We were in town to visit friends and spend some time checking out some of the local places in the area. Enjoyed visiting the roadside Veterans Memorial and sculpture garden, driving through St. Augustine Beach with stops at the Pier and parked at Butler Beach for walk along the beach. Washington Oaks Park was within driving distance so we visited and walked along the waterway and through the beautiful rose gardens. Stopped and walked the nature trail (raised boardwalk) at Fort Matanzas and enjoyed speaking to the Ranger and seeing the "fort" from a distance. The ferry requires a free pass needed for boat ride to the Fort but it doesn't run on Mon/Tues. We knew in advance but enjoyed walking around. There us much to do and see in the historic area and elsewhere and LaQuinta is a prime location and nice place to stay.…
Listen to the other reviews!! The room had roaches, smelled of mildew, and the fridge was broken. When I called down to the front desk I was told nothing could be done and they couldn’t move my room. I checked out without staying the night and am still being charged for a full night. I received an email from the manager that I almost mistook as spam and was offered a 15% discount, which is unacceptable when I didn’t stay the night. There’s plenty of other hotels in the area that I’m sure are a lot better than this one.
We stayed here last night. At first we didn’t think it was too bad, just a standard hotel room. We went out and about and came back (it was late) and noticed all the things. Our mattress is split down one side, we brought drinks back to put in the mini fridge- it had old food left in it. Mexican we believe. Spouse wouldn’t let me change rooms at this point. We slept through the night and it was fine. He went to the bathroom this morning and stepped in what he thinks was a black bean from those lovely leftovers. The shower curtain is covered in black mold. I can’t wait to get out of here and never come back.
The hotel is pretty small but that’s fine. Everything was fine in our room as far as I could tell. It was only for a night so didn’t matter much for us. Didn’t do any breakfast since we knew they wouldn’t have options for us. But over all, no complaints and it’s pretty quiet there.
This hotel as in several other La Quintas is like "Putting Lipstick on a Pig". It is still a pig. A coat of sloppily applied paint and 30" TV where the bracket on the wall was for a 55" TV. Will not stay there or at any other La Quinta.
I was chared $40 for a service animal that was clearly marked as such at check in. I stayed for 2 nights and informed the hotel the next day when I seen the charge on my credit card. Hotel refised to refund the charge for a service animal saying I did not tell thenm it was a sevice animal. M y dog was wearing a sevice animal vest at checkin.
We were pleased with our stay at this hotel . We were on our way to go to Florida We enjoyed it after being on the road for 11 hours . We had our dog. With us and we were well welcome by the employees .

would not recommend this location to anyone traveling to St. Augustine. it is a pet friendly hotel but was not adviced of it before making reservations. The help was pleasant, pool was cold shuttle to town was great
We found this hotel on our trip to Ft. Pierce and were pleased by the cleanliness, professional staff and convenient location. Pet friendly, offering a nice breakfast our overnight stay was refreshing here.
