This is a place everyone should come to once in a lifetime to see the views, sunsets and pure relaxation Yes, it is a Island so there are limits to and from land, but the ferry boat rides are every three hours- Can not get any better than that! This resort is to get away from the loud crowds, sounds... More

Let me start by saying that I would love to demand my money back form these folks but form the looks of things, the money is already gone. The place is marketed as an exclusive, high end getaway and I suppose that COULD be true. We arrived and were picked up promptly. Turns out they are "closed" during the winter... More

Black Island resort is a small beautiful island with around 20 2 bedroom 2 bath rustic but well equipped houses on it. Looks like Gilligan's island or some other tropical paradise, unlike the surrounding area. Some have a loft with a twin bed for kids. This is not the Ritz so don't expect it to be. It is comfortable and... More

We had a nice time. The place had beautiful views, kayaks around the island, and rabbits running around. Really cool. The main drawback is getting back and forth to the island. It limits you on grabbing dinner on the mainland. Also, the ferry was not reliable on the times that they give you. There is no food on the island,... More

We checked in on July 14th with our family. There were 10 of us including our 13 month old grand-daughter. Today, we checked out...none of us wanting to leave. The bungalows are gorgeous and feel like home. No wifi in the bungalows, but it is available in the main house which was just a short walk away. The absence of... More

Visited in 2014 and decided to return in 2015 for another relaxing vacation, this did not happen. Will not be returning to the island for anymore vacations. Restaurant they had there in 2014 was closed. Was not told this when we booked and we did not bring food with us. Totally not worth the price. There were several other mishaps... More

We just got back from our trip to Black's Island. It's a real unique place to visit. Very laid back and gorgeous. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The bungalows are beautiful and decorated really nicely. The beach is wonderful and the surrounding waters are filled with wildlife. We went paddle boarding, kayaking, used the small boat with electric... More

My husband and I stayed in August 2014. We enjoyed it very much. Our bungalow was very clean and we didn't have any maintenance issues. The staff was very friendly and helpful the few times we needed something. I think they pretty much live on the island and it seems like there isn't always someone actually working if you need... My family and I have had the best time on Blacksisland. The pool was stunning, the cottages was perfect it had looked like no one had ever stayed in the cottage before. The staff there was just outstanding! We have stayed many places all over and Blacksisland is my families and I favorite place ever. My family always had something... More

Poorly executed concept and not worth the premium they charge! It felt like something belonging to a Jeff Foxworthy punch line relative to how things are managed there! Positives: nice cottages with great views, & decent pool. Negatives: zero food and beverage options (false advertising!), not well maintained, no wifi, poor tv options in cottages, no formal beach area, guests... More
