Ruskin has very limited offerings when it comes to vacation stays. Pirates's Point is by far the most quaint and clean. The fishing cottages are a family favorite for us. We visited recently and stayed in a studio. We have stayed in a one bedroom and three bedroom unit it the

KIt, there are several Charters out of Pirates Pointe. Anyone on staff there when you show or call can give you whatever info you need on them. I was unable to give the specifics on this thread due to the guidelines. I hope this helps out........ Enjoy your stay at Pirates Pointe, you will NOT regret it

Yes its has been sold so it's under new management. They have tried hard but it definitely is not the same but that's my opinion. There were things that I was not impressed with and others things I wasn't so happy about. It still is a beautiful setting and very quiet. This is my honest opinion.

This resort is not on the beach. It is technically on the Little Manatee River, about a half mile from Tampa Bay. There is a bayside beach in the town of Ruskin at EG Simmons Park and a private one that you can access if you are careful at Little Harbor but neither is the beach you are dreaming of...to get to those (white sands, blue water, waves and shells) you would need to travel south to Bradenton/Anna Maria Island or across the Sunshine Skyway to St. Petersburg. Both are about 40 minutes away. Pirates Point is a great hub if you want to do things in Tampa, Bradenton, St. Petersburg and even Orlando (about an hour plus). Ruskin is not a vacation destination for most, but this Pirates Point is by far the best we have stayed at in the Ruskin area. If you like to fish the bay, it is a great launching point. It is an unlikely location, but once you pull through the gates you will love it.
