Our beautiful RV community features a 24-slip marina, so it's easy for our residents to spend the day cruising the creek through the pristine countryside of the Sunshine State.
Our spacious premium cottages feature one bedroom with a queen size bed to accommodate 2 guests, plus a sofa in the living room that could accommodate an additional guest. These rentals have a modern look and comes furnished with amenities that include a private bathroom, heat and central air conditioning, linens, washer and dryer, flat screen cable TV, Wifi service, and kitchen with full appliances and cookware provided. Outside is either a spacious porch or a concrete patio with a sitting area to enjoy the Florida weather, and a concrete driveway for easy parking.

As a winter resident I've found that things are being fixed post hurricane! Water quality is great (RO system installed). Improvements are in the works and more planned! The manager is great with communication and listening as issues come up! All and all a much better place to spend our winter, a month, a week!

We are here for the winter after losing our home in another sun community in fort Myers’s beach . We arrived shortly after hurricane Ian and also 2 days before a new manager took over . You could tell the park was run down before the hurricane hit it and needed some tlc . The new manager is great and very approachable , she is learning and I can see the daily improvements. This park has some of the friendliest residents we have come across . They are getting their activities organized , the park is getting cleaned up and I can see this being a beautiful park for seasonal and full timers . I highly recommend this little gem of a park . The staff is growing and the ones they have seem to have a lot of pride in their work and always wave and smile . The only downsize for me is that is a 45 min drive for a beach but the drive to the harbourwalk in punta gorda is only 10 mins away and all the restaurants in charlotte harbour .If you want a quiet park , this is it . Congratulations to Natalie ( manager) and to head maintenance -Rooster and all the staff . You guys have worked hard . Can’t wait to see what else you got planned . Will be back to visit . …

We are snowbirds at this park and they are having serious water issues, no water for hours two to three times a month, boil water alerts for days and days and no future plans that they are telling us about to fix the problem.

My husband and I got to Shell Creek in November, just a month after the hurricane after relocating from another Sun property in Bradenton due to work for the victims of the hurricane. The entire area was hit hard. This includes all of SWF. People gripping about signs being down in the park, lol, have you taken a look at a 100 mile radius or just not left the park all winter? The city hasn't even gotten to put back up some stop signs or highway signs. Shell Creek is an older RV park due to the fact that most of the manufactured homes that still exist were put there prior to the 80's. If you're looking for modern RV's and Manufactured homes, this park may not be your style. We actively saw Management (Natalie) taking control of repairs and preventative measures to the park which is no small task to take on due to age and yes the hurricane. They've had to remove leaning trees which were a danger, fallen trees that uprooted some plumbing and electrical, fix the seawall, remove severely damaged manufactured homes, make building repairs to park buildings, etc. Everyone is an expert who gets to be a complaining keyboard warrior behind closed doors. Hopefully the ones threating to never return actually won't for the sake of the park and the sweet long-term residents. Natalie has been the best Sun Resorts manager we've gotten to work with yet. She's caring, responsive, and in working hours is easily reachable by phone. The office is getting better about being open more since the storm. There are full-timer's that make this place shine. They're warm, welcoming, and genuinely happy people. There are a handful of "snow birds" that come in around December who think they own the park because "i've been coming here for centuries" and the goal is to chase off the new manager, staff, and Sun Resorts. They like to get wasted all day long and yell and cuss at anyone who's not in their friend circle including children. In fact the only time we saw the cops in the five months we stayed was because of the unruly snow birds screaming at children in the pool. It's honestly comical to be so nasty while also inviting people to church. I hope these snow birds learn to have respect for themselves and for others. If not, at least they'll be gone by April. As far as drugs and all of those previous reviews, there was none of that and we are very aware people. Speaking to some local neighbors in another community, there was a home or two in particular that was an issue last year but the home and people who caused the issues are gone and the people in prison. The only drugs we saw were snowbirds smoking w**d at "Yappy Hour", which is medically legal now. Aside from addressing all of those issues, here's the positives: A new manager Natalie who is so helpful and responsive. The pool heater has been fixed and they're working on the pool and hot tub constantly. The park is a bit out in the country but the nice thing is it's close to the highway if you need a trip to the beach or local shopping and restaurants. Since it's off the beaten path, it's nice and quiet. You can actually see the stars at night! They have concrete lots and grassy lots. The pier has been repaired as well as the boat dock and looks lovely. The locals seem to catch a lot of fish in the creek. If we ever work in the area again, we'd gladly stay at Shell Creek. I say give them a chance regardless of the nasty reviews that have been left in the past. Those reviews do not reflect the park or the people accurately. …

This is not like an RV resort it’s more like a run down trailer park. Manager is never around. Office is always closed. Speeding around, drug addicts, strangers in park all the time (not registered), buildings have been vandalized. Sheriffs department is here continuously.. Pool and the hot tub are dirty and most times closed. Manager allows people to eat and drink at the pool even though it’s posted not to. The 2 Maintenance guys drive around together on the same golf cart attached at the hip all day when there are so many things that need fixing. (35.00 an hour between the 2 of them). Maintenance needs management so they know what to do and stop wasting the parks money. Streets are dirty, Hedges are over grown, signs laying on ground, no numbers on sites, etc. Sun communities will say they’re recovering from a hurricane but we were here before and after the hurricane and nothing has changed. 4 managers in the last three years should say enough we won’t be back. Sun communities has much better parks than this. This one is poorly run.…

Hi Montana, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We were indeed hit hard by hurricane Ian, and we are still repairing major facility items and replacing our perimeter and facility fences. We do have one neighborhood watch sign down, which will go on the newly replaced fence. The pool and hot tub are clean, and we appreciate your patience with the occasional hot tub closures as we make the necessary repairs to keep it functioning properly. Naturally the work of managing a vibrant community of this size involves far more than waiting behind a desk, so our management team will need to be out of the office at times. Please call us with any questions or concerns you may have, and be sure to leave a voicemail if we're unable to answer, and we'll get back to you. Our maintenance team and how they work is managed internally. We go over what they are doing every day, and management is aware of their projects and deadlines. The hedges were recently trimmed and will be done again soon, as the warmth and humidity of our beautiful Florida location keeps everything growing quickly. We are happy to work with the sheriff's department for the safety and security of our residents whenever they visit or patrol the area. Guests are allowed to visit any time, and we have a guest sign in/notification policy for overnight visitors. We are a community of neighbors, and we thrive when we all work together for the common good. Please feel free to reach out with any issues you may encounter so we can help one another as a community.

Stayed for 3 months in our RV with our dogs. Wonderful park, almost all of the FTers were so welcoming and kind, treating us like family. Always felt safe. Showers were wonderful, always clean, never ran out of hot water. Pool was heated so you can enjoy even in 'winter'. Laundry room was always clean and was very affordable. Close to downtown which has great shopping and wonderful restaurants. The best part of our stay was the Manager. Nathalie went out of her way to greet you upon arrival to see if there was anything you needed or had any questions. She continuously checked in on us and was always available. Even if she saw us walking the dogs, she'd tell us if we had mail to grab that we didn't even know about! She was an integral part of making us feel comfortable, safe and happy during our stay!! This is a small park that we enjoy very much. It has a great pool, shuffleboard, clubhouse, marina in the park for fishing and boating as well as billiards. It is super dog friendly with two dog parks and the people are Amazing!! Natalie the manager is a super nice person. Activities are plentiful in season. So glad we purchased here. Would highly recommend.

Great place with new manager. She is limited on help. They do the best they can. Residents that have a problem with manager continue to write bad reviews. They are at the pool most of the day continually checking temp of pool and hot tub to complain. The new manager is working with residents to improve this great and friendly place

If anyone comes to Shell Creek and uses the pool facilities, bring a small scrub brush from Dollar Tree and help scrub the scum from around the pool. Shell Creek has elected to eliminate the wonderful pool service company that serviced the pool for several years. They did an excellent job and scrubbed the ring at least twice a week. I personally observed their activities. When I wrote letters and questioned these unfortunate circumstances, I was told that the maintenance department was going to take over this function as they longer were required to cut the lawn since Shell Creek had hired a lawn service company and the maintenance department would have the available time to clean the pool. This has not happened. Our pool and hot tub are disgusting. Wear an old bathing suit that you can discard because the chemicals are off and several residents here were comparing our recently purchased swimsuits that are now ruined because they have become spotty from the chemicals.…

The pool is our responsibility and we do not expect our residents to be scrubbing it, as our team is equipped with the proper tools to clean and maintain our amenities. We do request that all users shower before entering the pool or hot tub as lotions and creams contribute to a scum line. Additionally, we have upgraded our equipment with special sensors to distribute chemicals automatically and have arranged for a service to come check the sensors to make sure the right amount of chlorine is being distributed.
