An absolute gem of an inn. Our accomodation was booked through a road trip company and they couldn't have picked anywhere better. The welcome is warm, the inn itself is full of so much character and the breakfast was so tasty. We were given a tour by Patrick when we arrived and shown the lovely outside areas, pool and bikes that are free to borrow. There are so many extras included with the stay....coffees, sodas, cookies, social hour with wine and snacks and an evening dessert. Wow!! The location is perfect. It's a lovely walk into the pedestrianized area with so many shops and restaurants. Once you're done with the hustle and bustle you can stroll back to the quiet little street that the inn is on. We also made use of the free passes to St Augustine lighthouse. Highly recommend using the bikes to cycle there, it's a nice easy ride and a great way to see some more of the area. From the moment you walk through the door there is a sense of 'being looked after'. A lovely experience and we are so pleased we got to stay here. Ever hopeful that we will one day be able to return.

If you're looking for a modern sleek hotel with the latest amenities this is not the place for you. However, if you want to stay in a place that makes you feel like you're part of old St. Augustine, this is the place. The original building was from 1791 and located near the oldest home in St. Augustine. It is in a beautiful neighborhood within walking distance of downtown. The staff was so helpful and kind. The morning breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Drinks are available throughout the day, with a cocktail hour and dessert hour in the evening. While we could not attend the evening events, we had delicious desserts waiting for us when we returned. We stayed in Margaret's Room which was a private king room with its own porch and outdoor patio area. It was quiet, and the landscape was truly old Florida with Spanish Moss and lots of small lizards scurrying about. The small pool was lovely and intimate. When we left, we felt like we were leaving friends. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will be back.

My husband & I stayed there three nights with another couple while visiting St. Augustine for the Players Championship. It was a wonderful experience. The B&B is quite old with charming architecture and antique furnishings. It’s in the quiet, residential end of St. George St., about five blocks from the bustling pedestrian mall section, which turned out to be a great location. Restaurants & stores were easily within walking distance but the inn was quiet. Our room (the Balcony Room on the second floor) was large with a nice sitting area, comfortable bed, small toilet area, and jacuzzi tub in the main room (like many old houses retrofitted as an inn). I had two complaints with the room. The minor one is that the air conditioner was a bit sluggish - it didn’t quite get the humidity out of the room, but we weren’t uncomfortable. I was more disappointed with the shower. The shower nozzle has a serious flow restrictor in it to the extent that you can’t even get wet enough to stay warm or rinse your hair quickly. It wasn’t pleasant; perhaps they’ll address that. The room had a nice wraparound private balcony with chairs; there is also a common area balcony on the other side of the building. For the record, our friends were staying in the Garden Hideaway (a separate building in back by the pool) and they had a shower separate from the tub; they said the water flow in their shower was fine. Patrick and his family go out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. First of all, the included breakfasts are excellent with two hot choices and multiple cold side dishes served buffet-style. In addition, there’s a complimentary happy hour nightly, complimentary desserts put out every evening, and complimentary bottles of water and soda available all day for the asking. Everyone at the front desk were friendly and helpful. It really was great hospitality.

We loved this place. They couldn’t have been more welcoming and they really think of everything for the comfort and delight of guests. Our room and bathroom were spacious, comfortable, and quiet. We had a great time chatting with other guests in the lovely garden during cocktail hour—complimentary wine and appetizers. Also delicious breakfasts. They even give you a crystal decanter and glasses. You can fill the decanter with cream sherry gratis. The inn has a long and fascinating history. We’ll definitely stay there again if we’re in St Augustine.

We arrived in St. Augustine late Sunday evening, to find the rooms we had booked elsewhere unsatisfactory. Hoping to find a place to sleep for 2 couples at short notice, we called the St. Francis Inn. Lucky for us, they had the Cottage room available: a 2 bedroom/2 bath apartment with full kitchen and living room, which cost less than 2 individual rooms. The manager, Patrick, was delightful and welcoming, making sure we knew about all of the Inn’s amenities and perks (freshly baked pastries and cookies in afternoon and evening, barista coffee service, happy hour and complimentary cream sherry decanter fills, s’mores by the fire pit, full breakfast, bicycles and pool). The Inn and surrounding grounds are historic and well-maintained, located in old town and within walking distance of all of St. Augustine’s sights and attractions. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating. We were also impressed to see several hearing impaired staff and guests. Our 2 night stay was one of the best parts of our cross Florida road trip. We would surely come back to the St. Francis Inn.

The inn, the room, the service, the staff and the attention to detail is just amazing. We felt so incredibly pampered and spoiled. The inn is charming and so inviting, the room had everything needed and more, the service was attentive and kind, the staff were all so knowledgeable and helpful, everything was perfect. The bed was probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, I truly did not want to leave.

Dear E8066Mlisas, So happy to hear that you enjoyed the Inn and felt "spoiled" while you were here. Of course, that is our goal and the staff works hard to make sure guests feel this way. Happy to hear that you found the bed comfortable; as its always tricky to find mattresses and frames that satisfy everyone. I hope we'll see you again in the not too distant future!

20 years later & it is still so welcoming & comfortable. We stayed in the Balcony Room for our honeymoon in ‘04 and have experienced other rooms, most recently the Garcia Suite for our daughter’s 16th birthday… long story short, come & stay! You’ll have a great time!

I just wanted to brag about St. Francis Inn. My husband and I just had our wedding at the Inn 1/6/24. It was a beautiful day and a wonderful experience. Make sure you speak to Mary if you are looking for a quaint wedding venue or a beautiful place to elope. My daughter and I spent the day getting our hair and makeup done in one of the rooms. We stayed in Lily’s room, but we love this place so we have stayed at nearly all the rooms. The Cottage is our favorite. The breakfast and happy hour are great! Just remember that if you are out on the town for dinner you remind them to hold your dessert for when you get back. ♥️

My girlfriend and I had the pleasure to stay at the St. Francis B&B in Maries room December 1st through the 3rd. Nestled on the peaceful rim of the historical district you are in walking distance of all the shops, restaurants, entertainment and the Castillo de San Marcos fort. All of the staff is incredibly friendly and always willing to lead you in the right direction for fun. And their breakfasts options! While I was there they offered a multitude of breakfast options from authentic spanish dishes down to a bowl of cereal if you want something simple. But their french toast was something else. Like a french toast deep dish casserole. Amazing! And the icing on the cake, all guest are offered load of complimentary amerities like, free parking in their private lot, a discount rate into the oldest house exibit. Free entry into St. Augustine lighthouse and 5-6pm social hour were they offer their guests a variety of free drinks. If you are planning a visit to St. Augustine I highly recommend spending a few nights at the St. Francis B&B.
