Great time as the owners made you feel like family. Our first venture out since Covid19 and our time at this home was wonderful. Richard is so full of knowledge of the historic city Quincy Fl. and of course the beautiful home him & his family have restored. Will visit again in the near future.
My boyfriend and I spent a staycation at the McFarlin House. Everything was excellent - from the hospitality to the food. Our welcome was seamless and warm, the room was so classically "southern colonial," and the breakfast was amazing. Richard and Tina are amazing hosts and we would definitely stay here again!
Richard the Inn Keeper was AMAZING!! We stayed here on our way to Key West the end of February and now on our way back to Houston In the midst of the Coronavirus mess, he assured us no one had slept in our room for 2 weeks and it had been thoroughly cleaned! What a relief! He gave us a breakfast to go so we could get on the road by 7am. He is the best!!!
My husband and I recently had a lovely one-night stay at McFarlin House. Richard greeted us and showed us to "Pink Magnolias" (the turret room on the third floor) which does indeed overlook a magnificent magnolia tree which just happened to be in full bloom. Our room was very comfortable and private and we enjoyed exploring this beautiful house. In the morning Richard served us a delicious breakfast as he regaled his guests with the history of McFarlin House. We hope to return.
While traveling through north Florida, we booked one night at the 1895 Queen Anne style inn. Much to our delight, we found a well maintained, beautifully decorated inn that has functioned as a B&B for 25 years with the same owners/innkeepers. Richard welcomed us upon arrival. He was a friendly host and great conversationalist. We stayed in the Victorian Elegance room on the second floor. We enjoyed the room’s fireplace, very comfortable bed, and nice linens. The amenities were generous. We dined that evening at the inn with Richard as chef. The dinner more than met our expectations—outstanding! The full breakfast the next morning was delicious and ample—OJ, coffee, breakfast breads, fresh fruit, bacon and an awesome quiche. It was one of the best breakfasts of all the B&Bs we’ve visited. Lastly, I accidentally left a pair of favorite earrings in my room and the innkeepers kindly mailed them back to me! My husband and I would highly recommend the McFarland House. It’s a wonderful hidden jewel just off I-10 in FL! If traveling through FL in the future, we’ll definitely stay at the inn again!…
