The Kenwood Inn garners acclaim for its delectable three-course breakfasts and the serenity of its private balconies, according to guests. While the rooms win praise for their unique charm and spotlessness, some visitors have mentioned variations in room sizes and potential noise.
Nestled on a tranquil street, yet a stone's throw from the historic district's allure, the inn's location is lauded for its convenience. Despite occasional service hiccups, the staff's warmth and the inn's inviting atmosphere contribute to its high value and overall cleanliness commendations.

Property's Favorite Review
We had a great stay at the Kenwood Inn. Everything about the Kenwood met or exceeded our expectations. Our suite, the Bridge Suite, was very comfortable, with a separate living room so I didn't wake my wife up when I had to check in with my office on Guam in the middle of the night Florida time. The shower with multiple shower heads was very relaxing. The breakfasts were delicious and creative. The neighborhood was quiet, but easy walking distance to the parking lot, the trolley tour stop, and restaurants. The swimming pool was a welcome touch which I took advantage of three times a day to cool off from the Florida heat. The staff was very helpful at all times, but especially when delays at the rental car company at the JAX airport resulted in our late arrival. We certainly hope to return to the Kenwood Inn.

We are so happy we exceeded your expectations. Your thoughtful comments will be shared with the staff - thank you. I also love the Bridge Suite for the exact reasons you mentioned. It provides such great comfortable space and separate rooms for business calls, tv watching, or just because one of the guests does not need to watch another football game LOL. Safe travels. We hope to have you back again.

Pat is an amazing host and her inn is beyond beautiful. Each room has been decorated to match a theme or need. The breakfasts are incredibly delicious. We have been to B&Bs in other cities and they have disappointed us every time since we have received such impeccable treatment at the Kenwood. The salt water pool is refreshing. The inn is within walking distance to many restaurants and a trolley stop yet far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. Her staff is friendly and helpful. Her knowledge and enthusiasm of the area is contagious.

Thank you so much for enjoying your early summer vacation with us! We are thrilled the city is opening up more and it is great to have wonderful guests like you here at the Kenwood Inn and around the city ... while appropriately SDing. Thank you also for your kind comments which I will pass onto our staff. We look forward to having you back soon. In the meantime, stay well and see you soon.

+1
We stayed in room 8, the blue porcelain room. The room was located on the second floor with direct access through french doors located in the room to a wrap around porch. The porch is shared with room 7 and 9. The room was exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated. The bathroom looked as it was recently renovated, it featured a large walk in shower with a rain shower head along with body jets. Pat, the inn keeper was very welcoming when we arrived. She went above and beyond to make sure the Inn was fully sanitized and clean during this pandemic. Since social hour was canceled due to social distancing, she gave us a bottle of wine for our room. The breakfast each morning was served on the back covered porch. The food was amazing and the service was great. We truly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to go back.

Thank you Lindsey for your thoughtful comments and review. We really appreciate and value your recognition of our efforts to keep you safe and comfortable. I also love the Blue Porcelain room particularly now that we added the queen sleeper couch for extra seating (and sleeping). I wish we still had our wine social as it is such a great way for our guests to meet and visit with each other but I am happy you enjoyed a glass of wine in your room. Please stay well and plan on visiting us again. All the best, Pat and Kenwood team :)

Property is clean inside and out, nice salt water pool with a Koi Pond. Clean pool towels for guests.
Gardens are nicely kept.
Owner has 2 large dogs trained, on property which is not a problem to guests.
There is a Pantry on the first floor for guests.
A Keurig coffee machine Frig, freezer upon request, and ice machine with a UV light. At the time I was there, hand sanitizer was almost empty, and no disinfectant sanitizer wipes; or paper towels on the counter. Feel this is imperative with multiple people sharing a small area with Covid or no Covid, Cross contamination as it's best.
I recommend if you have young children to arrange a room on the first floor, as this is a B&B older home with charm, but the stairs are steep.
Did not get the room we reserved on the 1st floor. Room I was given was on the 2nd floor. Had a major shower issue with a faulty glass door installation. Resulted in me mopping up a lot of water for 2 days. This is not what we paid for on vacation.
Was disappointed as we had a lot of baby equipment to carry upstairs. Also felt it was a strong liability.
I was polity asked if I had any food preference or allergies. I mentioned I don't eat gluten.
Sunday breakfast didn't seem to accommodate my request. Nor was I offered a substitute. We booked the room for 2 guests, my grandson has good apatite even though he is a toddler, was not offered a 2nd breakfast for him. Had to request another half order of breakfast for myself.
No parking on property which is pretty much the norm for a B&B.

Response from Pat Dobosz, Owner at The Kenwood Inn
Responded Aug 18, 2020
Thank you for your thoughtful comments and for taking the time to share your experience. I am so sorry we did not exceed your expectations which is always our goal. I unfortunately made the mistake of upgrading you to a slightly larger second-floor room with carpeting thinking that would be a better option for you with a toddler. As originally arranged, we had a pack 'n play in your room to avoid having you or your daughter bring one. Our staff was here when you checked in and checked out and was available to assist with the baby equipment. We were happy you used the area by our front door for the stroller. While our building is historic, our staircase is built to modern code as required by the state and inspected by our insurance company. It is not steeper than any staircase in a similar new building. There are four wall-mounted hand-sanitizer dispensers positioned on the way to your guest room plus numerous cans of a disinfection spray for anyone’s use while at the inn. There is also a wall-mounted hand-sanitizer dispenser immediately outside of the guest pantry with a sign asking all guests to use this prior to and after leaving this area. There is also a can of spray disinfectant in the guest pantry and there are always paper towels. These are full now as they were when you stayed with us. Our first-floor guest bathroom, located by the pantry, has antibacterial hand soap and paper napkins as well. The pantry is cleaned numerous times throughout the days as is all of our common space. We make tremendous efforts to assure our guests’ safety and comfort. Matter-a-fact, we were the first B&B in the state of Florida to receive the Seal of Commitment by the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association for our cleaning and safety procedures plus our staff training specific to Covid. I am so sorry, you felt we lacked in this area. The breakfast provide was gluten-free with the exception of the pastry. As you brought food for your grandson, we were unaware you wanted an additional breakfast which we provided without hesitation as we do for all of our guests requesting additional food, special meals, or alternative options. I apologize again, you felt we failed you. I am so sorry, the glass door enclosure to your shower was an issue. I wish we had known as we could have corrected it or moved you to a different room. Again, thank you for taking the time to write. I sincerely hope you will give us another opportunity to enjoy a stay for yourself.

From Pat’s quick and warm correspondance during booking and a very easy, informative and kind check-in to delicious breakfasts and a perfectly clean and comfortable room, we can’t say enough great things about Pat, her team and the Kenwood Inn. The location is ideal as you’re within walking distance of the historic downtown as well as the many great restaurants, museums, historic buildings and the beach. Beautiful pool area to cool off on a warm afternoon and lovely, lush surroundings for breakfast or just to read in the afternoon or evening. They really know how to be extremely hospitable, without being overwhelming. If you want to come and go without really seeing anyone, you can do that. If you want to interact on a more intimate level with the staff, you can do that as well. STAY HERE!!

We were a part of two and stayed here for 4 days. If you're looking for historical, charming but with, modern conveniences, first class service and a staff that makes you feel like one of the family, then this is the place for you.
We stayed in the Bridge Suite on the first floor and loved hearing the occasional horse-drawn carriage clopping past. We loved the layout of this suite as there was a separate sitting room (where my husband could get up in the middle of the night to read without disturbing me in the other room. Also like the way the shower is on one side of the pass-through hallway and the commode was across from it. That way, we were able to get ready in the morning at the same time. And three shower heads in the shower!!!!! Loved it.
This room was furnished with tons of lighting choices, tray ceilings and fans, luxurious linens and amenities and the king bed was unbelievably comfortable. A/C was perfect.
The breakfast, served outside on the veranda overlooking the courtyard, koi pond and lush vegetation, was actually gourmet, prepared by Susan and Stephanie. Crepes, fruit shots, fresh OJ and plenty of coffee. Loved the waffles and fresh fruit parfaits. All very artistically prepared and served up by one of the friendliest, sweetest people we've encountered in our travels to date. Thank you Keisha (apologies if I spelled it wrong). You are truly an asset to the Kenwood Inn.
Mandi pretty much organizes the experience from start to finish, providing all the booking information, answering questions, filling special requests and making sure we were wanting for nothing. Hardworking, friendly, professional people here going above and beyond to ensure that we had the very best stay possible.
We liked the downtown location in the Historic District because it was easy walking distance to nearly everything plus we were able to pick up the trolley just around the corner at the oldest house.
We would certainly stay here again should we travel back that way again in the future.

We just got home from our 3 night stay at The Kenwood Inn. We stayed in Caitlin's rooms since it was the 4 of us (2 adults, 2 kids ages 7 and 10) as well as our English bulldog. This was the perfect room for us since we could be separated from the kids at night and also had a door right out to the porch and courtyard so I could literally roll out of bed and go to breakfast in the morning. The property is beautiful and very well maintained and the kids loved the pool. The location is is right in the historic district and it is an easy walk to all the main sites, the marina and a few trolley stops. We loved that is was a pet friendly property so our pup could hang out with us at breakfast every morning. The owner Pat even has 2 sweet dogs that live on the property.
The breakfasts were amazing and better than what we could get at any of the local restaurants! Even my son who is a very picky eater said it was the best breakfast he ever had!
Pat was so welcoming and treated us like family. We can't wait to bring the rest of our family back to stay at The Kenwood Inn in the future!

Thank you for your kind words and puppy training collar advise for my daughter (my grand-dog owner LOL). Puppy Penny was delightful and an absolute reflection on what a great family you are particularly the kids. I'm so happy Caitlin's Room worked out so well. It is a great room for our visiting families. We are thrilled to have had the pleasure of you staying with us. The Kenwood team all send their love and hope to see you soon.

My husband and I visited in early August 2019. We stayed for 4 nights. Pat and her staff were wonderful hosts. We had booked a smaller room but upon arrival were upgraded to a bigger room with balcony (we were given a choice of rooms!). We had privacy but also did some socializing with guests at happy hour. We used the bikes, beach umbrella and beach towels to cycle to the beach. We relaxed by the pool. We used the fridge to store some snacks and drinks. And there were complementary drinks and desserts available too. Parking was very close which was important as we went golfing a couple of times. It was our first trip to Jacksonville and we would love to go back. When we return we will definitely stay here again!

The day after Christmas my husband and I arrived at our favorite bed and breakfast, the Kenwood Inn and felt like we’d come home for the holidays! Pat and her fantastic staff were so welcoming the minute we walked in the door! Although the weather left a lot to be desired and the streets of St. Augustine were overflowing with holiday tourists, we were able to relax and restore our spirits in the comfort of our wonderful room. The breakfasts are always amazing (this is my fourth stay there) and if you let them know of dietary restrictions they are most accommodating. Evenings were enjoyably spent in the comfortable living room, chatting with other guests from around the country and one evening even being entertained on the piano by a talented young guest. I have stayed at the Kenwood Inn through all 4 seasons and have felt well-cared for each and every time. I am looking forward to my next trip “home”~

There is something to be said about being "Home for the Holidays." We cherish the moments our guests come back over and over again. This past Christmas and through New Years over 70% of the guests staying with us, and like you, have stayed numerous times. For us, it's family walking through the front door, and it's a very special feeling. We wish you the best in the new year and can't wait to see you for all the seasons to come!

Great stay at a nice inn in a great city! Out of the way on a side street that’s on the route of the horse/buggy sightseeing tours
(we heard the klipp-klopp throughout the evening as they passed by our room). Our room was typically B&B smallish, however, the two rooms were furnished with TVs, sofas and a very comfy king-size bed. Still decorated for Christmas, the public areas are quite quaint and homey and an idyllic setting to enjoy a complementary glass of wine or slice of chocolate cake. And speaking of eats, the three-course breakfast was phenomenal and included black cherry rum smoothies, strawberry/creme parfaits, asparagus stuffed crepes with mushroom sauce and pound cake.
Our engaging host, Pat, provided great service, and suggestions for dinner and local attractions were appreciated. See other reviews for other property amenities; we spent our time dining out and checking viewing the sights, including the festively illuminated Flagler College and adjacent park.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write. We're thrilled you enjoyed your stay with us and especially liked our breakfasts. We are always looking for new breakfast items but our smoothies are tried and true :) Our Christmas decorations are the process of coming down. The inn will feel a little naked for the next few days but will start to think about spring and what we can add to make everything special for our next guests. We're so glad you the culinary options in the city. There are so many which means you'll just have to come back for another visit. All the best and hope to see you soon!

No, there is no elevator and likely never will be due to the inn being registered as a historical site; walking tour guides pass by the inn at night. There are rooms on the ground floor.
Greetings! We do not serve Thanksgiving dinner however, there are a few places around town that do! We would be happy to make reservations for Thanksgiving dinner if you are staying with us. Hope this helps.
Best,
Pat Dobosz, Inn Owner
All of our ghosts are friendly and as curious as you are!
Our rooms best for small dogs that need to go directly outside would be The Old English Suite.
Mondays are just as open as all other weekdays but all of the sole proprietors in town keel their own hours based on business activity each day. St. George St. shops and restaurants are open until 8pm most every night of the week.
Hope that helps!!
Best,
Pat
All old cities and Inns have ghost stories. We have some rooms that some of our guests say they have had friendly ghost experiences...rooms 7,8,9,10 for example.
Our guests who want to have an "experience" sometimes do and if you do not want to... you will not.... its all good here at The Kenwood Inn
