The Allison House Inn is a beautiful house and gardens with well appointed rooms. John and Bek are wonderful hosts and their hospitality is warm and welcoming. They not only made us feel welcome they made our small dog feel welcome with lots of pats and attention. Breakfast was an amazing culinary experience, one of the best breakfasts we have had on our travels.
I looked for an historic inn in this general area and took a chance on Allison House. It was beyond perfect. Exactly what one hopes for and rarely gets. I was very happy with my well appointed, comfortable and spotless room; large, quiet, and situated within easy walking distance to the main square, which had an interesting history augmented by an app tour you can download on your phone. Inn hosts Bek and John were both equally delightful and easy to communicate with. John cooked up a lovely breakfast every morning, served in the upstairs dining room reminiscent of a more genteel era. I did not encounter even a tiny issue to mar my stay. A rare moment indeed.
We visited The Allison House in Quincy, Fl over the Christmas holidays! We had a simply lovely time, wonderful relaxing room and what a nice surprize as there was a clawfoot bathtub in our bathroom. Bek (one of the innkeepers) had lavender bubble bath and it was a heavenly experience! Breakfasts were delish and filling. John was quite the chef for us. For New Years Day dinner, he prepared dinner for us fit for a queen and king....Its a charming little town. We also had the opportunity to visit Bainbridge, GA. for New Years Eve dinner as John and his wife Bek suggested this restaurant, The American Restaurant in the quaint downtown square there. Excellent food and service. We also by their suggestion visited Havana, FL. as its a darling town known for their antiques....fun filled afternoon. Great time and will be sharing with family and friends this darling bed and breakfast!!!…
The rooms were nice, the staff was good, I would recommend for something different from just another hotel stay, but I would skip it, if you're looking for something a little romantic. Lack of sound dampening doesn't lend much privacy
We couldn’t fault Allison House . We wanted somewhere to stay just off the I10 to break up our journey from New Orleans. This old mansion house is steeped in history and you feel like you have gone back in time. Great rooms with all the amenities and Jon and Beck were the perfect hosts, going out of their way to make us feel at home. Great cooked breakfast by Jon and he also gave us some to die for ice cream to help us cool off. Very interesting town too with plenty to see. Give this place a try and you won’t be disappointed. On site parking too. Jane and George
