The Inn at camachee harbor offered a beautiful room with a private deck overlooking the harbor! It was a very relaxing place to stay and the roof over the deck made it very pleasant even in the rain! I highly recommend the Inn!!!
Amazingly surprised of our room..decor was fun, furniture very comfortable Views are beautiful & having a good restaurant within walking distance is always a plus! The road in front seemed to be a bit loud, but once inside our room, we could barely hear it I would recommend anyone to stay here for a relaxing vacay
We really enjoyed our stay at Camachee Harbor Inn. The view of the harbor from our balcony was beautiful both during the day and at night. The staff was very nice and the room was clean and nicely furnished. And best of all, they were so welcoming to our little pup. We did not use the pool, but it looked very nice.
Very relaxing, easily accessible place to base out of for a vacation and take in all that St. Augustine has to offer. The Kingfish restaurant food was terrific also! The facilities were in good shape with laundry, pool and staying near the marina was fun too sitting on a deck and watching boats come and go. Lots of fun staying here.
We stayed at The Inn at Camachee Harbor for 3 nights. The inside of unit 17 was really nice, clean and the beds were real comfortable. Our dog loved it as well. Happy some of their rooms are pet friendly. Madge at the front desk was friendly and informative. There are a few restaurants within walking distance of the property. would visit again if we are ever in the area for vacation.
Great location just off the Villano Bridge and next to Kingfish Grill and in marina. Had a second floor unit beware of the stairs you have to climb, The unit was clean but the furniture is very old the couch needs to be replaced and could use new mattress. The A/C very noisy for the price there are lots of better places to stay at in St Augustine
Each room at Camachee are individually owned so each room will give you a different experience. It is important that when you write a review you include the unit number you stayed in. I own a unit at Camachee so it would inappropriate for me to review my own unit. Just remember when writing a review include the unit #.
We reserved this for our 32nd anniversary and I was extremely pleased with the room. We stayed in room 10. The first night our air conditioner was not working so I went and reported it the next morning and it was fixed by the time we returned that afternoon as well as we received a phone message that a repairman had been contacted. I would have been happy just staying on the balcony our whole time but my husband wanted to go out and explore. I saw several types of birds and even a turtle. The fish were jumping also. Very nice neighborhood and the pictures of the room are accurate.
I thought I did my due diligence in researching the place and reading the reviews, but I guess if you're used to living in a landlocked area and desperate just to be near water, then any place, including this one will suffice. Firstly, the pictures on the website of the room I booked are either old or photoshopped, but definitely they aren't a true reflection of what I met. Firstly, I opened the front door from the main hallway/passageway and stepped directly into the bedroom. If you look at pics of any room where the front door is not a part of the picture, there's a great chance it's a room like this one. There was no buffer entryway or anything of the sort. The bed was about 3 ft away from the door, and the entire bed was visible, even if the door was slightly ajar, to anyone walking along the hallway. The electrical and cable plates were smaller than the holes to contain them, throughout the suite. The floor had white specks throughout (more on this below), and first impression was that the suite wasn't swept/mopped. The furniture was aged, and the single armchair's cushions were stained with red spots. I had to sun out the sofa and armchair cushions in an effort to feel somewhat clean. There was sagging paint on the wall in the bathroom that may be indicative of a leak. The decks (there were two), one off the bedroom and the other off of the living room had not been cleaned and were full of mold (the establishment's website pics show pristine, clean decks). If I had to guess, to capitalize on the view, I think they switched around the layout because the bedroom was at the front door while the living room faces the harbor. So, the bedroom faces the busy road and bridge and you can hear the traffic all day and night. Directly underneath the a/c intake were piles of white dust, that after a while would spread around suite's floor (as mentioned earlier). At first, I couldn't tell what it was but wiped it up. It appeared again and again no matter how much wiping up I did. After a while, I realized that it was the "knock down" texture on the ceiling that was coming down every time the a/c turned on. The ceiling around the intake was damp. Looks like there was a leak. I'm hard-pressed to believe that this happened suddenly. The white piles of powder were on floor when I walked in for the first time. The cleaning crew (if there was one) would have seen the piles of white powder. I was supposed to stay for week, but I ended up leaving the next day. When I told the staff about the issues, they just muttered "ok". That was it. No, "Sorry for your experience", "How can we right this?", "We will issue a partial refund", nothing. I haven't even mentioned the unkempt state of the surroundings, the faded sign, etc. I should have known what I in for just by looking at the state of the grounds. Never, ever, ever again.…
This was our second stay at the Inn. Sheila is a great host with a great personality. Our room had a great view of the harbor and was just a short bicycle ride to the old downtown, which we rode often. The Kingfish Grill, located next door and on the water is a great place to eat some great seafood, sushi, sandwiches and all the other items a good restaurant offers. There is also a really nice cafe in front for breakfast items, coffee and such. The room was clean and comfortable, what else could you ask for! Hopefully we'll be back soon!!
