Only had a couple days off so headed here for a little r & r. Relaxing, pretty quiet. Stayed in the 2 bedroom with the private pool. Very clean and lots of space. Well pleased. Did not come to fish but was a great option based on distance and allowing to bring our 2 relaxed doggies.

Made a reservation through Expedia. Expedia takes a credit card at time of reservation to hold the reservation. Pirate's Pointe ended up charging me for a nights stay and then, after we cancelled well within the stated date on Expedia, Pirate's Pointe refused to refund the money. To be fair I think they have their property listed on several sites... More

Thank you for your review. However, some of the information is not exactly correct. I never received a letter from Expedia saying, the charges were incorrect. Honestly just the opposite. They sent me a confirmation with the "Cancellation and the Amount to be Charged", per policy guidelines. I'm not sure what you received as I know I sent you nothing.... More

Didn't come to fish, just to catch up with an old friend and relax. Lived in Florida years ago and enjoyed the South Florida--Keys environment and have missed it on subsequent visits to Orlando area. The landscaping and crushed shell driveways of Pirate's Pointe added to the feeling of being in nature, away from the pavement and gridlock of modern... More

We have been 2 times this year, this weekend will be our 3rd. It is relaxing, right on the water, wonderful clean facilities and awesome fishing!! Even if you don't have a boat its great to sit on the dock and fish from there. It definitely will be our home away from home!

If you like to fish and be on the water this is the place to go. Snuggled amidst fabulous landscaping with an old Florida feel. The accommodations are all massive and comfortable. The pool area is outstanding and the people are friendly and the owners Tammy and Tom are the best. As for the fishing we caught every species on... More

We spent 4 days here on a recent visit to Ruskin. The close proximity to our son and his family made it a perfect spot. The cottage was very comfortable and quiet. The grounds are beautiful and the pool area was very nice! There is a nice dock area. The new management still has some things to improve on (tried... More

Spent 4 wonderful days here, really don't want to leave. If you want a peaceful low key out of the way spot , then this is the place for you. Beautiful grounds, rooms clean, everything needed in them, even a resident cat who wants to be petted. Short drive to Tampa or Sarasota. I just can't find the right words... More

Under new management so not that same as in the past. I stayed here before and enjoyed my stay. The previous owner made it a pleasant stay! New management was no where to be found many days. So if you had needs you just had to handle it yourself. I saw other guest helping potential customers with information about rooms... More

I apologize for our absences as we were in the transition of selling our house in Lakeland and moving to Ruskin, to run Pirate's Pointe Resort. The previous owner assured us our guests would be taken care of and he would be on property to make sure that happened. We also have a receptionist working 8:30-12:00 and housekeeper daily. It... We go here all the time. We love it. It is a very peaceful and quiet resort. Nice for a relaxing weekend by the water. We like the private pool option. Always very clean & plenty of cookware for staying in.

We absolutely love this little cottage-filled resort. If you are visiting the Tampa Bay area, Ruskin is a great home base for points north and south. We have stayed here several times and it feels like home, just beachy enough to be comfortable and impeccably clean. Our latest visit yielded rainy weather, but we still had a super stay. My teens...
