Detailed Reviews
We stayed at this hotel from a Tuesday to Saturday in March. We were in room 305. This is on the harbor side. We found the room size on the larger size, liked to room entrance, closet space and all of the furniture, in particular. In addition to the bed it has a chair, a love seat and a table with two chairs. It was very comfortable. The room had a small fridge, microwave, and safe.
I believe rooms 307 and 309 would have more panoramic views as the 305 view was blocked on one side by a wall jutting out. We did check out room 313 (or 315?) and there was a large palm tree directly in the window blocking the view. Our room was quiet even with the noise from the traffic. This hotel is very convenient to walking trails, local restaurants, etc.
We found the staff to be helpful, particularly the Latino gentleman who provide towels in the rooms - very helpful and very nice.
The location was very convenient. Parking was a little tight (we had a GMC truck) and a little tough finding a space especially in the evening when the Mexican restaurant next door was busy.
The roof top pool and bar was a nice feature. We went up Saturday morning (before the bar opened) and found the cabana cushions stained and the table to be not well cleaned from the night before. they do get a lot of people coming into this boutique hotel to go to the rooftop bar.
The bathroom was large and very nice. The quality of the sheets and towels were nice. I do think they should invest in new bed skirt (very stained) and new covering for some of the furniture. Our chair cushion was showing wear and stains.
Overall, the hotel was a good choice for us and we would stay again but feel they could make a few investments in some of the materials and it would make a big difference.

+1
This is, by far, one of the nicest hotels to stay in. The staff is wonderful. Every employee we spoke to was very friendly and helpful. The hotel and rooms are immaculately clean. And the food in both restaurants is outstanding. We stayed in June for a little family getaway and enjoyed it so much, we came back again this month. The kids love the rooftop pool. The higher rooms tend to be quieter, as the hotel is located on a busy road. Will definitely be back soon....even if it is just for the worlds best burger...The Wyvern Burger! Thursday nights they do an excellent prime rib dinner special. Lots to see right across the street with several small stores and restaurants. The marina is right across the street along with a crab house restaurant called Laishley Crab House.

I booked several rooms for our employees to stay at the hotel last month for our Christmas gathering. When I made the reservation I spoke with a young man named Vincent who was extremely pleasant and accommodating. I had a few requests that have caused me issues with other hotels in the area, so when I spoke with Vincent it was like it was no big deal! He was warm and caring and receptive to making sure my needs where met. I feel he went out of his way to make sure all my needs and concerns were met. He is the true embodiment of hospitality. I was able to take care of the bill for our employees and everything was set for the weekend. I thanked him for his kindness and exceptional service and he replied by saying "He was just doing his job!" The net evening I asked our employees who had stayed at the hotel, how their rooms were etc.. Each employee was happy with their experience, the one common account from all of them was how nice Vincent was to them upon Check-In! Way to go Wyvern, having the right people in place really makes the difference. We will definitely use the Wyvern again. Thank you Vincent for the little things that made a big difference.

Aside from the very nice front desk man, this stay was so-so. The room itself was nothing spectacular the window looking outside was filthy and covered in mold on the outside. There are not room darkening blinds, just sheers so any light could enter. The coffee maker was not in the room due to "covid" but they had a coffee pump in the lobby with a bowl of creamers. So instead of having our own maker, we got to share with an entire hotel population. Whose brilliant idea was that?!? Meanwhile there was a safe, remote control, microwave, alarm clock, hair dryer, fridge..but the coffee maker would spread covid. Both the tub and sink stoppers were broken. The tub actually had a rubber stopper sitting on the side rather than having it properly repaired. For the price of the room, I find that unacceptable. Room service is every 3 days-this we were not informed. If they are going to be doing that, they need to provide more towels, hand towels, etc. You could order breakfast on the roof but as far as included breakfast, there was not. I'm not sure if it was due to "covid" or they don't have that at all. Most places have adopted other ways to provide that. The best part of this stay was the restaurant. We had the most incredible dinner there for our anniversary. But in the future, I will likely try a different hotel. This did not measure up.

We booked via and app with a no refund policy, which was fine until we arrived and they stitched us up with a $50 charge for our crate/house trained dog. We’ve never paid more than $25 for our dog at over 32 States across the USA. The Cooler was noisy. Trash can and sink still had remnants from the previous customers. When we asked for hot water in the morning for our coffee, the staff member looked at us like we’d asked her to cut her arm off. Incredibly disappointing. They’re relying solely on their location for customers, because their approach to HOSPITALITY leaves a lot to be desired.

We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay! We loved the roof top pool and bar area and the view of the harbor was amazing. It’s conveniently located near the harbor and within walking distance of several parks. They serve a delicious breakfast in the restaurant downstairs. Rooms are very clean and well stocked with fresh towels daily. The staff there are so welcoming and friendly. Vincent helped us with booking our rooms for our stay and was very professional and accommodating to all of our needs and questions. Vincent always made sure to personally greet us with a handshake and a smile. I can honestly say I’ve never stayed in an establishment that greeted us with smiling faces every time we walked into the lobby!

Small hotel located adjacent to two very busy roads.
The rooms are dated ,the bedding is terrible, the sheets are thin, coverlet is two sheets with a thin comforter in between. Room service is every three days.they failed to tell us that on check in. The roof top deck is beautiful but the food is lousy.
Fish tacos were hard as a rock . Pina Coloda was bland .
We paid for a Harborview room and can see the top of one sail boat mask.
Would not stay here again.

Checked-in on Christmas Eve. There were signs around mentioning staff shortages, but the room was OK and cleaned. Roof bar was open on Christmas Eve and one restaurant open on Christmas Day. Returned back after visiting friends to discover room hadn't been cleaned, or towels changed, etc. Called down to lobby to be told they had a "staff shortage" and rooms were only being changed once every two days! Nothing was mentioned at check-in, regarding the lack of room service and the daily rate jumped for the 'holiday". We were able to obtain a few clean towels and packets of coffee, but almost begrudgingly.
We stayed here a few years ago and it was worth the 4 star rating. This is a hotel in decline and wouldn't stay again.

We stayed here in late Sept, during pandemic. Rooms were beautiful. Bed comfortable. We heard a little bit of noise in the hallways when a group came in late, but other than that, we didn't hear anything. Showers were big and there was a large separate tub. We had to call to get extra towels and washcloths because they only provided a few. The staff at the front desk were very friendly. There is a nice park down along the water with a walking trail that will take you for miles if you want. It's very nice and tranquil. At night you can sit at the rooftop bar that has a pool and great DJ doing sound. The crowd was mixed: lots of older folks and a few younger ones. Staff was young.

We were traveling and flying out of Punta Gorda airport and needed lodging for one night near the airport so we could Uber out the next day to catch our flight. We were very pleasantly surprised and a bit amazed at this wonder Gem of a boutique hotel right in the middle of the historic district of Punta Gorda. After leaving we wished that we could have had a couple more days there in order to enjoy the wonderful beds, large clean rooms, "Wow" showers, and the great breakfast on the rooftop with a commanding and beautiful view of the Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte Bay.

I honestly don’t know. We checked in late and left early.
Probably a rental car to explore area beaches and neighboring sights.
Parking at hotel is free and convenient to highway.
Call them directly. They are very accommodating. But why not just book a double room and share a bed or get a roll away brought up. It might be cheaper.
It is very close about 2 miles
