on the windshield, why would he need to be looking in our backseats? For a private resort to employee and allow this behavior by a staff member is absolutely terrible. Other families had the same interactions and were complaining stating they would never be returning. I am so disgusted and disappointed with our vacation here. It’s a shame.…
Nice place but guard gate “officer” named Guy patrols the pool to be sure no adults have a beer in a can or any food. Guard gate people not friendly. Bottled water only at pool and no food. Never been to private resort that you could not enjoy a can of beer or plastic glass drink at the pool. Will not go back and it’s a shame as our unit was nice. Very dumb rules and cop wanna be at gate has an attitude. We are 60+ couple had 2 beers on the beech prior to pool … not impolite or causing any problems at all and frankly just really surprised.
Two bedroom, two bath Condo, dated but close to beach, groceries and food options. Lots of things to do and places to go after long walks on the beach. Not having any luck getting our $500 deposit back. Calling yet again today.
Condo development with identical 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condos. The management office was wonderful. The pools and beach were pristine plus there are tennis courts, an activity clubhouse with exercise classes, card games and social events. But the condos are in varying degrees of condition. We stayed in 2 different ones to accommodate our schedule. The first one was 3208 and had a new kitchen with great appliances and cookware; not much of a view. The second one was 3323 and it was very tired. In need of a major overhaul.....but it had a great view. I would have cooked more but the appliances, cookware and everything else in the kitchen was pretty lame. Plenty of decent restaurants nearby.
Some of these units are seriously outdated. We stayed in 3306, it was pretty clean but don’t choose this one if you want to cook and are picky about details. The stove and cookware needed to be replaced about 20 years ago and the contents of the cabinets looked like they had been purchased on a $20 budget at the thrift store. Master bath is nice, has a walk in shower and seems like it was recently remodeled. Living room and balcony were in good condition and nicely furnished. Worst thing about this unit - the bedroom with the 2 twin beds has one window which is painted black and doesn’t open more than a few inches. Though if it did open, it would be onto a dank interior breezeway just like the rest of the units in this building that I saw. Our building did have an elevator and our unit had a very partial ocean view but stay on the north side of this building if you want a nicer view. We didn’t use the pool, mostly because the pool rules are so strict and we had kids with us. The office staff was largely unhelpful both before and during our stay, and a guest of ours had a less than positive interaction with one of the gatehouse staff. The beach is clean and easy to access from the parking lot. Overall this place has a great location in terms of ease of access and proximity to bars/restaurants/grocery stores/downtown but be careful which unit you rent depending on how particular you are. If you need clear bedroom windows that open all the way, make sure you verify that before you book which is the only way I could see myself possibly renting here again. …
For the most part, we enjoyed our stay at the St. Augustine resort and racquet club. The problem I had was in getting back our $200 security deposit. There was absolutely no reason our deposit should not be refunded. We left the unit the way we found it. After a month, and 3 phone calls inquiring why the deposit had not been refunded, I got no where. The response was always, "we'll look into it and call you back." All three times I never got a call back, and never received the refund of the deposit. I would think twice about booking at this property. Very unresponsive and incompetent administrative staff.
We had a multitude of issues with this stay. I am wondering where I should start and who I should talk to. The door would not open, took two calls to get in. The thermostat was on 60 degrees and we all woke up at 2:00 am freezing. We left a day early upon finding cock roaches in the baby's bed. The kitchen was totally INFESTED with them and we lost close to $100+ of food overrun with roaches. The pictures are not representative of the place, it being very cavelike and dark, not bright and welcoming. It was in need of serious maintenance with torn screens flapping in the wind, gates laying broken on the ground, trash in the unkempt lawn areas, missing and rotted safety rails on the upper decks, tv's that did not work correctly, general uncleanliness. The kitchen counters were NOT clean requiring us to clean everything we touched, dirty dishes in cupboards-dirty pans in the cupboards, we had to clean the whole kitchen, the bathrooms however were clean. There were other issues as well. I do not feel we should be paying any cleaning fee, we should be refunded at least a day or two of the stay, our pet did not come and we requested a refund of that deposit. I have not left a public review of this place, and will wait to hear how you respond to these very serious issues before I publically review. This was to be a reunion of cousins and family that haven't seen each other in 10 years. We are very upset, and are not people that normally complain. But this was truly not a good experience." This was a last minute booking. It was nice to find a place that allowed me to do that specially on a Holiday weekend. It was our sons birthday and we wanted to go to the beach. We got there at midnight, so after a long driving we just wanted to sleep. The guard was Very efficient and nice, he gave us our keys and provided with some information about the complex (which was very quick). Our unit was on the first floor but I noticed there were no elevators. So keep the in mind if you want to book on the second or third floor. The unit was clean but smelly (they need air fresheners). Master bedroom was fine, good mattress, tv is small but we weren’t there to watch tv anyways. As I mentioned before, we were there for our sons birthday (he’s height is 5’8 weights 133) Second bedroom has two tiny twin beds, it was very uncomfortable for him to sleep in one of the tiny beds. They need to be replace ASAP. The bathrooms smelled like pee. I had to go buy air fresheners and Mr. clean to get rid of the smell (which only worked when I poured half of the bottle into the commode. It was very frustrating, please do a better job when cleaning the bathrooms. Bring your own hand soap. They gave us tiny bar Hand soap (the ones you get when staying at a hotel). Kitchen is well equipped even though we did not use anything from there. But if you do use it bring/buy your own dish soap. Nice dining table. Living area is not bad. The sofa had some stains and needs to be clean. The television in the living area is pretty big. WiFi excellent. I was reading the rules and I noticed that in one part said “not smoking allow in premises” our neighbors were smoking 24/7 so how was the possible? Very accessible to The beach, it was five minutes away from our unit (walking distance). Overall the unit was fine they just need to do a better job when it comes to cleaning and the tiny beds on the second bedroom.…
After driving 8 hours we arrived at their unit on June 18th at 1015pm, and the condo was not cleaned. My wife, my two daughters who are 8 years old, and myself had nowhere to stay. We were unable to reach anybody after hours, and they did not respond to messages. We had difficulty finding a hotel room on a Friday night at 11pm, but eventually found one for $600 at The Holiday Inn inside Old Town. The next day we finally connected with Beth, who is the Manager of the St Augustine region. She was terrible with her response to our inconvenience from their scheduling errors and follow through. She agreed to refund our hotel and credit us 1 night after she suggested we check out for a full refund. I had also asked for an additional night and the cleaning fee. We were told cleaners were on the way, and we could drop our stuff off, which we opted not to do in order to not interfere with the cleaning crew. We arrived at the unit at 345, and it had only been partially cleaned. We reached out to Beth again, and she promised to send the crew back. We left for few hours to finally get to the beach. When we returned at 730 our unit was still not completed. I took phots and sent them to Beth. She apologized, and agreed to add an additional night of credit, and I asked for the cleaning fee to be refunded, since I had to complete the cleaning. The unit was gross. She said ok, and I thanked her and my family tried to enjoy our vacation. We spent most of our time at the place my brother rented down the street, because our unit was never fully cleaned. On Saturday the 26th I sent Beth my hotel receipt, and she responded by telling me she only agreed to $400 for my hotel stay and 2 nights of credit. So I paid full price for a cleaning than never happened, and I had to come out of pocket $200 for a hotel room i had to rent in order to have a place to sleep on our first night. When I returned back home I made several calls to Teeming VR, and never had anybody follow up about my concerns. I told them all I was going to write reviews if my situation was not handled appropriately, and after almost 2 weeks with still not response from Teeming VR I am writing my reviews. According to everyone I spoke with I could not go above the person Beth who mismanaged my situation from the very beginning. The inconvenience factor was never even addressed let alone just refunding the money I had to pay for their errors. Everything in the unit was cheap. TVs were the size of computer monitors, the appliances were low level, and there were zero supplies in the unit to get us started for the week. I highly recommend another place to find rentals. Their lack of customer service was astounding. You can see from the other reviews they are not good at cleaning and monitoring their properties.…
Our two weeks in unit 2201 was great for a family. The beach was a 5 minute walk from parking lot and across private walkway. The beach itself was so large it was like having a private one. The swimming pool was a one minute walk. Our unit was nicely appointed 2BR/2Bath. Modern kitchen appliances and laundry. Nice TVs in master and family area. I might suggest a ceiling fan and tv for second bedroom. Otherwise, we enjoyed it very much. Location was ideal for groceries and restaurants. Everything was just 5-10 minute drive. Also, it was easy to get to all the attractions in the old part of town in about 20 minutes. Security seemed to always be around. All in all, it was a great place for a family.
